  • That is absolutely brilliant. Enthralling to watch such a funny man. Sadly missed. Check out his many voices on Round The Horne.

  • This is the best performance he ever gave of this, it's so wonderful. I don't think anyone else could have made this so funny.

  • Bloody marvellous! Can't stop laughing, probably because I speak a leedle frog.

  • i have this song on a dvd of a show kenneth did sometime in the 1980's.

its so funny and another song which is a bit rude.

  • The guitarist is pissing himself...

  • FANTABULOSA

  • Did anyone think of this during Downton Abbey one week, when crepe suzette was served?

  • you clever git

  • I'm surprised he didn't use the word "rendezvous".

  • Yup, this is prolly my favourite KW song - thank you! :) Tho of course the Ramblin' Sid songs are...erm..."in a class of their own" (the only way I can describe them)

But this one is just so clever, and so FEELINGLY rendered! :P

  • This clip is from one of his several appearances on the Parkinson show. The lyrics are a carefully crafted string of words we have 'pinched' from the french language.

  • A comic genius. Truly sad that a man who gave so much joy to the world should be so lonely. Sadly missed.

  • Keneth williams did a rude version of 'what shall we do with a drunken sailor'

back in the late 60's maybe early 70's.

I have been trying to find it for absolute ages as it use to have me in stitches.

Can anyone upload this song by him please.

  • @saracen7 The song is already on Youtube. It's called the Drunken Nurker.

  • I thought this clip was from 1976, on the Kenneth Williams Show?

  • written or made up on the spot? funny either way

  • what is it with the French? i can't understand the way they exist and think. weird people? am i the only one who thinks so?

  • I'm getting this for my ipod. Kenneth Williams is amazing --and timeless! Love you, Ken!

  • I've seen the trailer about this guy with michael sheen, but all i know is that he's a comedian, and he had a sad life. Did he suffer from depression?

  • This man actually is a CULT!!!

  • How totally Crass and Silly .......... Only one word can describe this .... BRILLIANT .. RIP Ken you were one of the best!

  • Genius

  • Ken achieved a level of godlike genius with this number. There was plenty of chaff amongst the wheat, but this will always stand as a majestic self tribute to Ken at his very very best. I love the way he smiles when he finishes performing this. He knows he's captured something a little bit special.....and of course sadly it now stands as a sort of final farewell.

  • @davidcoppinbstoke with regards to ma crepe suzette - I couldn't agree more!!! Just brilliant

  • lmao that was sooo funi =] i knew he was good in films but had no idea what he was like in person. Some of the faces he pulls are hilarious!! Brilliant XD

  • Fantastic. He was terrific. I've seen him in some Carry On films and read his autobiography. I simply must read his diaries, wonderful actor, very sad person.

  • if you can see if you can get hold of some episodes of the radio series 'round the horne' he was superb in that. especialy as 'rambling sid rumpole'

  • Epitome of brilliance.

  • Saw this in a documentary about him and I think he was a fantastic entertainer. Very imaginative making a song out of French words we use :-P

  • as a frog living in the UK, i thought that was hilarious! thank you for uploading this!

  • Thank you for posting this! This song had me in stitches. I'm half-English but born and raised in French and this list of random French words and made into a song was absolutely hilarious.

Thanks to the videos uploaded here, I'm actually discovering the wonderful entertainer Kenneth Williams was. It is terribly unfortunate that he lived up to the 'sad clown' cliché. I look forward to watching more of the clips and maybe reading his diaries. Thanks again for sharing those gems with us!

  • Wonderful!

  • i agree with you conorthetaximan! i am now reading them for the 2 nd time this year! the diaries really opened my eyes to the anguish that the late great and not to be beaten kenneth williams went through all the time! he is one of my fave comedians! he is up there with frankie howerd sid james benny hill tommy cooper kenny everett russ abbott bobby davro and brian conley for me!

  • aww bless he looks so sad in this but he is 1 hell of a funny guy and he will be missed. luv ya Kenneth :) xx

  • Kenneth and too many of the other people from the Carry On's never had the life they wanted, they are all missed and there is no one to match them these days

  • I performed this at a church concert!! It was amazing, i think just remembering Kenneth Williams made people happy! he is sorely missed!!

  • Seemingly random French words... made hilarious by this legendary guy!

  • the diaries of kenneth williams is the best book you'll ever read

  • Absolutely agree. Brilliant stuff!

  • The modernist expression we are all looking for is......... LMAO !!
