@Elsenrail29 Sure,in the world there are so many great unknown pianists, but what hurts me most is the forgotten, immense Maestro Sergio Fiorentino. What a shame..not included among the legends this amazing interpreter.
This is so deep. He has something really unique about his playing - it's very unusual, and I don't hear it with many other pianists. It just grabs you..
Yes, B-F# in the video. He hits the thirteenth C-A. Btw he is really tall, about 6'4" (193cm) or more. It's amazing that his big hands could play so softly and with such virtuosity. Great pianist indeed.
Yet another amazing display of slow, romantic Chopin's movements by Ivo... why would you care about some, insignificant, technical issues when you hear music like that?
I think there is nothing wrong with the musik at around 5:55. You probably had a concentration problem... And I wouldnt say its "soft"- I would say its "deep+dark" and all drama happens in the distance.

Everything soft and samish... the piece loses its drama, its contrasts. Not to mention that at around 5:55 he loses the music momentarily- at one of the most musically interesting parts of the piece...
for anybody who doesn't already know, this is not Ivo Pogrelich, this is Krystian Zimernan

For me, this play, and the Martha Argerich's, are the best interpretation of the Chopin's 3rd sonata. Is there any official recording of this?

Pogorelich is the best thing to happen to chopin's music in the last 30 years

Pogorelich certainly knows how to plumb the depths and convey the deepest of sentiments. Totally out of the main-stream, but, who cares!

I like the way he plays the part around 5:55. It is beautiful.
He makes a major mistake at around 6:43, where he plays E#(or F natural) instead of E. Did anyone notice it?
anandramanathan 4 years ago 2
Paderewsky old edition contain this E#. A serbian pianist said to me the E# is correct.
