According to the manual (search nuvi 295W on the Garmin website), it charges with the vehicle power cable, USB connected to your PC, battery charger (option) or AC power cord (option).

got it for $74 and some change on amazon.com with a free carrying case. its only good as a gps...the sound is very low compared to another garmin I have. the web browsing is horrible, pixels are bad. If you want a good gps, get it. if getting for other stuff, web searching...don't get it. I haven't tried email yet.
