Unfortunately, I only discovered it in 2009. Even worse is that I had to discover it around the time my hormones were raging. I was also around the time I ran into some nasty images on the internet. All the innuendos didn't help either.

you know what's so funny about this whole cartoon?--I didn't see it as a kid, but now it's clear--the intro is like a generalization of what many people go through...the clock smashes him and bam, he's suddenly an adult, he gets knowledge crammed in his brain..tough you know? god...that episode with the toad boss...I never forgot, as rocko 'moved up the ladder'

I love the humor of the sequence, Rocko's mom drops him off as a baby. The clock slams his hat on him symbolizing time is beginning for him and showing that he grew up. The hand fills his head with knowledge (education) and then seemingly hits him right into the real world. The dog chasing him symbolizing all of the troubles and tribulations he will face as an independant person. Awesome and a truely classic show!
