The silver coin challenge used to be hard for me when I had this game for the n64, but when I played it again yesterday on my emulator... I passed the silver coin challenge in three tries... try the skidding and brake method. It's very useful =).

This is my least favorite level of all time. It's so annoying on both the regular challenge, let alone the coin challenge. ...For those of you not in the know, Pipsy is the yellow mouse. Second to the right on the character select screen, just to the left of Timber (the tiger.) She's my favorite character from this game, and features regularly in my fanfics. I even gave her her own archnemesis (although that archenemy just happens to be Garcia... yes, the Beanie Baby! :p)

To this day, I am CONVINCED that Greenwood Village is Pipsy's hometown.

It's in the fourth world (forget its name,) which is carved into the mountains, and the instruction manual mentions that Pipsy lives in the mountains. Furthermore, the village is small, rustic, and idyllic... aside from the racecars, LOL. It looks like a great place for a mouse to live...

Well, that's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. Challenge me if you dare.
