@kurbiscremesuppe Actually, there are now more people in Holland who belong to the RC church than to protestant churches. That has to do primarily with the churches' administrations. The protestants however have for centuries been dominant in most parts of the Netherlands and put their stamp on dutch culture, especially in the northern parts of the country, so your remarks about preferences for certain composers are still valid.

The Crown Prince of The Netherlands married to the ´common´ girl Maxima.
It would be unheard of if the Crownprince of a country would marry anywhere else then in his own country.
When the eldest sister of Crown Princess (now Queen) Beatrix got married in Spain her family was forbidden to go to the wedding.
Things are very strict in Royal circles.

Het stuk wat jij bedoelt is oorspronkelijk van Bach en later bewerkt door Gounod. De tekst is niet van Gounod, want de tekst is het gebed Ave Maria (wees gegroet maria). Er zijn dan ook honderden andere Ave Maria melodieën gekopieerd, maar die van Schubert, Mozart en Bach-Gounod zijn de bekendste.
