@tanksbb actually warmongers keep us out of bankruptcy because wars generate alot of money, and improve our industry, how do u think we got out of the great depression, partially the new deal but alot was the war generating jobs for americans and other countries aswell, and fyi if we all commit suicide then who will protect u from the next person starting a conflict, or the local pcp/crack head who goes crazy trying to kill everyone? also brink of ww3 was the cold war, we far gone from that now.

No question about who was the star of this group. Those eyes are piercing, the powerful voice and the smile when she gets to "you better find somebody to love" all made Grace Slick a dominant force on stage. She was in command of the audience and the band and she KNEW it. Confidence was what made her so at ease whenever she sang. This is my favorite Grace Slick/Jefferson Airplane song.

Have you ever noticed how sensible the bands looked compared to the fans, who were way over the top? The Airplane, for all the outlandishness tossed at them, were always very straight-up. Sure, they had their 'thing' going on, but , we're not talking Guns 'n' Roses or Motley Crue, are we? But look at the dancing fools with paint on their faces. They looked stupid then and they still do. One can only surmise that most are now divorced moms, accountants who are too fat for their suits. Or dead.

1967: It wasn't the year of "Summer of Love" it was the year America came apart and was no longer "One nation under God" (and it still isn't). Ask the people in Detroit and Newark, NJ: They saw their city(s) burn down that summer and they too still haven't recovered from that. In short, '67 was the cumination of what started in 1963 with the murders of Medger Evers and John F. Kennedy (I want to write the defining book on the 60's era-because I don't think both sides of the story has been told).

According to Marty Balin's account ( the other lead singer playing keyboards in this video) , he was the only one in the band that Grace did not f**k. I'm not claiming this as fact, just something I watched in a documentary with Marty Balin discussing his time with Jefferson Airplane.
