Colin Powell endorses Obama

Why isnt Powell a presidential candidate? He would make an excellent President. And if a man with his experience and stature endorses Obama, then why would McCain be a better choice?

Also, you did not find it odd when all the blacks voted for whites before. So, you are basically saying that if a good black candidate the blacks feel strongly about comes along, we should not vote for that person, because whites will accuse of of voting for them because they are black? You don't complain when everyday overwhelming numbers of whites vote for whites in many things. We don't complain about it, but now we support a good black candidate and you complain? Obama is clearly on point.

What you don't understand is that blacks are under a different scrutiny then whites. Blacks are more willing to be open minded towards another black, and therefore it is easier for us to recognize the greatness in another black, just as it is easier for you as a nonblack to not get it. People tend to be able to relate better in general with people with simlar culture, just as you probably relate to whites better. Most of us would not support a bad black dandiate. Obama happens to be on point.

Thank You General Powell for saying out loud what I have been waiting 4 someone of Your stature to say 4 so long. So what if someone is Muslim, Arab, Asian, Buddhist or whatever. So what is someone is not 100% Caucasian or Christian. There Is Only One Human Race, We Are All Pink On The Inside, We Are One. Why is it that when a white person supports a white person it is no big deal but when a black person supports a black person there is an issue? Imagine if white folks who supported white folks were questioned like that. What about when whites supports blacks? Why are they doing it? What about when blacks support whites? Why can't it be accepted many blacks just think Obama is a better candidate as many whites and other non blacks do.

Yes!!!! Alas, the Republicans are already saying that they are "not surprised" by Powell's endorsement, which is code for "it's not relevant" and "it's because he's black". And, of course, they're wrong on both counts. Powell is a widely respected person, who ironically helped to establish a policy in Iraq that Obama has always opposed. This is quite the endorsement!
