Great athletes. problem with MMA in general is it waters down the real martial arts. The whole "ground & pound" is such a waste of effort and energy, and why boxing, wrestling, jiujitsu, and kumite should be competed as separate entities. gloves and mats are necessary to protect the fighters, but unfortunately students of these "MMA" schools sometimes (not all) ignore actual self defense training.you never saw Bruce Lee doing the G&P, rather simple combinations of calculated and deadly strikes

This is too brutal to realistically comment on unless I was in the ring myself but its definitely not prize fighting and its not pro wrestling. Its looks to me like two fighters trying to break the other's will to win by any means. Its all about the delight of battle and what you take in the ring and what you leave with. I don't go to sporting events as a rule but I wouldn't mind spending some bread to watch one of these fights. Amen.

I hate watching things like this. My daughter is in training to cage fight she will have her first fight when she turns 18 so she has a year of training yet. I dont understand how someone can just beat the snot of or each other. However in her training she has become a better person and is a lot happier. Even though I do not agree with it i will forever support her.

I am a parent,mine is in her teens, started at Karate/Kenpo at 5, she's a black belt 2 dan by the ages of 11, she's now interested in tennis (good level not international, they all need the support, the experience of martial arts) helped her physically and mentally but I'm glad she's decided to focus on her studies and tennis,not sure how I'd feel her getting into the ring to damage these girls or worst just scrapping for scrapping sake,good luck.!

I see a lot of criticism levelled at wamma because the women are not as strong nor as "skilled" as the top level male practicioners and in many cases this is true...but you know what, I don't care! It's because even though it's an aggressive, combat sport. There is still glamourous expectations because of their gender. There is the gender stereotype that women must be attractive and being aggressive along with having the aspect of being attractive increases appeal. So wearing the gloves cushions blows to protect, not only their fingers, but their faces.

They have to keep cute for the ratings.
