  • why is it when people boot up their old computer they act like they're trying to land on the moon?

  • That is an amazing monitor.

  • I loved taking apart the IIcx and IIci - modular design. Much easier than the IIvx, IIvi, Centris/Quadra 650 (which replaced the IIci basically) and Power Macintosh 7100

  • Love that vertical monitor!

  • I loved these old Macs. Used to use them in college. One rich kid, bought one of these I think it cost something like 2k at the time.

  • That port you're wondering about is a floppy drive connector. It works with the 3.5 drive, and I'm not sure if it works with a Apple II 5.25 drive or not.

I like the Mac II's a lot, but I haven't had one (I had the relatively wimpy but still awesome IIsi) since I was 8 or so :-(

  • I only collect compact black and white ones (all-in-one), but I still like the non all-in-ones :)

  • The port that u have no idea about, is a port to hook up an external floppy drive. The development team is inscribe into the case. The secret in the iici rom is an easter egg, and it is true it shows a picture of the development team if i remember correctly. Do you need RAM Doubler 2 you can triple your memory so you can run more programs on the IIci???

  • I can back him up on that, I got an Apple external floppy drive few weeks back and he's dead right.

  • What system has it got?

I used this mavintosh with os 5, so...

My first computer was an apple // original (the apple 2).

I bought this machine beacause my macintosh 64kb didn´t boot from diskettes and my sistem was broken so...

  • Will this cash card work with a IICX?

  • the port is the usb for hooking youre ipod into... right?

  • stupid u think there was an ipod in the 80s or 90s idiot ...lol

  • i kno i was totally kidding hahahahahahaha omg who the hell would actually think that there was ipods back then haha

    i was joking.

  • let alone usb...

  • The port is not a IEEE 1284 Parallel, its a Apple External floppy drive.

  • wow. cool stuff

  • hey i thought this computer could do color? i have a relative that is crazy collector and thats a pimpin monitor like the xerox alto monitor or the hp ones that can turn sideways for paper document editing!!!11!1!!111one1

    grate showeingu~!

  • That port is a floppy disk port. Hence the icon of a old floppy next to it : )

  • That port is for a Early Travis drive external hard drive or a Iomega Drive

  • This was my first computer!

    Rip :( 1989-2001

  • still better than a pc

  • LOL :-)

  • I was born in 1987 and this was my first family computer. I totally want to get one again (I don't know what happened to ours). However, I received for free a Mac Centris 610 which is actually the same speed as a Macintosh IIci (25Mhz). Interesting enough, my dad got an upgrade card for the Macintosh IIci we had that upgraded it to 33Mhz, and a 68040 processor (as opposed to a 68030). It has pretty hardcore.

  • That Port is the IEEE 1284 parallel connection. Its used for a hight speed I/O connection to devices such as scanners and printers.

  • Thank you for your help!

  • @pcmacp719c1 No, it's actually a port for an external floppy drive. IEEE 1284 was never used on Classic Macintoshes.

  • That easter egg is cool :D
