  • Hey, Izaw: the output file from VirtualDub plays fine, but at 30 frames (NTSC) it's much too slow. 60 is too fast and 50 doesn't seem quite right either. Is this a problem you think would be fixed by exporting through Vegas/a program like that?

Honestly, it seems like somwhere between 50 and 55 frames is correct, which is just weird and not the game speed.

  • in your tutorial it says that dolphin emulator does not record sound. what program do you use to record the sound for your matches?

  • Thank you very much, this helped to answer a lot of my doubts.

  • aannnd I need help if anyone can please, wii scrubber just makes the ISO unbootable EVERY time i replace or even touch something, the ISO i got was already hacked by a KC-MM member because it's a USA ISO with the japanese BRSAR in it, looks like i can't do HD recording

  • im getting speed-up in the video output, by how much do i slow it down? or did i do something entirely wrong? (I'm stuck with the shitty intel graphics chipset)

  • @tbtechwiz Yeah my recording end up going double time and stuff. Its slow on the emulator like its suppose to but when i play back the video on vDub the characters move like they've got the bunny hood on. Have you figured out the solution to our problem?

  • @unholydeath123 nope.. it seems to be luck based when it actually works right

  • shit.. 50GB my computer is at least 40GB (MAX 110GB) it will die

  • i thought you guys played on the wii, do you play on an emulator and what controller do you use?

  • "You will need to record sound another way."

I know this video is 6 months old, but how did you do that initially with the old version of dolphin? I know there's a "dump sound" option now, but if there's background music playing, it doesn't really match up the speed of the frame rate for the video.

  • So Let me get this straight,

3 Minutes of Footage is 50 GB, making a 15 Minute Video be a whopping 250 GB of Memory, and it takes 30 Minutes to Record 3 Minutes, meaning it will take about 3 Hours to Record 15 Minutes.

Now let me ask you this, wouldn't it be much cheaper (If you take into consideration how much money it will cost to have the Hard Drive Space Available.) and less time-consuming to just get S-Video Cables?

  • all that just to make one vid on utube

All i wanted is to simply record a game on dolphin PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME!

  • Does anyone know how to change the audio to match the fps after you dump the audio file?

  • is there anyway ti sync sound with the record , when I record sound it doesn,t really sync, with the record , please replay I need it

  • Mine says Partition 2 VCGame. Any help?

  • record with fraps and you will have sound :]

  • @basvhout That's a VERY VERY VERY bad idea. FRAPS records at the speed the game is running at, where as the 'dump frames' method records every frame regardless of how fast the game is playing. For those who have PCs which don't run Dolphin fast enough (which is most people) then FRAPS would record a video very jumpy and inaccurate video. Go to the audio setting and there is an option called 'dump audio'. Use a video editor to combine the video and audio, as well as compress the files.

  • @soulcalibrII you can speed it up with an audio CODEC. and the vid will be speedup with vdub. no worries

  • @basvhout There are still many issues with FRAPS. It is a great program, but only if your PC and the game can handle it well. Whenever you record something very hardware intensive, like the Dolphin emulator, it just plain doesn't work as well as the dump frames method. You can also dump the audio with Dolphin, so there is no reason to use FRAPS in the first place.

  • Very very Good game ,

    Good tuto 5/5

  • What are your settings for sony vegas?

  • How to record sound?

  • @insanityprod Audacity

  • So basically, you're taking the replays from the wii with no textures and poor quality, adding them to your Dolphin Emulator .ISO file which has the textures, then playing the replay on the actual Dolphin game (which will show up with the new textures) and will the replay goes on, recording it via dump frame? So in the end, your just taking the videos you recorded in the wii and transforming them into HD? Thanks, it's just that I'm in doubt whether you play on wii or dolphin. Thanks again!

  • lol this scene from mgs2 nostalgia

  • can dolphin emulator work on other games?

  • what if you want to use gamecube controller do you have to buy something and for wii mote also?

  • Yo izaw im 99% dun with everything BUT savegame manager just wont work for me, ive done al lthe ios shit but no dice....is there any other way i can get my replays on dolphin?

  • @XxR0nald07xX Not that I know of, try another wii, a friends or something.

  • @Izaw91 Found another way :O

  • @XxR0nald07xX

Download the savegame extractor from homebrew instead.

  • I think ill pass

  • there stood Click on ´Config`-> advanced, but there had to stand Graphigs or am i wrong?

  • Took me a long time to get set-up after downloading and configuring everything, but once I started the recording process everything went smooth! My only concern is how to record the audio. So far I've tried using dolphin's audio dump feature, but failed to get a decent audio sample because my fps is far from perfect. So, what is your method to obtain the audio?

  • i don´t get it when my video is done and i play it this is faster than a normal brawl

  • Good thing you explained it, Izaw.

  • When i do the dump frames thing a little window pops up called videos compression

i pick Xvid Mpeg-4 but it just crashes matter pf face anything i pick just crashes.

    any help?

  • i can't open the avi file with virtualDub pls help

  • @DNS1623 you need to unistall and install again the emulator for appear MPEG-4....¬¬

  • If you already have brawl, you can always create an ISO using USB Loader GX. So you don't waste time downloading.

  • you know yami?

    he record with emulator, too

BUT his methode is much faster...but have not as good quali as this :D

thx for the tip with video dup... now is any anything easier

  • It was a lot of work to record one match but now i know how to do it. Thanks Izaw!

  • Alright, great. Going on 3 successive comments. I fixed my previous issue, but now I can't fix this one for real:

When I open the replay to record while emulating, I get an error about "prefix pointer 1F", and then crash. Do you know what that is?

  • Okay, nevermind. I found it.

But now I have a different problem, it's telling my the Wii doesn't have enough space to use my saves (on Dolphin)

  • Hey, when I click on "config", I don't have an "advanced" tab to use the dump frames feature. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

  • If anyone used Wii 4.3 savegame manager won't work because it requires cIso249 which is on Wii 4.2, just download save game extractor/installer if you have Wii 4.3

It took me 5 days to realize what I was doing wrong >.>

  • looking that this record frame per frame... Can i record brawl in HD with 3gb ram and ATI radeon HD3200? or record without HD but with the same method (frame per frame)

  • @MTKL17 I try it and is awesome.. finally can record but... how can i record de audio... some tip? :D

  • @MTKL17 you can still record it but it wont be quality he has those are just his pc specs.

  • Great vid Izaw, currently in the process of recording as I speak, but personally what do you use to record your sound?

  • @PT2Red hey i find a way to record sound... you need Dolphin x86 SVN Revision 7436, there in DSP options is "Dump Audio" an that its... go to Dump/Audio an there is the "AudioDump.wav"

  • 50 gb i think my computer would explode

  • I love you. ~Thanks for the help, Eirin~

  • Wait so you dont have to have an HD PVR or a DAZZLE?

  • if a 3 min video in 50 GB, how do you upload it to youtube? do they allow videos that big to be uploaded?

  • @Roanoke884 I assume that's the RAW, not the final.

  • @Roanoke884 After you've exported it through Adobe Premiere Pro / Sony Vegas, 3min will be 150mb

  • @Izaw91 that's a lot smaller than what I thought it'd be. especially since everything is so clear and smooth. I'm gonna start doing this hopefully

  • @Izaw91 i have adobe elements 8? will that work?

  • MPEG-4 I'snt Showing Up In The Frame Dump Compression? HELP!

  • @DNS1623 Either you have the wrong Dolphin Emulator version , or you haven't downloaded the Xvid codec.

If it's either of these , I have no idea what the problem might be.

  • @Izaw91 I Use The 2.0 Version Also I Have K-Lite Installed AND Xvid Codec.

  • I was asking myself about a PM I sent you. Now I know.

    Thank you so much.

    ~Josa

  • there is an easier way with fraps + dolpin + vdub and also you can record the audio. But still a really good alternative

  • sharing secrets ^^u

  • So glad you made this, was goign to drop 200$ on a HPVR just on Brawl videos, lol.

  • Yeah thank YOU very very much Master m(_ _)m

  • is the video on vegas still ins slow motion?

  • 3 minutes = 50 gb? omfg

  • nice guide i was wondering how you got you videos to look so good.

i have a question is there a way to play a hack of brawl on Dolphin? like Brawl+,Project M ect..

  • @lilT0021 Not anything I know of, sorry.

  • @lilT0021

In Dolphin, you can replace music and textures using Wii scrubber but it's incredibly tedious. I'm not sure how you would go about playing Brawl + or Project M.

  • @lilT0021 hack iso

  • @SSBBKUZCO theres an hack iso of the brawl hacks? where?

  • @lilT0021 wii scrubber is one thing...

    hacks work on this way:

Dolphin folder --> user --> gameconfig --> find RSBP01 (pal) / RSBE01 (NTSC) --> write codes in it

    finished

  • @SSBBKUZCO interesting, Ima have to try that

  • @lilT0021 now i need YOUR help xDD

any tips to record just sound?

  • @lilT0021 you will have to edit the iso or use the sd loader tool on the config menu this may not work though.

  • @lonewander3931 Edit the Iso...how so? also this happens to my ssbm iso as well..

  • @lilT0021 its this tool called wii scrubber it can trim the size of a iso which is helpful and it allows you to add custom textures and music to games that have strm, stg, pac, pcs files but be careful the file can disappear and make you lose 7gb of space if you delete something important.

  • @lonewander3931 oh yea yea i know all about wii scrubber. i didt read what you said right.

  • @lilT0021 you could be the first one to figure out how to play modded smash on dolphin.

  • @lilT0021

I'm pretty sure you just replace the Brawl +/-/M Motion files with the corresponding character on WiiScrubber.

  • @FxckCensors you'll still need the codes for it to work and i tryied adding em but the game just froze

  • sick man this is going to help alot!!!

  • @L3phili3Tjosh Harry Gregson Williams - Who Am I Really

  • I'd say use a lossless codec (like Lagarith or Huffyuv), rather than Xvid.

  • yes thank you Izaw

  • Fuck yesz.
