I think hospital expenses should be paid for by the government. However, the government should NOT interfere with the drug or pharmaceuticals market or get involved with doctors. The government should NOT use tax-payers' money to pay for drugs that have been acquired by doing negotiable deals with big pharma. Its just corporate fascism (and single-payer still allows that).
The government has already gotten involved in the pharmaceutical market. That is why laws have been made to restrict the importation of prescription drugs. Same company making the same drugs overseas, but it can't be imported because they are charging the US citizens triple the cost of anyone else. I find it appalling that this happens even as the pharm companies are subsidized with tax payer money. Yeah the government has gotten involved, but only for the drug companies, not the people.
Sorry Dennis, Medicare sucks. What we need is to remove normal insurance in favor of catastropic insurance and then give a tax credit of $1200 per year that can be used for medical needs and if not used, you keep the $1200.
LOL
Let's take a bankrupted system and give it more money.
What a brilliant plan!!

"Medicare for all"
You can change the letters, name and numbers on a bill, but it's still the same ol' crap... "socialized health care" and I don't want any part of it.

You will take Medicare when you get past 65 and gladly do it.
