First time I heard this tune...He was affiliated w Yamaha..and the rep, was this 60 ish old gtr player...Chuck...cant remember his last name...but a really fine fellow and he accompanied Scotty on a few tunes.

The ONLY pedal he uses is a Ibanez reverb unit. This is from the 80's when Scott used to do clinics for Yamaha. The is another guy playing with him by the name of Chuck Thompson who has sinced passed away.

I've been playing for nearly 40 years, heard them all, and Scotty Anderson is by far the best i've ever heard. so articulate, blindingly fast, clear, and clean. i don't think you could program a computer to play that well, and even if you could, you'd lose the inventiveness. Awesome and Unbelievable.

If you really want to think you've died and gone to Heaven, you should hear Scotty, his two brothers, and his Uncle Dillard play together. About the only time that happens tho is when they play at one of the benefits for some fellow musician down on his luck. They are very generous and caring people. So much talent in one family. Music has been the mainstay of their life for generations.
I worked with Scotty in the early 70's when I lived in Kentucky and he was just as amazing then. He has an uncle named Dillard that's just about as fantastic. You should hear them when they get together and jam.

i agree with nippercooney because in my oppion you would have to be the best in each style of music acoustic and electric country jazz rock etc... to be the best no one has done that lol so i just have a lot of favorites

Mastercollector if you've studied more than most you must have spotted a second guitar on this clip just pleying like a choppy kind of rythm . To mention the players i like most is who do i leave out because this page is'nt big enough , i know where your comming from with DG but different styles & different era's make it hard to say he's the best , just enjoy

nipperooney no I suck at guitar; a frusturated rythm player at best. I just have studied, watched, and listened to alot of guitar greats since 1969. I don't mean to compare or argue. Theres lots of people that voice their opinions on youtube. I guess thats the way I am. Believe me;if I had the money and with Holly Gattons help I would help distribute something to all you guys then no more talking would be necessary.

MC: I loved DG, and dig his stuff to this day, but he was no Scotty Anderson... no one is! There's not another person alive who is doing what Scotty is, as well as he is doing it. DG would have agreed, too.

scarface Thanks; all you guys are right. We should like them all. I met Scotty and he signed the headstock on my guitar. Scotty loved Gatton and told me they were soul brothers. They both seemed a little shy and just wanted to play without all the other distractions. My dream jam would be Danny, Lenny, and Scotty.mastercollector

smorgdonkey even gatton, breau, wes; everybody misses notes but the technique is second to none along with Breau, and Montgomery but Danny Gatton is the most thriling and spectacular player ever and it isn't even close. mastercollector

I just heard a final cut of Scotty Anderson's soon to be released cd and I assure you it will turn some ears Scotty's way....I do want to listen to more Gatton, but i have not been impressed with some of the stuff I see on youtube...very competent, yes...entertaining,yes....but the "bestest?"...weeeellllll Was Art Tatum better than Oscar Peterson? Too close to call that i think...

Scotty did a few clinics at Reliable Music, Charlotte, NC with a cool older Yamaha rep, playing comp chords. Scotty is the most amazing player I've ever seen. I have some board tapes that are just stupid good.

If you really want to think you've died and gone to Heaven, you should hear Scotty, his two brothers, and his Uncle Dillard play together. About the only time that happens tho is when they play at one of the benefits for some fellow musician down on his luck. They are very generous and caring people. So much talent in one family. Music has been the mainstay of their life for generations.

I worked with Scotty in the early 70's when I lived in Kentucky and he was just as amazing then. He has an uncle named Dillard that's just about as fantastic. You should hear them when they get together and jam.
