Yes. Cecil makes for some drill sergeant and was the inspiration for R. Lee Ermey's character Sgt. Hartman in Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket."

Ah yes, this was actually the first Beany and Cecil episode to air, in early 1962. (The first episode produced was "Beanyland" in late 1959.)
