I've seen the whole movie here on youtube last year but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know where it is? My teacher recommended me the book and I loved it so much. (Aced the project aswell! :D) I would love to watch it again.
i don't think so... but well in 90 % of times it's true...there's always rare case here or there... like ahhh uhm... for exemple ...Twilight ! ok it's not a big artistic classic but well... everbody say that the original books are much worst than the movies...
@Raistlinh Well, "Dolores Clairborne" was amazing as a book and as a movie. Both formats are always different, you can't get a good movie rendering into video every scene of the book, that never works.
@Raistlinh, one kind of expression is painting, another one is sculpture, dance, writing, filming, singing, playing music... you can´t say one is better than another. Each one is a different way of telling or expressing something.Take a look at the "The shining", you can´t neither say the book is better than the film nor the film is better than the book. Each one is different.
You don´t have to see what are they telling but how are they telling something, you know... (sorry about my english).
@Raistlinh Not "The Sweat Hereafter", "The Godfather", "Jules and Jim", "The Lady from Shanghai", "No Country for Old Men", "The Killing", "Barry Lyndon", "Treasure of the Sierra Madre", "Mouchete", "The 39 Steps", "Rashamon", "Double Indemnity", "Black Narcissus", etc. The list goes on.
@Jkfilms7 Well I read everything from your list except the Gothfather and Mouchette and I watched all of them. In my opinion the books were better but everything is relative. You love films and I love books, thats all.
Well, The Dark Tower is one of the best's. I have finished it yesterday so it's my favourite for now.
My usual favourites are Neuromancer, The NeverEnding Story, The Lord Of The Rings and the Game of Thrones but i cant pick any of them to say it's the best.
@Raistlinh It's not really a fact; it's only a paradigm. But that's all right. Most paradigms are justified. About books and films, they are simple two complete different generes, so both are beyond comparison. Besides, what's "better". Isn't it a very relative word... It depends so much on the person who's giving out the judgement. Anyway, I like your comment... ha ha ha... ;-)
@Raistlinh that's not a fact, it's an opinion, but very often it's true, not alwayes ! by the way, i liked the movie "forrest gump" more then the book.
Is there an English version of this? I'm a fan of Michael Ende and I heard he hated the Neverending Story movies, so he made sure Momo lived up to his original vision. I'm very interested in seeing this.

@Raistlinh's "Every book is better than it's film version. That's a fact" :
Adaptations are usually made because of the book's popularity, so their main goal tends to be getting money, not making a good film.
That's why they're generally worse than the book that originated them. It's not so much a rule, but cause and consecuence =)
