I also have free range chickens and an organic garden. I drink fresh spring water. The 3rd floor is it's own apartment and I haven't been up there in a couple years. No one lives there. I just redid it. Nothing but real log cabins, timber frame homes and stone buildings. I find pottery that dates to over 15,000 yrs old, I find fossils and teeth from the Permian period and much more. Two of my cats have the same problem as yours. NYC is 1.5 hrs away and Philly is 2.5 hrs. The apartment is free.

Nice vlog, nice flowers. I found 2 things that help getting pills into animals (steroids are bitter tasting, so crushing the pills into food generally doesn't work). Ask your vet for a pill pushing device...you place the pill into the barrel and there's a plunger that shoots the pill right to the back of the throat. Alternatively, if you fill a syringe with some warm water and then drop in the medication and let it dissolve, you can shoot the liquid right into the mouth.

hey thanks! esp for the suggestions...yeah the vet brought up the pill pushing device, he said to use anything but my finger lol. he didnt mention this dissolving idea though. that might really come in handy...i wonder which is less traumatic for jimi...forcing the pill down him or nasty tasting liquid from a syringe? and of course the real question is, how long is he going to hate me for doing this to him? *sigh* the guilt...

With animals, it's all about trial and error finding what will work to make medication go down most easily...the pill plunger is probably best since liquefied steroid in a syringe would taste bitter. With a plunger, if you force a pill to the back of the throat and then hold the mouth closed and blow gently on the nose, the animal will swallow. If your vet doesn't have a device to give to you, places like PetCo sell them. Either way, plunger or syringe...Jimi will still love you unconditionally.

The next day after I took the footage animal control came and took all of them away plus the Moms! I should have filmed that because one Mom cat was not happy...she attacked one of the animal control officers!

Poor Jimi! WARNING. As you know giving a feline pills can be very difficult and some folks don't know how cat bites can become a real pain. So I'll give you this info, but hopefully you already know it. First of all there are cat pillers available. It make things easier. If in the process of pilling Jimi and his teeth break your skin, make sure to get medical care quickly. My wife got scratched by a tooth one evening and I wanted her to go to a doctor right then and there.

She postponed to the next morning and was amazed at all the work they did opening and cleaning the wound and then the extensive antibiotics.

One of our close friends was bitten by her cat and delayed going to the doctor for over 24 hours until she realized she had a problem. She is still undergoing physical therapy for recovering from the infection 3 months later.

In both my wife's and friends case the skin was actually punctured.

We got our cat piller from the vet.

the vet did say that i could get it in liquid form, but that it has to be flavored...would have to pick it up from a separate place..and that it would only last a few weeks...so for now we will be doing the pill. thanks for telling me he will get used to it...i hope so.
