As for Bumblefoot, I haven't seen him live like BH and Slash, but his stuff on 'Chinese Democracy' is awesome. I love his 'Shackler's Revenge' solo. Buckethead gets attacked because of his costume. This is the same kind of people who bashed KISS back in the '70's. Look past the visual image and listen to that amazing fucking music, that's what is supposed to matter.
All solos in Shackler's Revenge were played and created by Bumblefoot, not Buckethead. The statements about this by Axl, BBF and other bandmembers are omnipresent.

Bumblefoot is eons ahead of BH in terms of technical proficiency. He has active absolute pitch and a photographic memory for music. His music is ahead and more varied in terms of harmonics, melodies, rhythms, dynamics and overall theory manipulation. Being a Buckethead fan since ´92, and a fan of virtuostic guitar playing in general for even longer I´m really shocked at how encyclopaedic your ignorance on this subject is. There´s simply no validity to putting BBF down in comparison to BH.
If you listen to both their entire discographies, then it's clear that Buckethead is a pretty rigid pattern player. Constantly recycling the same or similar concepts and patterns. Bumblefoot is the exact diametric opposite of all that. He's really able to find his way in every genre without relying on all of these predefined patterns. In an evolving taste and understanding of music, Bumblefoot is the next step from Buckethead ... it's really not the other way around.
Gotta say, while I agree that Buckethead tends to lapse into the same patterns when he's doing "rock" material, I'd say he's more experimental than BBF in terms of the *genres* he plays in. And while Bumble may indeed be more technically proficient - and he's a lovely bloke, I've met him - his Nightrain solos tend to lapse into fretboard wankery, where BH's are more musically coherent. Plus, Ron doesn't do that lovely "mini-solo" that BH does at 2:40 - I really miss that. :)

o_o okay in the beginning axl's voice sounded real good, but then it faded back to its 2002 suckiness, its awesome how he's getting his original voice back nowadays xD

buckethead, in my opinion was a great replacment. slash wil always be the best for the band because hes original. i hate axl, but i have to give him credit for getting good lead guitar placments, bucket and umble are pretty good. both gave somthing to the band.

is more gifted ability wise but in terms of sound slash and many other blues/blues rock influenced guitarist kick his ass even though i love buckethead he is good too.

Buckethead IS Slash! Let me put it another way... Slash IS Buckethead! Buckethead always wares long sleeves, but sometimes those tatoos show near the wrists, looks just like Slash tatoos. Hands look the same too. A couple of times Buckethead was someone else (straighter fake hair, not as good).

Agreed. Buckethead seriously blew the roof off when he ripped into that solo, with the rest of the guys backing him up. Absolutely amazing. You never could get that with the old band (or with the 06 lineup for that matter).
