@burnit01 lol... well, neither. we never get snow like this, so it's definitely not tradition! but it was planned on facebook when the city learned the snowpocalypse was coming, so it wasn't entirely random either. ;)

i'm guessing its mostly adults and college and HS students? were there any littler kids involved at all? not that it matters just curious! Looked like fun and i usually hate snow!

@jusaLOSER lol... well it was mostly the young adults that live and work in DC. :) most of the demographic are students, interns, new graduates, hill staffers, young associates, etc etc, so not many of them have young children.  ;)

hey! my family is from pittsburgh, and my brother is arguing that pittsburgh outsnowed DC! i don't believe it... we got like another ten inches in DC today! can you confirm or refute?? LOL...

We were catching them because, there was no more snow in the middle.

After 10 minutes, all the snow was either packed in, or gone, so this was the only way we could get ammo to throw back.

I'm 3:38, red jacket, black hat, on the fountain team towards the left . Then I dissapear. I think thats right before I got hit really good, and had to retire. It was intense in the middle.

Everyone was just lobbing snowballs up from the outer ring, and there was a lot of accidental head shots. But. a moment to remember.

FYI: Umbrella was for the purpose of keeping snow off of the camera. It only worked halfway. Oh well.

i can't believe people are out of there houses...im snowed in
