@lomeinboi I have seen that before and have to say I personally disagree with motojeff on nearly every single point. I have an RSI in red size small and have no issues with it that would lead me to believe it is a bad helmet. Currently I have just over 40 helmets I have ridden in and continue to ride in. I use this experience to help me give realistic reviews.
@Sportbiketrackgear I have 2 RSI helmets 1 normal, 1 Carbon and a also have a RSR2 Carbon, but becouse the visor can't be locked it is not good to ride on the streets where you open and close your visor often, thats why i only use the RSR as a circuit helmet.
I was shocked when you said they run a size large, I was expecting you to say a size small. The RSI I tried on in XL felt like it was crushing my brain. I ended up with an L Shoei RF1100 which is the best fitting helmet I've ever owned. That limited experience also left me with the impression that riders who wear glasses for any reason: the RSI is absolutely not for you!
@XH1927 I measure 58 cm on the money and wear a small in the RSI and a medium in the RSR2. I have 1 RSI and 4 RSR2's. I do not wear glasses if that helps. Remember head shape can have a major influence on helmet fit. I am a solid intermediate oval.
@XH1927 This RSi line is perfect for oval shaped heads, like mine. My head is an intermediate oval shape, 63cm, and the RSi size XL fits me like a glove. On the other side, my brother's head is round, and measures the same 63cm, and this helmet is very tight in the front, for him. So if your head is not oval shaped, do not buy this helmet without trying it first. It is a very good helmet, I like it a lot.
I know the RSR2 is for VERY round heads, I have decided to get rid of mine because it is just way too round. Does this helmet fit a more oval type head?
Also my RSR2 is a small and too tight in the front and about perfect on the sides, should I go all the way down to a XS in this helmet?
I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that my rsr2 is the same way, but it also hurts my ears on the sides. My rsi in the same size has more room all around and i'm going 1 size smaller for my next rsi. I tried to put a size smaller rsr2 on and it was not going to happen.
i just bought my first shark RSi helmet yesterday. outof the 7 helmets i tried on, i ranked the shark no. 2. no. 1 was the arai vector, which was extremely comfortable, but way out of my price range, so i think for the price that the rsi is, it is an unbeatable helmet
i tryed out an RSR2 and an RSX in extra small which is the size the fits me nice and snug unfortunately I HAVE A BIG NOSE!! LOL!! My nose rubs up against the front of the helmet pretty good!! I tryed on the RSF in extra small and there is a clearance for my nose, I'm wondering if the RSF and the RSI fit identically?? I would rather get an RSI but there are none locally to try on.
I bought an RSI from your site, based on your comments. I just wasted ~70 bucks on shipping and time. It fits more like an RSX or RSR2 with my nose hitting the chin bar still. I googled it, apparently I'm not the only one with this problem. I could tell my lips were also unusually close to the chinbar, too bad cuz the helmet fit very well otherwise. On a clearance rack at a local shop I tried on an RSF2i and it had more clearance. is the RSF2i and the RSF3 the same???
I have never seen or worn an RSF2i. If you have an issue with nose clearance with this helmet you may experience this with many brands IMO. I do not exactly have a small beak and have zero issue with clearance.
tried on shoei, arai, scorpion, kbc, icon, agv in the appropriate sizes and never had this problem. Mind you were talking millimeters here, just a few more millimeters and this wouldn't be an issue.
No knock on STG or shark, the helmet was great otherwise, just a heads up for others.
The RSX is one model above the RSI in the Shark line up. It is being rreplaced because it is very similar to the RSR2 and for that reason sales were slow a bit
the sizing info was totally helpful. I normally wear M in most helmets but I took the advice and ordered S and it fits me spot on. thanks sportbiketrackgear.
I would suggest the small in the RSI if you are wearing a medum in the EXO-1000. I also wear a medium in the Scorpion EXO-1000 and have to wear a small in the Shark RSI for a proper fit. Hope this helps
What would you have to say about the comments made by the response video from motojeff?

@lomeinboi I do not see any comments from motojeff in this section???

The RSR is not menth for street use, the RSI is!
TheYamR6Sp 1 year ago
@TheYamR6Sp The RSR2 can be used on the street or the track. There is no reason in the world the RSR2 would not be appropriate on the street.

how would this compare to the shoei rf1100? iknow they are in different price ranges but how close does the shark rsi come
allenstridezandi 1 year ago
@allenstridezandi The Shoei RF1100 is superior to the RSI IMO. I would choose the RF1100 if you are choosing between the 2.

Are you sure it was the rsi and not the rsr2? Big difference between the two helmets in the same size.

Good review. I'm onto my second shark helmet now, and it's the exact RSI this guys showing. Previously had RSR, I'm really happy with it.
Just one thing to consider, I don't find that the RSI runs absolutely one size larger...
My RSR was a large, and I needed a large in the RSI too.

Brian, do you know what the usa flag scheme is called? there are 2 graphics with an american flag going on.
I also love the brazilian flag edition which is in the rsr2 and the rsi lineups.
mjfan123085 2 years ago
That was available in the RSX model which has been discontinued. We have one or two left now.
Sportbiketrackgear 2 years ago
i have an rsx, why are they being discontinued? i was under the impression that rsx was "better" than rsi, and their just deleting the model?

Hey man I bought a Shark RSI with Laconi graphics and it is an awesome helmet in all regards from the quality of graphics, weight and comfort.
I hope you sell a ton of these.
Gdev27 3 years ago
The RSX and the RSR2 size the same IMO. If you are a medium in the RSX order a medium in the RSR2
Sportbiketrackgear 3 years ago
How does the fit compare to an RSX? I had an RSX Medium- perfect. I'm typically a Med.
