Hey this is good but with respect I'm telling you that your siting position isn't the right one, and I'm not sure but I think that you were playing with a pick and not with a mizrab well, just a positive observation
@dealbahdz Indeed, my seating is wrong, but I'm playing with a mizrab. Of course it's all very amateurish since this was my 4th or 5th day with the instrument.
@Alienpubes It was average... took me a while to figure out some of the notes were played by pulling harmonics rather than hitting a regular note. And yes, this is a double-toomba sitar (altough I'm not sure it was attached to it when I made this video).
@Alienpubes The second one just gives you a louder, fuller sound. You can only add this extra one if the sitar has the placeholder for you to screw it in, at the end of the neck.
I tuned the sympathetic string in a chromatic C scale, but starting from G, (one before the middle C):G, A, B, C (piano middle C), D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D.
To play the intro I ignore that first D, as I can't even reach it properly.
The playing strings:
F (below the middle C on the piano), C (1 octave under the middle C), G (same as a G on a bass string), C (two octaves under the middle C), G (same as a guitar G string), C (middle C) and C (an octave above the middle C)
thanks man, also can you make a video in which you show how does it sounds each of the main strings, I mean, I've got a sitar myself but I can't manage to tune the main strings as you can. Please excuse my english...I am from Peru XD
at 0:41 you play another note but doesn't matter you are fantastic :)

@maxmismetti what about the tablatures.
Alienpubes 1 year ago
@Alienpubes I only play by ear. Never heard about tablatures for sitar.
maxmismetti 1 year ago
@maxmismetti oh. Was it easy to tab out? And does this sitar have...(i don't know what their called) a big round ball thing at the top of the head?

@maxmismetti what does that mean if you have a double toombah? What would a normal sitar sound like without one? Can you buy and add one on there?
