Thank you Bob for taking the principled stand and risking your freedom on this issue. Most would have taken the plea deal and stood in shame begging for forgiveness.
To be precise, the power of jury nullification isn't so much the jury's right, as it is the right of all who may be accused to have their peers, and not the government, decide not only the facts before them, but whether the law is just in the immediate circumstance.
If you're ever on a jury, remember that your power and duty is superior to that of the judge, and the entire government.
I'd never heard of Nullification, or that it was a right of all jurors to keep in check a local LEO or Prosecutor from over stepping his role in a local community, ... which from the tiny bit of reading I've done is why it was stated as a right of a juror.. But it is nearly criminal to be in a court provided as a check between the citizen & the Govt, to NOT inform the JURY of their rights,.. I honestly thought that the court was for the rights of all citizens, including the Jurors..
Excellent video explaining jury nullification without calling it that in court. He does a good job with it and I wish all defence lawyers would have the courage to go this route.
I do not understand why the jury is not allowed to now the penalty the man faces. In death penalty cases they know it's a death penalty case. Why can't they know a guilty verdict may mean 7 years for this man? She objected so fast. Like they ALL know that the 7 years is ridiculous and would most certainly help the jurors more easily vote NOT GUILTY. Hopefully, the jury can understand why he said that and why they objected. Hope! Hope!
Thanks for capturing/sharing Talley. I think we could all learn a thing or two from Bob. Communicating the force used in enforcing "the law" on a personal level is powerful. The more it's done, the more we'll erode the claimed "legitimacy" of people who put text on paper before their own conscience.
Google "Liberty On Tour Bob Constantine" to find a writeup about each of the first two days of the trial - it's clear many of us are standing with Bob as he's standing for what's right.

This is an excellent example of how to explain jury nullification to a jury in the court room. I'm surprised the judge didn't try to shut him up.

Free Bob. Free Weedaclaus.
If this "jury" votes to convict, I'm going to get all inconsistent.
