Please don't ruin Hip hop, stick to your music cause you obviously don't know hip hop. Plus Mos Def is not one who can be out did. thanks for trying though.. :)
I mean, I like the idea... a rock and roll version of this song could be really, really cool, but the execution was terrible. Get a drummer (beat is key to hip-hop), and split up the guitar/vocal duties. Tighten up the timing. Stop waiting so damn long between lyrics... did you forget them?
I hope this came off as more constructive than critical. but ya, you ruined a really good song doing it solo.
I'm covering this song with a full band. We're keeping everything the same (same changes and vocals) but messing around with drums and bass, and adding guitar solo/lead. I agree, this guy didnt even keep the same chord changes and turned it into something completely different save the lyrics.
1- the lack of a beat leaves the song dragging, you could any beat behind you and it would drive the song 10x better
2- the ecco is really annoying
3-if you made the chorus a little more upbeat it would make basic sense, at the moment the chorus sounds the same as the rest, it would be nice to provide some change of pace
good take. I'm a huge fan of this song, and I commend your bravery in covering it. does kind of get tedious, but not to an extent where i dislike it. much respect.xx
Dude. Really?

thanks for the feedback. I realize that it was a risky decision to try to cover the song in the first place.

What in goodness name is that film playing over your face?
The whole time I was watching this, I kept getting distracted from the music part thinking, "is that person wearing a kimono?"
