this is classic a-ha, i was a fan of their music in the 80's,and this takes me back to that time of my life oh my god what memories,the best time of my life i love all of their music, but especially this song it's the best, it brings tears to my eyes i never get tired of it,regards.
I've loved A-ha for so many years now. I'm from the UK and heard there music for the first time when I was a teenager, and I still love it today. I haven't supported them as much as I should have though, they deserve so much more in terms of recognition.
Its so nice to be living in Norway now and seeing all those weather and landscape changes! I can on the summer and it was perfect! green forests and blue skies! then turnet to yellow and red.. and now its all white and snowing outside! The wide audience can't realise their greatness. Paradoxically Analogue was heard quite a lot on a specific radio station!

About the song: in the beginning, he seems to be in love but he doesn't know and then he starts questioning it.
I think that the lifelines part just refers to the fact that nothing is never set in stone and that every love can fade, therefore you need to have a lifeline to hang on to. Think he just means that you gotta stick to your basics no matter what and never give up on love nor life.
i agree, but i guess the song can be inturprted many ways. my old way of inturpreting it was to not waste your life and to enjoy every moment but it also had a little love story in it.
I makes sence to me, but still i can't understand if there's a clear meaning for it. The only thing I know is that it's not a typical love song, it's somethings a lot deeper than that.
After watching this again, it seems Morten's vocals, in my opinion, really reach in and touch that part of the human experience that rhythm and blues have traditionally laid claim to. Call it angst, longing, or the persistant pursuit of an elusive reality, but he, along with his bandmates, gives voice to a broad spectrum of largely undefinable, difficultly expressed emotions. A-ha's music is truly surreal and it's a shame America sold them short - our loss.
I always felt much the same way about A-ha. Fortunately, for me, I've been a fan from the begining and have followed them on their musical endeavors! They're my all time favorite band!
These guys are in a class by themselves and it's a tragedy America mistakenly pegged them as "One-Hit Wonders." Because of that, it's virtually impossible to find their music here anymore and that's been the case for years. Thank goodness, then, for mail order and YOUTUBE. Thanks for sharing the great video.
