  • HA HA HA TEE FUCKING HEE This has to be the best video on youtube

  • 4:37 True story bro

  • Do an elfen lied review.

  • voooooiiiiiicceeee?????????old voice better!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!

  • You're like the anime reviewer version of Yahtzee.

    *subbing*

  • Sounds like a casual day of a Japanese girlie she was in a music club....

  • You make good points with with all your arguments and I can agree with most of them to an extent. I guess I just really liked this anime and have no idea why.

  • ANGEL BEATS!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this show! it isn't supposed to be taken seriously as a music anime it's a slice of life and mostly the friendship between the characters!

  • It makes me sad that she plays the same make guitar as Tim from Rise Against used to...

  • So basically, K-ON is the Japanese/Moe/band anime version of the Taiwanese/fighter/live-action K.O one. No one EVER FIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @realdomdom everything I said is true, I love cowboy bebop, I watch K-On! because its a funny show with some great music trivia and you should probably not call others trolls when you've negatively answered 10 comments in an hour in an extremely immature manner

  • MOTHAFUCKING TEA

  • I would absolutely love to hear your opinion on Ouran High school Host Club

  • THE MOST ACCURATE REVIEW OF K-ON I'VE EVER SEEN SO FAR!!!!

  • Guys you have to read between the lines.

Cake and Tea actually represent Heroin and more Heroin.

So you see this is actually a fairly accurate representation of the Sex Pistols.

  • how can you dislike k-on ?impossible T^T

  • @cyruscjj IMPOSSIBRU. D:

Well, K-On is pretty much bull...

  • @krazykillerhippo or they never saw season two

  • best part of the video has to be 08:16

  • lol nice rant my fav dude XD

  • Azumanga Daioh and Nichijou are the good ones in this genre. I only got 7 episodes through K-On before getting bored, and I'm actually a fan of this genre.

  • Tea motherfucking tea.

  • I watched a preview disc that came with an Australian games magazine. It had episodes of several animes including this and Highschool of The Dead. The only anime show I enjoyed beforehand was Dragonball. High school of The Dead almost completely turned me off anime forever and K-On! got me in to anime. I never thought I'd see the day where zombies make me hate something and cute girls eating cake convinced me to get into it

  • @DROLZable What a twisted and fucked up mind you have. Yes, Highschool of the Dead is fucking bullshit, but K-On isn't really much better.

  • am i the only one who LOLed hard at 06:42

  • MUTHAFUCKIN TEA!

  • was that Jesse?

  • You mention Nana and Angel beats, but i don't see any reviews for these animes in your profile. Are you planning to review it or are we supposed to look elsewhere before deciding to get it?

  • Can we just make a meme or image macro about the tea?

  • ....so best show ever?

  • haha i love this review and agree with the score:)

  • good thing they did not review second season

  • i loved it and sesone 2 is better

  • The people who don't like K-On! hate it because they don't understand the concept of friendship since they're all friendless nerds who live in their parents basement and spend the day watching Bleach and Naruto. As well as trolling on YouTube comments like they seem to be doing here.

  • @DROLZable or they have taste

  • @DROLZable You sir, are a troll and a fucking douchebag as well. If you have friends and are happy, why would you want to watch stupid girls being ... uhm ... stupid? Unless you have a favour for underage girls.

  • @iadukoh only you can prevent wildfires.

  • I'm sure if this had a all male cast with nothing but good looking guys you would've loved it. Oh and Beck sucks. both the anime/manga and the singer.

  • @msgundam2 Are you sure you don't suck too?

  • Music Anime: Watch Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

Comedy: go watch Beelzebub, Pani Poni Dash or Full Metal Panic?! FUMOFFU

or just go watch Angel Beats! , Durarara!! or Ao no Exorcist (i like to use typesets which is why there are so many exclamation points here)

  • Music Anime: Watch Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

or just go watch Angel Beats! , Durarara!! or Ao no Exorcist (i like to use typesets which is why there are so many exclamation points here)

  • You must, but you absolutely MUST make the Haruhi SOAD dance seperate...it was...it was...no words here

  • Someone didn't watch season 2

  • @DROLZable Someone didn't watch Cowboy Bebop.

  • You need to see through the series. That's all.

  • @iadukoh Basically what I can gleem from your several comments is that, K-ON! is the anime equivalent of mean girls, CoaTDQ, SaT etc but toned down to where there is no significant conflict between the leading cast and the world, its based on all thoes highschool moments people can relate to where it basically goes, "We did fuck all that day LOL" and there is some how an undertone to the story that only university professors can gleem and truely appreciate.

  • Comment removed

  • @iadukoh And you need to see through glass.

  • So what you are telling me is that Nerima Daikon Brothers is more of a musical anime then K-on. Sweet.

  • angel beats made me cry =,(

  • @dooneythebug K-ON!! Season2 should shatter you in the end. Really.

    see this: /watch?v=x7LtnL3b5mw&feature=related

  • It requires attention to the details when seeing K-ON!. One movement in an episode can add a deeper meaning to another in a later episode. When a character seem to act rather odd, there is often a certain reason behind it, although it might not be directly answered. It is implied somewhere. It is very Japanese and Kyoto-ish in that karma and synchronicity is layered into the series which could have been just another moe anime like Azumanga, Haruhi, or Lucky Star.

  • @iadukoh Also going by that logic anime from the highly intellectual pedigree such as death note can easily be put on par with border line hentai such as queens blade by trying to gleem the subliminal interactions between the characters. This anime is not (as far as i can tell) written on the same lines as bakemonogatari, death note, monster, code geass etc. It is a slice of life, moe, musical with minimal actual music anime. Nothing more and nothing less.

  • @iadukoh "It is very Japanese and Kyoto-ish". Just listen to yourself.

  • Hi. See this if you think K-ON! series has no content (digest of season 2):

    /watch?v=x7LtnL3b5mw&feature=related

    /watch?v=GGT-kKgw6Eo&feature=related

  • Sorry, I keep on drinking the new year's sake... who cares about how a moe anime is reviewed by foreigners overseas, anyway? cheers

  • @iadukoh Who cares about a person drinking sake?

  • @iadukoh What are you doing drinking by yourself and drunk-commenting on YouTube videos? That is so sad.

  • It's a moe anime, but when it came out people were fed up of extremely large eyes, and extremely large tits and buttocks that were unreal and unhealthy. It was time for "unfinished knees and thighs of a usual high school girl" and "smaller eyes as possible" according to the young lady director in her early twenties. So, it's a moe fantasy that appealed to depressed men in modern Japan but still favored by women especially the teenage high school girls.

  • Anyway, it's just a moe anime. Just pass it if you don't like it.

  • Some things are left out because of budget constraints (Kyoani was making this in a small house in suburban Kyoto), but otherwise intentionally. It deliberately omits practicing because the theme is more centered to belonging to a club rather than making a pro debut. The loose goofing around is what you'd be reminiscent of after graduating. Those moments can't last forever. Practicing at home is carefully implied. The band plays in front of the audience and slowly learns the joy of playing live.

  • Also, I think there was a certain "interactive" factor. When K-On! first came out, the manga hadn't been completed, and both Kyoani staff and viewers weren't sure how it all should work out. It began as just "slice of life", nothing hilarious or exciting. Then, I think, the anime staff and the manga author started putting in new dimensions. The silly songs sold extremely well. The characters began to develop. Then came the covert references of maturing and overtone of what is good must all end.

  • Hi. I was just a bit too drunk on New Years Day, so please forgive me if I offended you all. It's fine that you post your own reviews, and I actually believe that some reviews are right to the point and I agree. It's just a moe anime that's all. If you don't like it, just give it a pass. I've never seen Haruhi or Lucky Star. However, there is a reason when junior high school girls to retired pensioners liked to watch K-on! after it was originally broadcast. It slowly grows on you. Best wishes.

  • @iadukoh I gave you a private message as a reply. Honestly I wasn't sure whether you were being serious, but since you put so much effort into the comments I though I'd give you a serious reply

  • @gigguk I wasn't serious, I was just drunk (New Year). Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu. Just keep posting, I didn't intend to discredit you or obstruct your reviews which I find are quite right to the point. Cheers

  • @iadukoh haha are you seriously defending an asinine show about dumb teenage jap chicks drinking tea

  • @MrKen2501 it is avant-garde as fuck as we're all just too stupid to get it

  • @TurboNemesis It's not avant-garde as f@ck. It just needs to be seen without expectations of being hilarious or exciting. It's just けいおん, in hiragana, adding a softened and loose context to the word "light music club". They belong to the generations after the rock band boom where everyone wanted a pro debut. In one sequence of the movie, those silly girls imitate and mock the bad of the older generation, pretending to argue over musical direction and style etc.

  • @iadukoh i havent actually seen K-ON, i was just making a joke in regards to the dissertation you wrote in the comments section. i might check it out one day, i'unno.

  • @TurboNemesis that or we are all just to dumb to see it for what it really is.

  • @darksword101 see the links below (add after youtube.com), if you have time and want to see something that's fairly entertaining. I also began to watch K-ON! as I couldn't figure out why it had become a phenomenon in Japan.

  • @MrKen2501 Yes, that's what I am doing while I drink sake on a New Year vacation.

  • @iadukoh But I see 380 like on this video, which would mean the way he's doing is reviews is working, you said you were from Japan but you might know this. Justin Beiber is a high voiced prick who can't sing for the life of him, But he has Million's of fan's, yes he's music is shit, but yet he's around getting girl's like you could never imagine. So moral of the story is if people like it just keep doin it.

  • @LunarCrestHero Yes, it's perfectly fine to like Justin Beiber. It's also fine to discredit him as perfect rubbish. It's pop thing, you know.

  • after watching the fantastic Beck anime, i was looking for another musical anime at the same level, and so i watched k-on!

and i'm still looking for a good musical anime as Beck.

k-on miserably fails as a moe and as a musical anime.

  • @lucbauer K-ON! is a moe anime (although it's healthily done) so you might not like it. It's also not a musical anime per se, it's more about friendship at high school. However, I think it does quite well also as a musical anime (see below and judge; add youtube.com in front), you just need some patience and attention.

    /watch?v=ZJ9SLmTCLEI&feature=related

  • @iadukoh Watch Cowboy Bebop. You just need some patience and attention.

  • i would eventually sprouted a vagina... XD

  • You should review BECK. its a music anime who, guess what? Has something to do with fkin music!!!

  • can u make a seperate vid of just u saying "motherf*cking tea" and the haruhi hard rock dance? :3

  • here's to you SOAD

    and you as well giguk

  • you live in england me too :)

Haruhi and deathnote that would be epic!

  • wow these ppl are so retarded and think they funny -.-

  • @monisu If you like this K-ON! you're fucking retarded and that's not an understatement

  • 08:20

i can't stop laughing!!! Hahahaha XD

  • watched it for the story, themes. and motifs about pursuing music and experiencing life. everyone needs a pick-me-up in their lives, and this was mine. suck it moe haters.

  • Lol-ed so hard at the Yukai dance part XDD

  • It's basically Lucky Star, but with instruments. So the fan-base is going to be considerably narrow.

  • 8:18 is just brilliant ^^

  • well you know this is the music that the japanese like not americans

  • @Kijion hes british.....

  • @Kijion It's the music carefully intended to represent the silly fantasies of high school girls in Japan. Like singing love is like curry being too hot so need for more rice (Curry Nochi Rice). Or the stupid Kansai themed song of a dream carbs and more carbs collaboration (Gohan wa Okazu), It's a Denpa (radio-wave) loony thing. The songs are easily played by real high school bands. However, in the end of Season 2 you'll know the songs weren't all goofy.

  • "Te fucking he!" hahaha lmao

  • Want a good music anime? Beck

  • WTF! i dont watch much anime, but even i can tell k-on is a peice of shit

  • -was drinking tea during this- ......dang.

    great vid review!

  • lol @ the Angel Beats part. That anime really failed miserably, I was laughing but I was laughing at the moments that were intended to make me cry. Not to mention that it wouldnt have made a difference if they replaced 80% of the characters with cardboard paper.

  • @justmedawg What????? Angel Beats is amazing

  • @123mario619 yeah maybe if you're new into anime. All the characters sucked except for Yui and TK. The drama was laughable at best, the comedy was bland except for the 2 characters I mentioned and the anime failed to live up to the quality of a Key product like Clannad or Kanon...

  • @justmedawg I thought it was an amazing anime, with great story and characters

  • Rambling that explains why these sorts of series have become prevalent.

  • mother fucking tea!!!!

  • See, here's the thing about K-On. I agree completely. K-On isn't a good show. The characters are stale, the plot is vapid, the backgrounds and character designs are bland, aside from the OP there is no good music, etc. Yet... I was still entertained. I'm honestly not sure why; maybe it was the character dynamics? Maybe it was because I liked the dub? But I just can't HATE this show as much as I feel like I should be able to hate this show. It's still (Azumanga+BECK)-quality though.

    Good review.

  • Bubblegum Crisis had some good music...

  • OMG Haruhi with Death Note music works...

  • @ISesseril So is BECK. It's Slice of life and Music. It's the same genre as K-ON, and in that respect, it's much better than this.

  • @weirdy8

    Opinion=/=Fact

  • Because I know you are joking, and this was pretty funny, I'll say that I enjoyed it because I know where my expectations were. It wasn't a plot show, it wasn't supposed to have any big story, it was just 5 girls in high school. I liked it, it gave me some songs to learn on the guitar. I liked the characters. It has some shitty moments but in the end

    Opinion=/=Fact.

  • I didn't get why it was so big either. Though it is bigger in japan with certain groups more than anything.

  • @darksword101 It went big as hell among Otakus but also among senior retired pensioners as well as high school girls who never heard of Jeff Beck or Jimmy Page in Japan. It's more about highschool friends in a music club that's slowly maturing and graduating. Very unexciting, but symbols and covert references are carefully laid out to work towards the end of Season 2.

  • @iadukoh well I can understand the High school girls and otaku whos obsession whose interest is in high school girls.

  • I am a fan, and i found this review hilarious

  • 2:33 "Give me the mic"....¬¬'

  • REVIEW MERMAID MELODY!! XD

  • and by next time do you mean sexually assault? haha i will never hear the the term "next time" the same way again.

  • Hand over your "Man Card" Gigguk! XD

  • BECK is so much better than this.

  • @weirdy8 Except BECK was about music you retard. K-On was a slice of life.

  • go n play call o duty or jump out a window cuz thrz season 2.

    your pick.

  • @01oo011

    Nice spelling.

  • @01oo011 eye'd wach seezon 2 cuz eye lik K-On.

  • wait til season 2! You were... right ^^ but season 2 makes up for... some of the things you said!! XD (The Haruhi thing was EPIC!! Is there a... bigger version??)

  • gimme dat angel beats review

  • After watching this review, I want Tea Cakes now and Milk Tea. Too expensive at Marukai. I just gonna make it myself.

  • Comment removed

  • Im going to go get me some cake and mutha fucking tea.

  • i want the time i lost watching this anime back

  • at 8:19 what's that song?

  • @sidewinder554 death note op 2

  • @sidewinder554 "What's up, People" by Maximum the Hormone :)

  • AWWWWEsssssssoooome!

  • People, just because only thing you can see in this show is moe, doesn't mean fans watched this show only for the cuteness. There is more to it than that, and I'm not the only one felt this way.

I'm sorry if it doesn't appeal to you guys, but you guys just sound like my grand father ranting about modern musics being loud and obnoxious. You know how tiring to hear that sort of things right?

Try to be open-minded and make more effort to learn about the fans if you want to talk about it.

  • mother fawkin tea LOLs

  • It's not just K-ON!, most Moe Anime coming out is nothing more than eye candy with mediocrity in every other field. When I watch Anime like this I see wasted potential. Beautiful animation wasted on stupid storyline elements and boring characters. In fact, I wouldn't even call them storyline elements. It's like this show was developed specifically to cater to seven year old girls and paedophiles.

  • @Kozoi At least I thought the comedy routine in this show was more entertaining than most other comedy shows. Especially the 2nd season.

And please, you and all the other haters should understand the appeal. Just because there is moe in it and thats the only thing you can see, don't mean thats all it has. Why do you think it scored 8 out of 10 in most user reviews? If it was just a cute anime then this wouldn't happen. There are a lot of people who share the same opinion like mine.

  • @nnecron

I don't find cute girls doing cute things to be entertaining. "Oh look, she fell over! Bahaha!" I find the humour in K-ON! to be about as funny as Hellsing Ultimate's slapstick routines. This is my opinion and if you don't like it then that's on you. I didn't say it was absolute trash - I said it was mediocrity which means I thought it was average in every other field, aside from animation and that it was wasted potential. Cry some more, fan boy.

  • @Kozoi I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, that would be stupid of me. I'm just saying that fans sees more things than other people do. For instance, your statement about fans enjoying cute scenes as comedy isn't true at all. There are memorable comedy routines such as Ritsu interrupting the girls study, which results to her doing this over the top barrel roll. I won't ask you to be entertained at scenes like this, but thats what I and rest of the fans enjoyed as pure comedic scene.

  • @nnecron

I know that your comment was an opinion, mine is too. I would've taken you more seriously and not gotten defensive if you didn't call me a 'hater' because I called something ordinary. Also, popularity doesn't dictate how good something is and that's something else that you said that I disagree with. The scene that you mentioned wasn't funny and I stand by my previous opinionated statement that K-On! isn't interesting and that Moe is mostly eye candy that isn't worth my time.

  • @Kozoi Ok, calling you a hater was my mistake, but I wish you could get my point already. I'm not convincing you to love the show. I already knew that the scene I described didn't made you laugh since you said the show wasn't that funny. It's neither about you nor your opinion. My point is strictly about fans of the show. People have reasons to choose their favorites and they tend to appreciate things you can't see. So I don't criticize anything popular for fans have reasons to like it.

  • @nnecron

Based around my previous response, you must understand that I understand there are other demographics in play. I've understood your point this entire time, which is that other people will enjoy different things to what I enjoy and have different opinions and perceptions. I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is how K-On! fans think this Anime is the holy grail of Anime. I see it on every forum I visit and it's quite ridiculous.

  • @Kozoi I think they are just overstating their feelings, and it happens for every popular medias. Besides the average user scores is about 8 out of 10. It may seem a little too high but at least its not 9 or 10. If people are treating it as some sort of divine entity, then they would score much higher.

But at last there is something we both agree. I think its not an amazing anime. Certainly not. I think so too because the main story is half-assed and yet the show rubs it in my face.

  • @Kozoi Plus calling fans a bunch of pedophile was totally rude of you. Thats why I thought you are disrespecting the fan.

  • @nnecron

I may have said, "It's like this show was developed specifically to cater to seven year old girls and pedophiles" but you must realize that this is an ambiguous statement; it could mean multiple things. In this case it means that these are but two of the demographics which I think the show was intended to cater to.

  • @Kozoi It is actually quite sophisticated, if you watch carefully. It's not a typical moe anime either, you'd see from the size of their eyes and tits and bums. It has fetish appeal to otakus who are tired of service shots and does not appeal to paedophiles. Towards the end of Season 1 and end of Season 2 you'll understand what it is all about.

What is good must all end. Relationships change but friendship and memory stays. It's not about becoming pro artists.

  • @iadukoh It is about girls drinking tea and eating cake.

  • Isn't stereotype is suppose to be generalization of ethnicity or social group? I know what you are trying to say though. You should have said archetype instead. And you should've included more example to explain why they are stereotypical.

And even thats the case, why do you complain about that? Its essentially a slice-of-life anime or something that resembles light-hearted comedy. If you know this, then why would you compare to a story based anime like Beck anyway?

  • LOOOOOOOOL u guys made my days thanks plus this anime makes NANA an sick anime :D

  • Comment removed

  • 8:20 just made me rofl! awsome!

  • lmao i love haruhi dance, kyon is the best character made after light in death note... damn i gotta finish haruhi :O

  • honestly gigguk just allow reviewing anime like this we already all know its bad already just by the genre if its true like you say that most recent anime is trash like this review shows like yu yu hakusho or a seinen maybe just stuff that might be worth watching

  • Well, I think Klaus has found his potential partner in crime. You have fun, boys. ;)

  • 8:16 blew my mind.

  • I think the whole point of the moe genre is to be insubstantial.

Like, seriously, after watching something depressing like NGE, or Madoka, or even Code Geass, it's always best to fire up an episode of Hidamari Sketch and enjoy it for what it is. To take your mind off the "loop" that serious shows tend to throw you in.

  • Sure, it may have no plot and cliched characters, I still love it's animation and music.

I personally find it funny. But that's just me. :P

  • EEHHHHH?!??!
