@ironmannichi Alittle advise, The bigger they have grown = the longer they have been there. So it would carry alot of bacteria and probably been subject to insects and other bugs. The "psilocbin" is more potent and is mostly contained in the stem of the Mushroom, so the smaller you find them,. the better. The small ones can usually be more potent as-well.

You should really be snapping them SHROOMS of at the stem, not ripping them out-of the ground...They'll be back

You are right about how to go about harvesting the mushroom, but you are misinforming people on the content of psilocybin in the stems of mushrooms this is a common myth and I can provide links and reccomend books to assure you of this. Mycologists have found that if anything the cap is slightly higher in the "toxins" psilocybin and psilocin but in most specimens they where the same. Your also incorrect about the smaller mushroom being more potent.............

@ironmannichi the "blue" in the mushroom is produced once the mushroom itself is damaged, snapping the stem takes the reaction from anywhere to 10-20 mins for it to turn blue. All psilocybin

mushrooms turn blue in this manner when the shroom is injured.

and lets just call "psilocybin" the mushrooms defence mechanism...as far as I'm concerned.

@achemachew ...it depends what you prefer and if the cubes are field picked or lab grown...i personally like field picked copes but anyways i prefer the Copes over cubes any day where as cubes are are mostly visuals with a descent body high C cyanescens has a profound spiritual trip attributed to it....also if they grow in your area see if you can find Panaeolina they contain no psilocybin and all Serotonin awesome trip! Btw Panaeolus and Copelandia are the same thing if you didnt know

the three main active chemicals sought after are psilocybin psylocin and seratonin in blue meanies. best eaten fresh as psilocin depletes during drying. to dry do instantly over warm air flow from heater. they will then if kept airtight last till next season. look into growing your own.... could b fun ! all year round suplly. btw the turning blue?black is the oxidation of the psilocybin as it touches air

@xxconjobxx ,,,,, your much better researching on the net and getting a different strain.... spore prints for various psilocybin species are available online legally ( for microscopic purposes only ;P ) and all your various growing techniques are readily available in step by step instructional videos right here on youtube. i live in adelaide so the species we get ( suberigenosea ) are very different... but i have heard of using the mycelium from your stem buts to propagate. just research bro :)
