Everyone's voices are great except for the band, they need to hire a professional band to do this event if they were to do it professionally. The band played like they're amatures and it ruined a good song.

she's ok but i think she should have sang beyonce's "halo" the way that she sang it b/c that way we would've been able to tell if she should be the hmong idol of 2009. Beyonce's song is pretty hard song to sing, so if she could sing it the way it originally is, i think she would've sound alot better. singing off beat like she did, anyone could've done that. and yes, i agree it should have been ALL hmong songs that the contestants sang. after all, it is Hmong Idol.

What are the requirements to be a contestant on Hmong Idol? Are there a free choice of songs to sing? It's totally awkward and to be honest, stupid! If they really mean "Hmong Idol" then require the contestants to sing Hmong songs and eliminate the american songs. How are the judges supposed to judge? Lame, much? Hmong Idol doesn't make sense at all!

Anyway, the performance wasn't that good. The vocal of this song is supposed to be stronger.

there are no requirements to be a hmong idol. you just have to be hmong. yes, there are free choices of songs to sing till the final round. i don't know maybe you should complain to HMSA as they were the ones who planned this and not me.

Challenge? Why be a hmong idol when you can't sing or speak Hmong? Why have the name Hmong in it? Why not teen idol? or something else that have nothing to do witht he whole American Idol theme.

The term Hmong is not restrained to the dialect only. It has many symbolic representation like referring to the culture and the identity of our people. Also it was term "Hmong Idol" because it was for Hmong people and the challenge was to sing a Hmong song. Many Hmong teenagers today lack the ability to speak let along sing in Hmong. That was the reason behind it.

To say that the hmong people who participated in the show could not sing and speak Hmong is a wrong assumption. You are not qualified to make that statement since you weren't actually involved. And I'm sure the American Idol theme was just an inspiration and should stop being obsessed over. That's my 2 cents. Stop hating and just enjoy the show.
