  • This song is hard. Praise God Christian music is not bad

  • i'd like these guys a lot better if they weren't christian. but i gotta give em credit for being the only backpackers in georgia, haha...

  • @phism Why would you like someone less just because they follow God?

  • @jesusfreakcody because it's an illogical thing to do.

  • @phism

    not sure if troll

  • @phism

or because it's not exactly enjoyable to listen to someone sing about things you don't agree with or believe in?

ya know, how you guys sue, jail, kill or otherwise ostracize anyone who doesn't agree with you about god? well, we say "i'd like them more if they thought otherwise". which one is worse?

  • Sound off if you with me because ATLANTA's where I'm from. Love the Decatur shirt.

  • It's simply divine!

  • damn, too much religious talk in the comments, I wish you people would leave it to interpretation instead of shoving religion in our faces.

  • @10lettername interpreting while ignoring the artist's intent is not listening to the artist but yourself...Mars Ill is a a Catholic-Christian..there's no way of CORRECTLY interpreting other than through that lens. When you listen to an artist, be open to listening to their beliefs, otherwise no one is forcing you to press play....

    Peace and blessings.

  • kanye west is racist fuckin faggit

  • @mattgmonney And you sound like a bigot. Congratulations on that.

  • everything is everything it's even spelled the same! Are you kidding me?! praise God when His people follow Him!

  • Manchild''s flow is second to none... Real talk...

  • im the graff writter jesussaves nyc and i must admit mars ill is one of my best and number 1 favorit gospel hiphop of all time even dough they all good but this is real hip hop..with out breaking mc ing graffiti or djaying on 2 turn tables is not considered as hiphop 2 me..one of the illest way 2 rep the gospel of christ that will influence millions

  • "my secret weapon is deep reflection and I believe / I'm probably talking to God if I'm giving you the silent treatment"

  • This joint is on point like Rajon Rondo!!

  • Music made with love!

  • I dig and appreciate these dudes not just for the dope rhymes and beats, but because, despite being christians, they don't shove it down my throat or guilt trip me for not being christian. They're just hiphop kings who happen to sometimes mention their faith, but always in context.

  • @bastlake and they relate faith to real situations all the time

  • "Sound Off" Is The Sound Of True Music. Mars ill's Rhymes Reside On Mars, People Here On Earth Cannot Reach The Same Depth Or Reason As This Kid Here. Not The Way Hip Hop's Going Today. Mar's Ill, Lacrae, J. Cole, Wale, Common, That's All We Got For Now. That's What We'll Make Due With.

  • I like everything about this song 'cept the line "real hip-hop is christian rap" real hip-hop is just real hip-hop. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • D WUEVOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • crap

  • mad props to these guys. i first heard this song last night and fell in love with it..mad rhymes and sikk beat.. one love brothas.!!!

  • Is there anyway to download this song?

  • @XGCGalia

    listentoyoutube(.)com

    or

    mp3ify(.)com

  • @randomdrew1 Thanks.

  • @XGCGalia might be alittle late ha..

but dirpy dot com is dope..

  • Can't get enough of Dust's raw ass sound. He smacks any of the "hot" producers in the face with his SP-1200. POW! sound off.

  • Not bad...check this guy out, too...

  • @Stefonae the name, "marsraps". : - )

  • The best underground hip hop is Holy Hip Hop, if you love old school rap and underground hip hop, but with a good message check this cats, they represent the true Hip Hop.

  • I know Dust ! :D

and yo this is some serious stuff, if rap sounded like this nowadays everyone would listen to it.

  • YO mars ill proves that rappers who rap for jesus can spit just as well as anybody else

  • this mother fucker is bad. someone gave me "pro pain" or pro pane....whatever its called

  • I would not even consider Kanye West "conscious hip hop."

  • this trak is obnoxiously def! my fav on pro pain. i got this trak on repeat for hours. didnt know there was a video, though. and rflol at you vid description.

  • so dope..... they need to make another album...

  • @imhh1

new album coming out the end of this year or next year i heard

  • I think Manchild and Sintax Are probably undisputed hip-hop artists from Deepspace 5. I think both of these guys should make a record together because a group of 2 is better than a group of ten. More concentration on illness other than different voice scatter, I know cause thats all I hear on these records. But Mars ill is off the hook.

  • manchild and sintax were in a group togeather called the pride they still do stuff as just the two of them every once in a while i think they had 1 or 2 songs on beat rabbi's deepspace soul

  • @hallowmadefin manchild and sintax do some stuff together sometimes under the name "the pride". i think theres a third mc, though.

  • @TheTrakkOursoniss

    high tech the recon

  • dust please produce for me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No point listening to the mainstream crap when there's Mars Ill and others puttin out real music like this.

  • Muito loco.... samucon - SP - Brasil...

  • "built the future sound on the back of the classics" DOPE

  • who needs to swear

  • Dope upload!!!!

  • i remember hearing of these guys when i only listened to "christian" music (whatever that means). since then i've listened to a lot of hip hop... wu tang, atcq, MF DOOM..... but these guys are SICK too!!! his flow is nuts.

  • yep!

  • "Start a revolution with the breath in my lungs."

Man I love this. Not a christian but I do love your hip hop. I grew up listening to Mars Ill, Deepspace 5, Verbs, GRITS, Red Cloud, Tunnel Rats...you name em, I listened to em. I still listen to this stuff because it's so much better than the radio junk. Big ups to DJ Dust and Manchild keepin it real in the A!

  • @ClearMindDontKnow Yeah, sick underground rappers keepin' it real spittin' da truth in every lyric can't sound bad. Christian myself and man a year ago I didn't know christian rap existed, and now I don't even want to listen to anything else, its just so sick!

  • thats hip hop and whats betta its gospel man

thanks god 4 emcs lik dis....paz y respeto bros keepit real

  • Is anyone who can tell me the brand of his blue baseball cap with da star??

    I wanna get one!!

If U know anything about it plz write!!Thx!

Anyway:they r awesome. one of my fav song from them

  • Man! The first time i heard Mars Ill & Deepspace5 i was like "WHAT, WHO" THat's real HipHop no dout! I've all their albums, i liked them from the day i heard them. True HipHop rught there!

  • damn these dudes ha ha

  • Song is dope! Especially that second verse

  • Mars ill kills it on the second verse with that fast flow.

  • These cats are 100% pro. I'm amazed that the mainstream has overlooked the body of work over the years. Some of the beats & sample twists Dust comes up with...just pure record digg'en & love of the craft. Great Duo.

  • i like the description, it makes you think

  • cool!

  • dj rocks

  • I wish I could find this album on cd other than buying it on Itunes.

  • I think I spoke too soon. I just bought the album at the store. It was a good find.

  • "pro pain's the album, now completes the hat trick/ that's it"

these guys are still my favorite. so dope.

  • Comment removed

  • dope dope dope(as i shake my head up and down repeatidly)

  • wow...i think this beat alone should be recognized worldwide let alone the song. pretty sweet bumps man and i usually hate this stuff. good job

  • soo sincare might even blow this yare

  • Sound From god!!!!

  • Much respect to the homies in that Un Stoppable Crew! Nice video, good track!

  • "propain the album that now completes the hat trick..." need more crews like this comin' outta the south 'cuz seriously, other than a very few... the dirty south has been chokin' hip hop to death for years.

  • dope flow, gorgeous beat...for real though, its probably just me but why do all the underground white rappers sound alike vocally, i mean, playdough, mars ill, atmostphere, 7l & esoteric, bliss n eso...its a conspiracy son

  • He sounds nothing like them. I personally hate Atmosphere and if they sounded alike I would never listen to Mars ILL. Mars ILL is easily one of the best duos out.

  • it's just the way our voices sound man. same reason 80% of rappers out there sound alike.

  • I've been a fan since Manchild murdered a track on the I'll state of mind mixtape. Raw material is a hip hop classic.

  • Mars Ill is sick!

  • I have two or three of these guys CD's...they're sick!

  • Dude, I mean the latest rap song by "Soulja boy" and 50 cent, sounds like a single line of bad rap repeated over and over, that does not take skill. You got people like the Mars Ill crew spitting the sickest stuff ever and I'd listen to their music over that other crap any day. Sound off!

  • thats rap, this is hip-hop...

  • @Theparableof0 it takes skill to write catchy hooks; 50 is a master at that. call him a sellout coz he makes club bangers, but shit i'd do the same thing if i could. his older shit was dope anyway; i bet every cunt that trashes 50 never heard power of the dollar.

  • mars ill is dope. not just because they have great lyrics but also because of who they represent........CHRIST!..fo sho!!!

  • Ain't that the truth!

  • @skillzthegreat you are a rare breed nowadays, brother that ill never meet but ill always appreciate

  • "speakers can't hold me,no man control me"

"start a revolution with the breathe in my

    lungs"

"chew you up and spi-spi-spi-spi-spit cha' oooooooout!!!"

manChild and Dust holding it down like obese elephants.

  • I love these guys, great group great music

  • This is such a great song. Makes all those fakes look lame by comparison.

  • ACK manchild is dope !!

  • atlanta is where i'm from

  • Their 2006 album "Pro Pain"

  • There are rappers who are christian and there are christian rappers. The problem is that most people can't distinguish the two and think its all the same. Mars Ill is sick and raw material is one of my favorite hip hop albums...they're not pushing a religon but you know what they stand for.

  • THAT scratching is ILL for sure

  • real hip hop is good hip hop, whether or not it is christian.. i consider myself agnostic but i love mars ill, sin tax and deepspace 5 and see no reason why I shouldn't... its funny to me, people will be fans of rap songs about doing PCP and wild shit no one would ever do, but liking a song that gives praise to God? its so funny that people try to make that shit sound anti-hip hop cuz if anything its all love and thats what hip hop should be

  • good word man...

  • who cares where hip originated from??lol....mars ill is fierce!!!!!

  • True Hip Hop originated from the streets of new york and was catalyzed by the new york blackout in 1977 that allowed numerous youths and teens to loot and steal electronics and musical devices from stores. This led to an outburst of djing in the parks and the eventual art we today call hip hop. The foundations for hip hop were anything but christian and without these foundations "chrisitan rap" would not exist today. Who is this to say what true hip hop is?

  • Not quite accurate. The Origin of Hip Hop wasn't the Blackout.

Hip Hop started in the Bronx in the early 70s, and its Origins came from West Africa, and from the Caribbean.

True Hip Hop is not about how much you know about it, or what ever. It's a Culture that connects People from all over the World. True Hip Hop doesn't have a certain Color, it includes all Colors.

  • .."but REAL HIP HOP IS SIMPLY CHRISTIAN RAP!"

    AAAH..THATS THE TRUTH.

  • That's, because nothing really matters other than Christ.

  • many things matter other than an a christ

  • chea chea! Thank you I LOVE MARS ILL! n.n !! God bless ya!

  • I think that hip hop needs saving and these would be the men to do it. not only are they great on tape but they are great in concert too.

  • mars ill is sick but i think atmosphere is better

  • mars ill is the best and he's better than have of these rappers today

  • manchild's got some of the wisest, sharpest lyrics i've ever heard, spiritual or otherwise, and its skeptical but still edifies, which i love

  • lyrical GEMS in there--- while they vilify/ we illustrate/ the illest style...punching thru the pop-screen/ there's power in these lungs...built a future sound on the back o the classics...straight fire! and great track and video Dust!

  • in my opinion any of the cats from Deepspace5 are in the higher ranks of truly gifted MCs, but in all this you got give credit to God for blessin' 'em with their talent.

BMA a.k.a. Ray Biez signing out, peace and God Bless

  • My soul is weeping. I know that I need to repent and cast out the demons that consume me in the name of the glorious Jesus Christ Almighty, and beg to allow me to live in his wonder and glory. I just was blessed with a son recently, and I need prayer from many to help me become the man that "HE" has prayed for in the garden! Thanks to anyone with feedback in his precious name....Jeremiah

  • my broz name is jeremiah and his 2nd name is amazandi wich means da lord is ma sheperd lol

  • Best Christian Rapper. Not one of them and probably one of raps most gifted not just Christian rap.

  • i wouldnt say the best, but in the top five in my opinion. T-Bone is really good, KJ-52, and tobyMac is way awesome. Mars is a very real about his experiences, kinda like a Christian Slim Shady, lol.

  • More like a christian Slug (Atmosphere).

  • i've heard that for years, and still have no clue how that comparison stands.

voice? flow? a particluar song? (SOHH)

the fact that they're white and underground? hm

  • His Voice reminds me of Slug a bit.

  • underground?

    atmosphere is on mtv.

  • manchild iz 1 of christian raps most gifted.

  • Mars Ill is Ill....

  • Indeed the whole album rocks. There should be more stuff like this.

  • one of the best christian rappers, like the style.

  • I ADORE THAT SONG... I KEEP LISTENING TO IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND JUST DONT SEEM TO GET TIRED OF IT... hahhaha

  • I luv style like dis.Dis song is not bad.

  • Excellent video, good clean underground.

  • imagination wrapped in sulafane!!! Stoooopid!!! Kid is sooo talanted. Bless God.

  • One of the most talented lyricists ever. Christian or Secular. I'd put him up against anyone. He tells a story and spreads a great message like no other.

  • this is Christian rap? this got flow, yo. dude is nice wid his skills. this goes in the "gotta cop" list

  • Surprisingly good o.o

  • FINALLY "REAL" HIP HOP for us (the christians.) I've spent years listening to the wordly stuff... EL-P, Aesop Rock... Waiting for a christian hip hop group like this.

  • Yeah, I was a big fan of Aesop too as well as Atmosphere. You should check out The Procussions, they are dope! Surreal & DJ Balance's CD, "Future Classic" is a must-own if you're down for underground hip-hop with a positive message.

  • Not bad... was looking for some christian rap for a friend. Disappointed that I couldn't find any of these guys to donwload =/.

  • You're right - I like manCHILD a lot better! I was thinking more of a freestyle thing since I just saw that sway and tek radio show yesterday...but I'm more of a Mars Ill, Surreal and Braille Brizzy fan for sure! :)

  • He should do a song with Eyedea and Slug -- that would be interesting!

  • with all do respect, i don't feel slugo and eye are as smart.

  • I also like the fact that he doesn't have to be all vulgar or get all nasty in his lyrics! Boy's got natural talent.

  • What an awesome tune. Good vid too. I love Mars Ill.

  • I love Dust. This song is almost as big as Spheres. I didn't feel ProPain was quite as good as Raw Material but still... Propain is a must-have for anybody who loves rap but is sick of all the played-out, bouncy-pop, glam rap that is poluting the airwaves these days.

  • dope video.

  • awesome video. Great work!

  • Yes...Please keep them comin' The bay needs you!
