i just saw sli 4 cards 480 and it use power like 1500watts .. and this ati with 4 cards take around 700watts wow what a different... when it come to power.... now i wanna see will it beat 4 5870 with sli 4 gtx 480 waiting for that clip...
@tomyloveu Yeah, I would like to see 4 x GTX480 against 4 x HD5870. I am an ATI fan, but I think Nvidia will win in FPS, but with some cost ( 1500W Nvidia and 800W ATI ).
yeah well... from 60, 80 fps difference is not noticeable, but, better more than less dont you think? sorry about my english, isn't my native lenguage... i speak in spanish, you know... im from argentina
does not use the 5970 at all , it just uses one core of the 5970 which essentially is a 5870. this was very uninformative. should show a game that actually takes advantage of the many cards and cores, very misleading
thats way to much power. In the us were limited to 110 which you cant put more than 1200watts on a single circuit, youd have to move up to a 220. Thats just based on US power regulations. And 1.2Kw is all you need. The system is maxing out at 800watts and the rule is that you get a psu that gives your 30 percent headway.
That was a small diffrence! That game must be really good optimised for corssfire/SLi because you usually don't get a big performance diffrence with 3+ cards.
The fixed benchmark uses a lot more AI than the variable benchmark... Even though the i7 is a beast of a CPU, RE5 probably doesnt make the best use of multicore cpu's just yet.
Either way, this is still great...
At 1440 x 900, with 8xAA(maxed), my Phenom II @3.5GHz and GTX260C216 get roughly 80-100 frames on the fixed bench... So kicking it up to a 1920 res with 8xAA is a pretty decent boost. I think the fixed bench is more CPU oriented than GPU, so the CPU is obviously the bottleneck.

2. also when playing ME2...i notice ONLY in CF mode does talkingto NPC slow down...why is this?
i have latest drivers..and everything..do i need 2 bridges for 2 cards...why isnt the performance better...

maybe a stupid question.
Why didnt they put 4 HD5970's in one case?
666darooo666 2 years ago
since a 5970 is actually 2 video cards, and crossfire can only support 4 video cards, you couldn't
melonhead12211995 2 years ago 2
@666darooo666 The 5970 as 2 gpu's already, putting 2 in the case is 4 gpus
