There are several things that the post office has to deal with since they are tied to the government that ups and fedex do not have to deal with. But over all the post office runs very well, its only been recently that they have been a financial liability. 85% of Americans are covered with private insurance through their employers or post retirement. Older Americans are covered by Medicaid. People on welfare are also covered by Medicaid. So the remaining amount, un-employed or self employed not covered is 5% or 15 million people. SO why have national health care if you could easily have that 5% join medicaid? Because they need the majority to pay for the additional 35 million illegal aliens living here who would not pay any taxes to cover this.

I believe in universal healthcare but there should be exclusions; for example, if you've ever been convicted of a felony then you don't get any coverage. Plus, the government needs to invest more money in medical scholarships and better facilities so we have adequate manpower and resources.

Was born in 56, going to the doctor was no big deal, you got any tests you needed usually didnt need a followup you actually got better and Ive watched healthcare deteriorate since MANAGED HEALTHCARE came along, until its gone things will get far worse. I dont trust Washington dont want thier plan. But anything will be better than the present. So I am reluctantly for it. Now health care quotes avg 1400 - 1800 mo. I know, thats what we were quoted. 2000-6000 limit w/ 80/20 coverage.

It would be really nice if President Obama really took actions based upon his speach. I have yet to see anything in the HR 3200 that clearly states anything that he has said he wants to do. It is difficult to trust someone who cannot take actions based upon their promises. If we are to reform health care, we cannot allow the government to have complete control and oversight over it. But over all the post office runs very well, its only been recently that they have been a financial liability. Under Obamacare, this portion would now be covered by the individual at about $5K per person. Now for most Americans, 85%, that means health care costs will rise. 85% of Americans are covered with private insurance through their employers or post retirement. Older Americans are covered by Medicaid. People on welfare are also covered by Medicaid. So the remaining amount, un-employed or self employed not covered is 5% or 15 million people. SO why have national health care if you could easily have that 5% join medicaid? Because they need the majority to pay for the additional 35 million illegal aliens living here who would not pay any taxes to cover this.

I believe in universal healthcare but there should be exclusions; for example, if you've ever been convicted of a felony then you don't get any coverage. Plus, the government needs to invest more money in medical scholarships and better facilities so we have adequate manpower and resources.

More jobs will be lost (in the insurance sector/ private practice), medicine will become third rate, and inflation will be out of control. World healthcare data is based on acessibility, which says nothing for quality of care. I don't think Fidel would feel obligated to grant a 50 year old peasant the right to cornary care. The reason why our system is unique is it gives people the right to CHOOSE, and not be told what type of healthcare is best for them. Healthcare overhead is NOT being reduced but added, which any economist will tell you leads to inflation and unstainable prices for goods and services.

Well, once again, you happen to be just wrong. Many factors are considered, but let's just take a couple - infant mortality and average lifespan, both of which are reasonable indices of health care - and we rank no where near the top in either. In fact, the only health care statistic we rank as absolutely number one in is... expense. Oh - and you don't have much choice when your insurance provider dictates which doctors you can see, and how they can practice medicine, and which claims they deny.

The two factors you mention are NOT good indicators of QC. Infant Mortality rate is more socioeconmic, which even more supports the idea public care sucks the big one, and average life span is heavily predicated on one's lifestlye choices. Your making my pont for me. A private health insurance company that limits the doctors you can see makes way for one of their competitors to offer more for the client. It is not the goverment who should involved with the the natural progession of the market.

In conclusion, the goverment's intervention in healthcare, the auto industry, and banking sector is a NEW depression directly linked to Obama. There will be a run on the dollar and our goverment will be forced to print money, which will push unemployment and consumer prices to record levels. Umm - yeah. That's why countries like France and Italy, with notoriously fatty, starchy food, and a high incidences of tobacco and alcohol use, kick our buts in life expectancy. Makes sense to me. Must be the wine, huh, because it couldn't possibly be the evil socialized medicine - Oh, and when it comes to "socioeconomic" (which is what I think you meant to spell), they have their share of poor - but their indigent mothers actually get decent pre-natal care. Which works - go figure.

Spelling is bad, but your ranting is even worse. Yes!!! My point is how the hell can you rate the healthcare of a country based on foods one chooses to eat? And excuse me, I didnt know you have expereinced first hand the suffering of indigent mothers in the third world, but either way, infant mortality rate in this country is economic and not a good indicator of QC. QC will rapidly decline with more goverment involvement and there will be a trickle up effect for middle class families.

That's precisely what "lifestyle choices" are. And paying for indigent prenatal care is dead simple - it's cheaper than a lifetime of care for defective/deficient kids - which comes out of our pockets.

The only reason it's "unsustainable", is because this country is over populated, and the fact that this dumb*** keeps raising taxes that people can't even pay. If you want to fix things, then shut down sperm banks, close orphanages, and ELIMINATE TAXES!

I can't wait till healthcare is like going to the dmv or better yet the va. Wait a minute, no one likes the dmv or goes to the va hospital. I don't see any pregnant illegal being turned away from the hospitals now. Crack heads even get to go to the emergency room. Who doesn't get to get treated. Are their people being turned away from the hospital and then dying because they couldn't get healthcare? Are there a lot of these people I don't know about somewhere?
