you american fags will destroy everething on this earth only about money, God please destroy only the USA and let other people to live in peace (you fuckers are couse all wars and disasters)
@shala351 No one country is at fault for anything, every single human on this planet is different and every single non-natural problem we have on this planet was made by a human, not an 'american' or 'muslim' or 'jew'.
HUMANS who generalize and classify whole groups of people as the sole reason for a problem are actually the cause of many of our problems. Hitler ring any bells?
I don't know how this is any one country's or corporation's fault; they both made mistakes in the oil industry and spill cleanup. I believe -- and remember, this is just my opinion, and forgive me if it contradicts your own -- that if you see something you think is wrong in the world, you should work to make it right yourself and stop blaming other people for it. You can do that after the problem is solved.
@shesdopenena I haven't pointed the blame at the US. I haven't pointed blame at anyone -- in fact, that was the entire point of that comment. However, I can't say I understand your comment. "not everybody in the us is like that" -- Like what? Not everybody in the US is like what?
@RaevynCL I don't use oil. I use earth heat and solar panels. Denmark is leading in windmill technology. there are only 6.5million Danes. why is there no governments taking responsibility in the world!?
this is a very sobering picture of the horrible damage done to our environment . BP is an example of a huge corporation cutting corners to make the most profits and damn everyone and everything else .. BP execs are in our govt folks and our president is a puppet . 13 countries offered their assistance and we said no .. An oil company in texas offered microbes to eat the oil .. instead they sprayed and are still spraying corexit all over the gulf .
@artsyoceanic this chemical kills everything in its path. It disolves your organs . Folks ,our country is being ruled by giant corps ,not the people .. They do not care if you live or die ,its all about money and power . they are also making a fortune off of the "supposed cleanup " there is no cleanup ,only sink the evidence and damn every living thing in its path .
As an unbiased observer, I stand by my comments. The world community is well aware that these are the facts: America is reaping what they have sown with it's culture of mass consumerism and irresponsible energy consumption. The USA is a third world nation.
The US should be FORCED to make reparations to the rest of the global community for the damage they are doing to the environment in so many areas. The US is by far the world's worst offender when it comes to polluting the environment!

@TSM8088 Dude you're retarded BP isn't even a U.S. company (hence the name BRITISH petroleum). The U.S. doesn't produce as much air pollution as China or India do now and our water pollution was way lower than a lot of other countries for a long time. and people who were directly affected actually did get reparations, but from BP because it was their fault.

The spill is not that bad. The media made it much much worse than it really is. 95% of the oil has already dissipated. Take a look at the very bottom of this recent article which came from a tourist evaluation looking at different beaches. Even they say the gulf coast only has occasional tar balls which is like nothing. ---> check this out, scroll to the bottom of the page ---> travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-35816900
@MXAXGXGX0XTX Not to mention the Corexit. Apparently people think one hundred thirty million plus odd gallons (at least..) of oil is easy to clean up and just disappears when the major media stops covering it. 'Hey guy's it's clean'. All the beaches were just covered up with sand to hide the oil on the coast lines. If you dig down Three to eight inches near the water you'll find oil.

@LittleBigKRATOS shut your leftist ass up and try and leave the house without using something provided to you by a multinational corporation. would you really destroy the economy of the western world just to help out the fucking ecosystem? its just natural selection doing its job.
This is beyond right or left, greed is the worst contaminator,.
Once in Turkmenistàn , they were mining coal, and gas started spewing out, so the workers had to flee, the boss decided to light it up, so it would burn away, and they could go on . THIS WAS IN 1970!!! AND THE FIRE STILL RAGES ON UNSTOPPABLE... people in oil industry knows about this, check out youtube`s DARVAZ BURNING HOLE
@Vetwolf13 What the hell did Bush do to allow this to happen? This is all BP... Nothing political about it. I bet you think Bush was responsible for katrina too? Huh?
@nickkemp100 It's because of Bush era deregulation that oil companies have been allowed to get sloppy. Also, Bush was responsible for the flooding in New Orleans and the following neglect of the survivors. Agents of the C.I.A. used explosives to blast the levees. Bush and his bosses are the scum of this planet. Have a nice day.
First of all, BP AND ALL OTHER OIL COMPANIES HAVE HAD US SUCKING ON THEIR TEATS FOR GOING ON 90 YEARS NOW. It's time this stopped. It's been known for the past 40 years that the American lifestyle as it is now, with our dependence on petroleum and other fossil fuels, is unsustainable. Not only will fossil fuels run out, but the excess atmospheric CO2 will have major detrimental effects upon climate stability.
This may well be the end of life on earth as we have come to know it. No living ocean equals no oxygen equals o living animals (that's us, too, folks) or plants equals maybe we get another change to start again maybe its a life-form based on something else. . . Maybe just another dead rock going around our sun.
You're only destroying the lives of Indian families who had the business handed to them by the government we've been paying our taxes to. They've been sending that profit home. You go get a loan to own a gas station and see what they tell you, We can't get a loan for a 1000 bucks, but they come over here with nothing and become small business owners. Their gas destroys motors anyway, too much ethanol. Boycott BP!!!!!!!!!!!
this shit pisses me off how people actually think about a few people loosing their jobs if we boycott them. a lot of people have lost their jobs because of the economy, but they have done something else for work, its not the end of the world. but this is actually something serious, this isn't going to end the world but it does do great damage to our planet, now and for years to come. and im not saying loosing your job is awesome. but if we destroy the planet how will we survive??
Who really cares? It is not like WE can do anything anyways. Its like arguing on the internet...... as rewarding as winning the spec. olympics, even if you win , your still retarded!
@truckerjoshd Yes you're right. "R.I.P" and god bless the 11 families that are suffering emotionally for the loss of their loved ones. What has BP done about that?.
and what you see in this vid is oil floating on the top of the water and is not very much oil and in 10 years if we did nothing you would have a hard time even finding a trace of oil left for you to find buy the way this much oil seeps in to the gulf every day naturally from the floor of the gulf but it is spreed threw out the gulf and not clumped all together there is sea life that feeds on crude and that is part of the Eco system
So it's ok to kill wildlife and marshes that took 100's of yrs to grow. Yes in 10 yrs. it will all disappear. but the damage will remain for decades to come. Ok we shouldn't boycott BP. It will only harm you more economically. I just don't think they've shown enough respect for your environment and wildlife. Many ideas and solution were out there to prevent the oil from touching land and almost nothing was done about it. Money should not be an issue here. They've got plenty of it..
@rogerdoiron you can thank Obama for nothing being done for the last 3 months
and who is saying it is ok to kill wildlife ?
all i seed is the spill in not as bad as they make it look and we should do every thing we can to clean
and buy the way Money is all ways the issue you may not like it and i may not like it but with out money no one will eat but the farmers and the hunters and the ones that can fish.
in 10 years even the marshes and wild life will be back to normal
@rogerdoiron and the only way any of you tree hugers will ever get this world off of oil and gas it to wait for it to run out and this world has no other choice but to start using solar and wind power and nuke power .
i think we should be doing that allot more then we are but that nasty oil is just so damn cheep to use for energy so get over it and just know that man will never have the power to destroy this earth and it will be here long after we are all long gone
Boycotting BP is a dumb idea, since they are the most in need of money over all oil companies. They're paying money to people whom cannot work due to the oil spill and paying tons of money to try to fix the problem. So if anything, I would buy nothing but BP.
right-wing bullshit is that, "they are the most in need of money"? They can give their executives $40,000,000 BONUSES, I think that proves them more than qualified to spend whatever amount of money it takes to clean up their massive steaming shit in the Gulf of Mexico. Or would you rather slowly suffocate to death, because our oceans can no longer replenish the oxygen we need to survive?
light that crap all on fire before that hurricane hits and pushes it all up on to the land. dont worrie bout lighting the houses on fire the hurricane rain and wind will put out the fire hopfully. THUMBS UP IF U THINK THEY SHOULD DO THIS TOO!!!!
@ThatsBooji They've considered burns, but they would be controlled and contained.
"dont worrie bout lighting the houses on fire the hurricane rain and wind will put out the fire hopfully." - Have you ever seen an oil fire? I dare you to try to put one out with water.
@Deathforyou95 i still think your under estimating the winds of a hurricane if they're strong enough to rip the roof right off a house or even destroy the whole hous it's self i think they're capable of putting out a fire even on oil. especially when it's the combination of water AND air
I guarantee that if George Bush was President during this so called "crisis" you would all be pointing fingers and blaming it on him. Fucking dumb liberal democrats you know who you are.
then go to the gulf of mexico, and go tell them how horrible they are for not knowing how to fix a disaster they didn't cause. and then go clean it up with them
@Emilayyhdw i am not blaming them and they might have not caused it but they should've at least seen it coming and should have been prepared for a situation like this. Everything running under water through a pipe has to use pressure and everything that uses pressure has a gauge telling them they are using too much pressure..so when that gauge hit yellow or whatever they use, then they should have taken pressure off.
Last time I checked Obama doesn't have any relation to british petroleum whatsoever? Blamming this unnatural disaster on him is just pointing fingers at the easiest and most vulnerable person in the united states which is obama.
@Emilayyhdw i never said or think that i am the smartest person ever but have you ever heard our leaders trying to come up with a solution other than just sayin we dont know what to do...
Just imagine if this happened on land and how much easier it could have been fixed. Instead the enviromentalist keep pushing companies into deeper water where this srt of thing can happen.
@player41494 There are natural oil leaks all over the ocean and it cleans itself up. Obviously not to this magnitude but this will not be something that destroys the gulf to the point of no return.
What makes me angry is that the citizens of the USA aren't willing to really do anything. They are just complaining at the government to clean it up. But its not their mess, its BP's for hiring an engineer who cant do the job. And they arent doing much to clean up. But if you were really passionate about cleaning up the oil spill, then go out there to do it or donate money to an environmental cause that will help clean up the oil spill.
@Hex13337 Are you fucking stupid? That's part of Capitalism, if you're reckless with who you align yourself with you deserve to go down! The families who own BP franchises were irresponsible, investing in a corporation run by incompetents too concerned with lining their pockets to run a tight ship.
@Hex13337 Furthermore, these families would have been SOL anyhow in about four decades or so, once people grow up and switch over to a legitimate, renewable energy source like solar. If they wanna run around and play the little entrepreneur, then they need to learn to roll with the punches or go back to their pencil-pushing or manual labor 9 to 5 rat race.
I live in Texas and it's not affecting me too much but it being so close to home makes me really upset. I just want it to stop and never happen again.
BP knew this was going to happen and the federal government knew this was going to happen. Its also looking more and more like they intended this to happen.
After the world's largest oil spill (100 million gallons+ so far) I kinda thought people would start a movement to end offshore drilling, maybe even drilling in general. Wake up people they have had totally electric cars for years if we put money into that instead of stupid shit like the war on drugs maybe this could have been prevented.
Yeah! Lets put them out of business, then they won't be able to pay to fix anything. People are demonizing them for this, and yes they are responsible, but do you think they wanted this to happen?

I agree it needs to be cleaned up, but the earths water supply won't be replaced for oil by this for several reasons.

2. As per above, this is a single oil source, not all the oil in the entire world.

Huh?
nickkemp100 1 year ago

Are you attempting to imply that the oil is more serious than the volatile organic compounds coming from the well?
SadegoGG 1 year ago
and what you see in this vid is oil floating on the top of the water and is not very much oil and in 10 years if we did nothing you would have a hard time even finding a trace of oil left for you to find buy the way this much oil seeps in to the gulf every day naturally from the floor of the gulf but it is spreed threw out the gulf and not clumped all together there is sea life that feeds on crude and that is part of the Eco system
dexter2433 1 year ago
@dexter2433
They've got plenty of it..
rogerdoiron 1 year ago
@rogerdoiron you can thank Obama for nothing being done for the last 3 months
and who is saying it is ok to kill wildlife ?
all i seed is the spill in not as bad as they make it look and we should do every thing we can to clean
and buy the way Money is all ways the issue you may not like it and i may not like it but with out money no one will eat but the farmers and the hunters and the ones that can fish.
in 10 years even the marshes and wild life will be back to normal
dexter2433 1 year ago
@dexter2433 I'm trying to figure out why/when everyone forgot to farm, hunt and fish. I never forgot.
brianwurst1234 1 year ago
@rogerdoiron and the only way any of you tree hugers will ever get this world off of oil and gas it to wait for it to run out and this world has no other choice but to start using solar and wind power and nuke power .
i think we should be doing that allot more then we are but that nasty oil is just so damn cheep to use for energy so get over it and just know that man will never have the power to destroy this earth and it will be here long after we are all long gone
dexter2433 1 year ago
Boycotting BP is a dumb idea, since they are the most in need of money over all oil companies. They're paying money to people whom cannot work due to the oil spill and paying tons of money to try to fix the problem. So if anything, I would buy nothing but BP.
chevelletrixter72 1 year ago
@chevelletrixter72 "They're paying money to people whom cannot work due to the oil spill"
BP owns Exxon. They can afford to give out 40 million dollars to one executive though. They have priorities.
ExoticGawdess 1 year ago
@chevelletrixter72 In need of money? What kind of shit-for-brains
right-wing bullshit is that, "they are the most in need of money"? They can give their executives $40,000,000 BONUSES, I think that proves them more than qualified to spend whatever amount of money it takes to clean up their massive steaming shit in the Gulf of Mexico. Or would you rather slowly suffocate to death, because our oceans can no longer replenish the oxygen we need to survive?
LarryTheTubaBoy 1 year ago

Emilayyhdw 1 year ago
@Emilayyhdw i am not blaming them and they might have not caused it but they should've at least seen it coming and should have been prepared for a situation like this. Everything running under water through a pipe has to use pressure and everything that uses pressure has a gauge telling them they are using too much pressure..so when that gauge hit yellow or whatever they use, then they should have taken pressure off.

What makes me angry is that the citizens of the USA aren't willing to really do anything. They are just complaining at the government to clean it up. But its not their mess, its BP's for hiring an engineer who cant do the job. And they arent doing much to clean up. But if you were really passionate about cleaning up the oil spill, then go out there to do it or donate money to an environmental cause that will help clean up the oil spill.

people who are boycotting np, do u realizeing how many families you are destroying?
The gas stations are not owned by BP they are owned by individual families who get there entire income from it
boycotting BP will not harm BP but it will destroy entire families
Hex13337 1 year ago 14
@Hex13337 Are you fucking stupid? That's part of Capitalism, if you're reckless with who you align yourself with you deserve to go down! The families who own BP franchises were irresponsible, investing in a corporation run by incompetents too concerned with lining their pockets to run a tight ship.
LarryTheTubaBoy 1 year ago
@Hex13337 Furthermore, these families would have been SOL anyhow in about four decades or so, once people grow up and switch over to a legitimate, renewable energy source like solar. If they wanna run around and play the little entrepreneur, then they need to learn to roll with the punches or go back to their pencil-pushing or manual labor 9 to 5 rat race.
