LoL i think Ryabko was partying hard the night before demonstration look at the shadows under his eyes, considering everything he looks like kungfu panda, Systema Panda they should do a Real life movie starring Ryabko lol.
Systema is like a JOKE system, like a sketch on Saturday Night Live or something. Anyone thinking Systema is a truly effective system for the street has no real experience of combat, & certainly does not practice against a resisting (really resisting opponent). Some of Systema tecniques are so impractical & laughable if you saw them in a kung fu movie you'd be like 'come on that's ridiculous'. Modern Systema was created basically to con very gullible Americans & Europeans!
I would love to have Mikhail as mine private instructor :)) But the most important message is: Be a Good humanbeing and share Your Love! Entrust Yourself to one another
for all we know. those who all comment that this art and that art is bullshit never really knew any martial art. for all we know, they are just some fat, overweight, couch potatoes doing keyboard masturbation. if they are really that tough, these people who are trying to promote this beautiful art are not that hard to find. really. why don't you meet them, get a video record of your fight with them and post them here. that way, all these loudmouths would shut up.
bottomline...respect. no one knows what you practice, no one cares what you practice. but people should take care to respect the art that people practice. don't go on talking like your art is superior compared to this art. systema is a very good martial art on its own. so is japanese martial arts, chinese, filipino, malaysian and so on.. if people really want to test what they claim as the best or "superior" martial art, better test it on yourself first.
For any of you who think that this is all BS, let me point out to you that the man at 1:40 in the tan shirt is James Williams, who teaches his own personal method of systema here in the US. Just google his name, and you will see just how credible this man is as a martial artist. He is a pre-eminent law enforcement tactics and martial arts instructor in the US and is based in southern California.
Utterly ridiculous. Of course Russians are tough, look at Fedor Emelianenko, but this video is obviously a staged choreographed performance. That doesn't mean these guys are punks or that their fighting system sucks. But just watch the video. Guys are half-speed lunging at the master, making no real effort to attack him, and allowing him to manipulate their limbs and balance. Maybe at full speed the master can do the real thing. But the falling and flailing in this video are clearly acted out.
I've been to a systema seminar, and the instructors were really competent, they got me interested in this martial art. But when I see the likes of Ryabko claiming they can stop a heart by a simple strike, and calling someone from the audience to check the guy's pulse I still won't believe it until I see it myself. So his heart stopped and he's just standing there like nothing happened? Is Ryabko's punch more effective than a defibrillator?!

@koshkudro hahaha, my good friend, I guess you can't persuade people untill you inflict some systema pain on 'em. Moreover, people like dissrespecting everything while hiding behind a keyboard, so we shouldn't really take them seriously. Anyway, you've provided them with quite a good and honest explanation. Greetings from Serbia!
I'm no expert, but I don't see this working in a real and unpredictable situation. And I don't think you can simple tap a man on the leg and make him fall to the ground as if he has lost consciousness.
The fact that this technique of fighting doesn't work still stands, however. Thanks for commenting and wasting everyone who read your comments time. faggot.
I like to train with kettlebells, and i like sambo wrestling too, but this is a joke..i have Ryabko's dvd series (systema: beyond the phisycals, etc.), theyre are totally useless. I have seen many techniques, but these moves are quite funny in real situations, i mean useless, and dangerous to yourself, if you must defend against an attack..
No, i mean Ryabko's techniques are quite bad, not the systema itself.
There are a couple of good moves, especially in knife throwing..the systema knife throwing is the most creative, useful, and it's easyer, than the other, like in the japanese, chinese etc. martial arts. I was 10 years old, when i throwed my first knife. I have trained systema knife throwing, and fighting too, theire are absolute cool, not just an art, it's real fight..
zenobia, i have done many martial arts- jiu jitsu, bjj, mma, muay thai, boxing, wing chun, and to tell you- systema blows them all away, dont knock something until you try it. systema IS the most complete martial art.
No you haven't. Your list is clearly fabricated for the sake of argument, and the redundant inclusion of "mma" is laughable. I'm thinking you're another middle-aged, fat american (or skinny teenager) who thinks people will actually fall over when you stroke their arms and shrug your shoulders.
i dont really care if you believe me or not, and i think your pseudo intellectual banter is laughable. none of the things you say are true about me why can't i be a fat teenager? what strikes me as being especially arrogant of you- is that you can know someone their whole life and you still dont really know them, yet you think you know me so easily after one comment i made about martial arts. you my friend are a fucking joke. all i have to say is try systema before you bash it (Continued)
i will just say this- with keeping in mind that no martial art is the best- but that the fisher is. while i have met plenty of pussies in systema as well as in wing chun, or any other martial art i ever did. i have also been in the company of quite a few badasses from all those martial arts. and i will say this- the badasses from systema that i met, would not only wipe the floor clean with the "Badasses" i met from other martial arts, but probably break their neck without thinking twice about it
Wow. I thought I was just calling bullshit on a comment; maybe get a chuckle... What I got was a freaking essay. This is youtube, man! Don't take it all so personally. Note that I said nothing about systema, you defensive freakshow. Pseudo intellectual out, yo!
ANY good martial art that can be practically applied should teach you how to dispose of an enemy (to the death if necessary) within a few seconds. A systema man is not a killing machine. Someone who is good at Systema has a good understanding of biomechanics and of his/her body and how to function in a combat environment efficiently. Quit being tired of the WEAK argument and try to take a look at how they are using their bodies. Who knows, you may find yourself rather fascinated.
Oh I look how they are using their bodies my friend.
This is called COOPERATION. it's admirable when seen in the context of a salsa competition, but as a methodology for combat training it's the worst way to go.
And yes, I realize this is a demonstration *yawn*... but GOOD demostrations show a degree of resistance, give a feel of how the domonstrated techniques would be applied in real life.
These demonsrations however, are so compliant, so over-acted, they lose all martial value.
I wouldnt be at all surprised if it turned out systema was never used by the spetnaz at all.Combat sambo is something I would expect them to use but systema seems a total joke.
Combat Sambo is used more for the gen. military. Systema is specialized, deep, sophisticated, and subtle. There was a special on the discovery channel/National geographic on the Russian military and systema. There is no speculation to whether it's used or not. It's a joke that seems foreign to those who haven't tried it/ experienced this level of depth in martial arts.
Does anyone know where to find this being used in competition? I also would like to know that if the guys he is demonstrating on don't voluntarily flip over when attacked, would they still flip over? If I, never have been used for a demo or thrown, went up to a Systema guy and he put the move on me, would I fllip over like a rag doll like all these other guys or is that just their way of protecting themselves during the demostration? Seems odd that someone would go flying by flicking the wrist
Yes u know where they are there's spetsnaz demonstrations those are amazing then there's systema they have them in Canada for sure and Toronto i think Russia and Germany

Infantile personification automatically nullifies your credibility on this and any other issues.
You are entitled to your opinion regardless how incompetent or immature it is.
To compliment Systema proponents I have not seen them bashing other arts, schools or styles. Probably because they actually understand thing or two about them, which perhaps may not be outside of your potentials either, but so far you sound like a juvenile prick.
Correct statement: Red/Soviet/Russian Army H2H programs were/are Sambo based. Systema based training was used for limited segment of operatives in direct application to their specialty. Effectiveness of Systema trained operatives is very well documented, unlike their training methods. What is being discussed here is severely watered version tailored to safety of civilian practitioners.
Those who wish to validate Systema effectiveness are more than welcome to do so in liabilty free conditions.
right on! finally someone with common sense over here. demonstration after demonstration, but where are the actual fights or sparring? why doesn't that fat dude only 'practice' with his gayfriends?
Bullshit. If this combat system teaches to kick like it's shown - it's a money-sucking fake.
If these guys rely on street application of melee combat - why does the attacker act like a ragdoll? Hits and kicks not into the body but on the skin. Same for grabs...
How you you even attempt to make any type of rational, logical, informed opinion from 1 45 second clip? It is idiotic to even consider it.
Take a class. Get out there and see and especially feel how "bullshit" you think it is. When you get up off the ground and you finally stop crying, remember this reply.
i do not know about this too much but i know that after a several years thai box experience i still do not want to meet someone who is well skilled in any kind of ground fight. of course if i attack a guy i will not go and let me push down so simple but who knows... sometimes these guys are really crazy. i know a guy who is tai chi & kung fu master and i do not recommend anybody that bad experience i had with him when i tried to fight with him.
Why should we even care. It's his money being spent on bullshit trainings which are so less effective even than simple karate. Atleast he's done some boxing so he won't be totaly clueless in his life.
ive been watching systema for some time and for me it is just amazing...im a boxer but im going 2 train systema now it opened in croatia just can u tell me what is the difference between kadochnikov's systema and ryabko's and which u think is better and is it really that effective like 1 agains 5 thank u
I've only really been trained in ryabko's systema ... but because of its versatile, freeflowing nature with natural breathing it is the best for handling multiple opponents and getting to know yourself in any situation... it also trains fighting multiple opponents the first day of class in some cases (mine with vlads was anyways) ... but because it is a russian orthodox christain background they're all about nondestruction and will only encourage you to fight when its to save your life/ur family
To everyone who thinks this is crap. The Russian special forces (a.k.a. spetz naz) practice "System". Even if you disagree, Russia has one of the best trained special forces in the world.
My friend, please listen to me :) I live in Russia, my grandfather fought against nazi in 1941-5, my uncle served as a board guard. There's no Systema training in Russian army!!! Our SPETZNAZ learns tough Sambo(!), not gymnastics for little girls like Systema. Spetznaz consist of angry lumpen-like guys who loves to crash sculls but not to dance in the way Ryabko offers!
The STATE can be reached by the YEARS of training in EVERY martial art (then it really becomes a martial ART). There's proverb "all ways meet on the peak". But difference beetween Systema and contact(!) and fullspeed(!) MA is that muay-thai, kickbox etc gives you skill of self defenct on early stage of training. But you must study systema aprx for 10 years to beat someone. In this case systema is similar for aikido.
How's that true?? my buddy use to teach it out of the port hope school who was out of the toronto head quarters under vlad n he beat me everytime .. he trained for a year and a half i have 12 yrs total in a variety of martial arts with high results in competitions
so you're saying one can pick it up quickly? Well i'm sure its possible but I'm sure you have to be talented to pick it up quickly none the less because it's more of a state of mind and an art which takes a while to get you head around. Thats the way I see it.
Systema is good for Shakespearean actors and up-and-coming pratfall comedians who need a basic introduction into their respective field. However, systema will only get you so far on the professional circuits. You'll need more advanced stuff. Dane Cook is a user of systema. However, that has limited him severely on the professional circuits. Gallagher, Pat Roberts and Fidel Castro are all pinnacle examples of this art form at it's zenith.
im happy to see, many people cant fight.. muhahah keep on train like you do.. if you like to test it on the street.. train an other style, or more intens
You can't draw any conclusions about things like this until you experience it yourself.

There are a couple of good moves, especially in knife throwing..the systema knife throwing is the most creative, useful, and it's easyer, than the other, like in the japanese, chinese etc. martial arts. I was 10 years old, when i throwed my first knife. I have trained systema knife throwing, and fighting too, theire are absolute cool, not just an art, it's real fight..

...oh, and my favorite is the russian knife throwing god, Fedin :)

zenobia, i have done many martial arts- jiu jitsu, bjj, mma, muay thai, boxing, wing chun, and to tell you- systema blows them all away, dont knock something until you try it. systema IS the most complete martial art.
XIPM3 2 years ago
No you haven't. Your list is clearly fabricated for the sake of argument, and the redundant inclusion of "mma" is laughable. I'm thinking you're another middle-aged, fat american (or skinny teenager) who thinks people will actually fall over when you stroke their arms and shrug your shoulders.
MrAccidental 2 years ago
i dont really care if you believe me or not, and i think your pseudo intellectual banter is laughable. none of the things you say are true about me why can't i be a fat teenager? what strikes me as being especially arrogant of you- is that you can know someone their whole life and you still dont really know them, yet you think you know me so easily after one comment i made about martial arts. you my friend are a fucking joke. all i have to say is try systema before you bash it (Continued)
XIPM3 2 years ago
i will just say this- with keeping in mind that no martial art is the best- but that the fisher is. while i have met plenty of pussies in systema as well as in wing chun, or any other martial art i ever did. i have also been in the company of quite a few badasses from all those martial arts. and i will say this- the badasses from systema that i met, would not only wipe the floor clean with the "Badasses" i met from other martial arts, but probably break their neck without thinking twice about it

what are you waiting for....Ryabko and Vasiliev are not hard to find
talkfan 2 years ago 3
ANY good martial art that can be practically applied should teach you how to dispose of an enemy (to the death if necessary) within a few seconds. A systema man is not a killing machine. Someone who is good at Systema has a good understanding of biomechanics and of his/her body and how to function in a combat environment efficiently. Quit being tired of the WEAK argument and try to take a look at how they are using their bodies. Who knows, you may find yourself rather fascinated.
shazsanfrancisco 2 years ago
Oh I look how they are using their bodies my friend.
This is called COOPERATION. it's admirable when seen in the context of a salsa competition, but as a methodology for combat training it's the worst way to go.
And yes, I realize this is a demonstration *yawn*... but GOOD demostrations show a degree of resistance, give a feel of how the domonstrated techniques would be applied in real life.
These demonsrations however, are so compliant, so over-acted, they lose all martial value.

a kind of "how fighting might be like if your attackers wanted to lose" interperative dance.
RonnySayfan 2 years ago
I wouldnt be at all surprised if it turned out systema was never used by the spetnaz at all.Combat sambo is something I would expect them to use but systema seems a total joke.
billysue2 2 years ago
Combat Sambo is used more for the gen. military. Systema is specialized, deep, sophisticated, and subtle. There was a special on the discovery channel/National geographic on the Russian military and systema. There is no speculation to whether it's used or not. It's a joke that seems foreign to those who haven't tried it/ experienced this level of depth in martial arts.

you are exactly every imbecile i have ever encountered

Does anyone know where to find this being used in competition? I also would like to know that if the guys he is demonstrating on don't voluntarily flip over when attacked, would they still flip over? If I, never have been used for a demo or thrown, went up to a Systema guy and he put the move on me, would I fllip over like a rag doll like all these other guys or is that just their way of protecting themselves during the demostration? Seems odd that someone would go flying by flicking the wrist

Dear FoOji,
Infantile personification automatically nullifies your credibility on this and any other issues.
Best of luck
KamaZsUtra 3 years ago 3
Correct statement: Red/Soviet/Russian Army H2H programs were/are Sambo based. Systema based training was used for limited segment of operatives in direct application to their specialty. Effectiveness of Systema trained operatives is very well documented, unlike their training methods. What is being discussed here is severely watered version tailored to safety of civilian practitioners.
Those who wish to validate Systema effectiveness are more than welcome to do so in liabilty free conditions.
KamaZsUtra 3 years ago
right on! finally someone with common sense over here. demonstration after demonstration, but where are the actual fights or sparring? why doesn't that fat dude only 'practice' with his gayfriends?

Bullshit. If this combat system teaches to kick like it's shown - it's a money-sucking fake.
If these guys rely on street application of melee combat - why does the attacker act like a ragdoll? Hits and kicks not into the body but on the skin. Same for grabs...
egorych 3 years ago 2
How you you even attempt to make any type of rational, logical, informed opinion from 1 45 second clip? It is idiotic to even consider it.
Take a class. Get out there and see and especially feel how "bullshit" you think it is. When you get up off the ground and you finally stop crying, remember this reply.

i do not know about this too much but i know that after a several years thai box experience i still do not want to meet someone who is well skilled in any kind of ground fight. of course if i attack a guy i will not go and let me push down so simple but who knows... sometimes these guys are really crazy. i know a guy who is tai chi & kung fu master and i do not recommend anybody that bad experience i had with him when i tried to fight with him.

ive been watching systema for some time and for me it is just amazing...im a boxer but im going 2 train systema now it opened in croatia just can u tell me what is the difference between kadochnikov's systema and ryabko's and which u think is better and is it really that effective like 1 agains 5 thank u
Bombandier 3 years ago

Soultaker2023 3 years ago
My friend, please listen to me :) I live in Russia, my grandfather fought against nazi in 1941-5, my uncle served as a board guard. There's no Systema training in Russian army!!! Our SPETZNAZ learns tough Sambo(!), not gymnastics for little girls like Systema. Spetznaz consist of angry lumpen-like guys who loves to crash sculls but not to dance in the way Ryabko offers!

is systema really a ancient art or is that what their just telling us in the west?
jazz123214 3 years ago
its not a art, its like a state of mind. there is no moves, just human reaction and the knowlege of body mechanics.
killaxm 3 years ago
do you train in systema?
jazz123214 3 years ago
well i havent had much experience but im getting there.
killaxm 3 years ago
Systema is not ancient. It's a fairy tale for american people. Russia has a long TRADITION in fisticuffs fights, but NOT A TECHNIQUE!
bzetpopr 3 years ago
systema is NOT A TECHNIQUE. it is like the mental state where you can do everything correctly and effectively.
killaxm 3 years ago 2
The STATE can be reached by the YEARS of training in EVERY martial art (then it really becomes a martial ART). There's proverb "all ways meet on the peak". But difference beetween Systema and contact(!) and fullspeed(!) MA is that muay-thai, kickbox etc gives you skill of self defenct on early stage of training. But you must study systema aprx for 10 years to beat someone. In this case systema is similar for aikido.
bzetpopr 3 years ago 2
Sorry for my english...I have little practice last yers(

How's that true?? my buddy use to teach it out of the port hope school who was out of the toronto head quarters under vlad n he beat me everytime .. he trained for a year and a half i have 12 yrs total in a variety of martial arts with high results in competitions
11younggun11 3 years ago
so you're saying one can pick it up quickly? Well i'm sure its possible but I'm sure you have to be talented to pick it up quickly none the less because it's more of a state of mind and an art which takes a while to get you head around. Thats the way I see it.
OriginalAtomicSheep 3 years ago
Systema is good for Shakespearean actors and up-and-coming pratfall comedians who need a basic introduction into their respective field. However, systema will only get you so far on the professional circuits. You'll need more advanced stuff. Dane Cook is a user of systema. However, that has limited him severely on the professional circuits. Gallagher, Pat Roberts and Fidel Castro are all pinnacle examples of this art form at it's zenith.
