But animals like chimps and tigers can never be trained to trustworthiness. Owners of such animals take on a huge liability risk.

If i have a friend and I go visit his house and I KNOW he have a tiger in his backyard and I go to the backyard to see the tiger with my friend and I get attacked by the tiger, then its my own fault. I have no right to sue my friend because I was not forced to visit the tiger, I have to take some responsibility myself.

Now if she told her friend/helper about the xanax then that's one thing but if she did not then she is liable. If i have a friend and I go visit his house and I KNOW he have a tiger in his backyard and I go to the backyard to see the tiger with my friend and I get attacked by the tiger, then its my own fault. I have no right to sue my friend because I was not forced to visit the tiger, I have to take some responsibility myself.
Now, I don't know exactly what happened in this case, but my guess is that its something similar which happened here. I don't think the victim should get any money.

Now if she told her friend/helper about the xanax then that's one thing but if she did not then she is liable. Chimps can indeed be unpredictable trained or not so if you make the decision to be near a chimp you’re putting your own life in jeopardy. This is why the chimp’s owner shouldn’t be held “responsible” for the incident. Just because she asked her friend for help doesn’t mean the friend doesn’t have the choice to decide yes or no. I guess my question would be . Did Nash not know the monkey could be dangerous? Its a tragedy but how do you get 50 mil ? My friends parents had a cougar while growing up i stayed at there house sometimes. If i were attacked i wouldn't expect a big pay check because i knew it could be dangerous and i had the option not to go there.
