  • this ... was quite epic actually

  • Disney can do no wrong. I'm so sorry this is when I "grew out of" Disneyland stage shows. I used to watch the Beauty and the Beast one EVERY SINGLE time I went to Disneyland. My parents probably hated me for wasting their time...

  • Used to go to this every few weeks when I was younger...omg...this brings back SO many memories...

  • turd baby

  • The guy who plays clopin does an EXCELLENT job! There aren't many people who can sing that song perfectly

  • The transition from the puppets to the live actors as the mother collapses to the ground is flawless.

  • if this show was still going i would go and film only clopin my camera would follow him around

  • the people playing clopin and quasi were finaminal they were just like the characters in the movie the show will be missed

  • I'll never forget this show when i went to Disney!! I loved and always will love every minute of it! Ahh, to be young again! :'(

  • This guy portrays Clopin beautifully.

  • I just cried right at the climax of the opening song, I can't believe this has touched me the same as the original film, I think this is a testament of how amazing the actor that portrays Clopin is. Bravo!

  • I love how, at the end, Snowball is just standing in the middle of the stage like 'Why am I still here?'. xD

  • I saw this for the first time when I was about 2 and for the last time when I was like 8ish. It was the best show there. Why'd it go???? It was so AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 <3 Ah. I am forever depresssed. Oh and this was my favorite part :D

  • oh my goodness.. thats legit.

  • this is AWESOME!! I remember seeing beauty and the beast...curious is everyone lipsyncing to it? it sounds much like the soundtrack?

  • @ClassicsWEREandARE

I don't think that Clopin and the main characters would be, maybe the cast but as I remeber about the film in this show clopin holds his notes longer than in the film :D :Dbut don't quote me on it

  • Clopin...you are doing it right! *ç*

  • I like how they did the most AMAZING stage montage possible, with so many layers and actors changing scenes and such, but the crowd is clapping so half-assed

  • @XxSora145xX Theme park crowds are notorious for being lazy audiences. I worked at both Disney and Universal for many years and I can tell you, we gave each show everything we had... and frankly, the audiences always sucked. There's just too much going on in the parks to be able to hold their attention for more than a couple of minutes.

  • HOLY CRAP clopin's singer is ... whoever he is does the part PERFECTLY.

  • I wish they still had these characters at Disney World. I want to get their autographs. Especially Clopin, Quasimodo, and Frollo.

  • @anzey88, it's one of my moms good friends that i'm still friends with :)

  • I absolutely loved the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is going to be so much fun to watch!!!!!!!

  • Clopín. Marry me.

  • I saw this at MGM studios when I was little and this was so amazing to watch in person. It's sad that the most powerful, brilliant and beautiful Disney movie ever made is also the most underrated and the most hidden away.

  • @lauralovesbach I totally agree with you!!!!

  • F-ing amazing

  • I saw this show only 1 time but was captivated from start to finish. By the time I went back to MGM it was gone and I was so disappointed. This was the best and probably only Disney show I really thought was special. Everything about it from the puppets, stage, actors, music - all of it was in a class of its own compared to anything else Disney does stage related.

  • This would be a really good broadway musical. I would totally audition.

  • i seriously LOVE how it dramaticaly switches from puppets to LEGIT!!! It's amazing and i love how she just collapses...and he rides in...so realistic!!! I LOVE IT!!

  • This is great!!! :)

  • Clopin is on crack.... in a good way ;)

  • Most people will probably agree with me when I ask this, "How in the hell is this not on Broadway yet in the U.S?!" Seriously! Its Broadway material! C'mon now!

  • check out what i typed to SLPIFan

  • Fun Fact: Where the Backlot Theater is located, it was originally supposed to have been the site of a Muppet version of The Great Movie Ride.

  • cool

  • oh man, i remember making my mom sit through this so many time, both these performances and in theaters, because I loved the music SO much. :)

  • Uwow I remember seeing this myself when I went to Disney. I enjoyed every minute of it mind you Hunchback has always been one of my fave Disney movies Beauty and the Beast being the other. I totally agree with other people who've said this Hunchback needs to go on Broadway

  • i saw this when i was little but i dont remember any of it=( i got a esmerelda tamberine though=)

  • i have pieces of this on a home movie my parents took when went to disney when i was little!

and i dont remember the show ever being so crowded! we saw it at least three times and remember always sitting up front, near the stage.

  • @9insanewritters

I remember seeing also back in '96. I was kinda scared though of the play and the movie. I wish they still had the show

  • i love when they make the play as close to the movie as posable

  • THis show is so Jaw dropping . Its So Beautiful The Costumes r so Gorgeous !!!!!

  • they missed a few key lyrics, like the dekans entire eyes moment, but other than that they got really close to the epic version, well done ^_^

  • that clopin is terrific. i love when he gives the riddle

  • I can't thank you enough for posting these. I saw this show when I was 4 and I fell in love with it. I'm 18 now and I can't wait to see it on Broadway!

  • waaiiittt its coming to broadway???? =D

  • great begining, love the puppets.

  • thankyou for posting this, i enjoyed this show so much back in the day. i thought it was lost forever, you have brought back sone very happy memeories.

  • Hunchback deserves Broadway!

  • Don't worry, It's coming =)

  • That would be awesome! But how do you know?

  • Yea! Im excited!

Hehe I have my sources =)

  • So I take it you can't say who. I want to believe you, but we're going to have to just wait and see.

  • Haha sorry! =S

But yes! Im hoping what I've heard it true =)

  • @SLPIFan and the West End if it came on stage I wouldn't want to miss out

  • actually it did go on broadway :) in germany.... it lasted for a month or two before closing... despite its fantastic reviews... the soundtrack is available but its in german and there's no english adaptation of it....

But i do agree with you... They need to adapt it to American broadway... it has a very good chance of making it longer than tarzan

  • @jsininger A Broadway version of the Teletubbies has a good chance to last longer than Tarzan

  • @SLPIFan I AGREE!!!

  • @SLPIFan Ikr! It is so weird that nobody jumps on that!

  • @SLPIFan It's going Broadway, so I hear! :D

  • was esmeralda bear foot while she was in this musical

  • Probably not. The stunt show is still there, but the stage isn't the right design to be the same. And the stunt show has been there longer than Hunchback of Notre Dame has been around.

  • DUDE! I remember seeing this as a little kid!!! Loved that show, and I missed it so much.

Thanks so much for posting it!

  • he soudsn like the guy in the actual film

  • When was the show open? And what's there now, if the show closed?

  • I believe the show was open sometime around 1996 when the Hunchback of Notre Dame animated film debuted. The Backlot Theater is now a storage area with the facade of San Francisco.

  • That's depressing. But thanks for the info!

  • @DISnut it looks as though it is on the same stage that beauty and the beast is now on....

  • I think it closed in 2005, when the Lights, Motors, Action! extreme stunt show premiered (which replaced it)

  • This was incredibly well staged considering the limitations of the area the performers had to work in but that's the magic of Disney, I guess! I was lucky enough to see it twice, and the second time was the final ever performance they did :( Clopin gave his all in that show ... he was amazing!

  • This was an amazing show I remeber watching this when i was little, It was my absloute favorite Im so mad they got rid of it AND replaced it with Lights Motors Action (I cnt stand tht show!) I alos LOVE the movie its amazing and has a very good moral

  • Why did they get rid of this? Its such a great show and movie! Thank you for posting, I'm so glad others admire the movie like me!

  • I completely agree with you! One of my first memories is watching this show at MGM!

  • Aww man, I wish they still had this! I would've loved to see it, it looks awesome. :C

  • why was it closed it was one of my favret shows

  • those costumes of that people are really good^^

  • Dude, this is amazing!!! Where was this?!?

  • Clopin is such an amazing singer.. whoever played him.. both in this play and the actual movie.. whenever he sings bells of notre dame just give me the chills and i my jaw just hits rock bottom when he reaches that high note at the end.. I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • @anzey88 I do believe the disney actor is Paul Kendal.

  • Do you have Matt the Juggler who was The Opening Act and the Pre show Announcement

  • oh my god thank u so much for posting this this is and always will b my favorite disney show (even though its not there anymore) and it has very nice quality

im so mad that LIGHTS MOTOR ACTION took its place

  • I never thought I'd see this show again -- thanks so much! It was one of my all-time favorites!

  • Bells of Notre Dame gives me always chills

  • I so miss this live production. Everything from techs to performers was absolutely outstanding! Great job all of you who participated in this wonderful show!

  • awsome!!! if you ever get a chance to go back record the beauty and the beast show! its amazing!!!!

  • Beauty and the Beast is already on my channel. :)

  • I listened to the first performance of this EVER when it was first presented(to Guests)...because there were too many people in line for me to see it. I waited in line for it to see the 2nd show ever, in the hot sun because back then (and still now) there is no cover in that area. I am so glad they have done something with that buidling now, because it was left vacant for far too long. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • I love it when Clopin laughs and hugs his friend at the beginning. That's so cute. <3
