if u use it properly they r better than stop signs or lights as the flow speed is proportional to traffic density, u can just cruise through if no traffic whereas with lights and stop sign u must stop anyway usually.

FINALLY, some positive comments about the town where I live! I'm tired of the comments here of people dissing Clovis. If you're over 18 and you don't like it here, leave. Otherwise, you're ultimately here by choice. This is coming from someone who has lived here since I was 6 years old, I've moved away for a couple of years, and now I live here and am raising three kids here. But yes, city officials do make some absurd decisions at times, and yes, there are moments of idiocy like the above.

Sorry MrSitcom2 but your wrong. If he was going too fast and tried to turn into the roundabout there would have been a chance of his car understeering into oncoming traffic. Also, a head-on crash into the center section is much safer than, lets say, a off-center crash into another vehicle possibly hurting other people. I would rather crash my car than harm some other family.

He actually had more of a chance of hitting a car head on if one was passing by right at the time he drove straight through to the center island. 1 Maybe a sportscar could make the turn but the speed still seemed excessive. 2 In the video there were no obstructions preventing him from seeing who is directly in front of him and to the immediate left and right on the road. 3. If he had a manual transmission he could slowed down some by downshifting, but not everyone is calm in "no brakes" situations. 4. Human reaction time. Realizing he had no brakes at the last second, he wouldnt even have had time to decide which way to go or what to do.
