*I feel bad when he brings up "if GERMANY doesn't want to fight....Germany, the Michael Jordan of war". Germans try really hard to shake the past off themselves everyday. As an American living here in Germany I hear stories of German school trips going to France/Belgium/Netherlands and ppl TODAY throwing things at their buses b/c of WW2, ppl being cautious about waving the German flag for the World Cup.... LOVE Jon Stewart, but felt the need to point that out.

you can tell he is self-conscious about his weight/body; he keeps his arms up to hide his man-boobs, he moves in a way that you can only see him from the sides, he keeps his shoulders shrugged and chest caved inwards. I dunno,

Isn't it funny how after more than 60 years the ONLY joke that is made about my country (Germany) is on us still being the "war nation"? Yes, we've learned from our history and you'll be hard pressed to find a society that is more averse to military action ( other than the UN sanctioned missions our army is currently involved in). I think we could say Germany started WWI because of the bid for world power they were making. The immediate term causes would be Austria-Hungary's actions and the assassination by Serbia, but those proximate causes fit into the bigger framework of the damned Germans trying to be top dog. Not like they were innocently sitting around as Austria did its thing, yah know?
