Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Breath = A New Creation, like God breathed life into Adam, therefore Confess= A New Creation.
I say good video, it just needs God's plan of salvation according to Acts 2:38. This is the way the church got started and the Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans all came the same way. Acts 2:4, 2:38, 10:44--48, 19:1-6, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-5, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 3:27, Ephesians 4:5-6. 1 Peter 3:21. One can't escape baptism of the water and spirit. There's no sinner's prayer in the Bible. We have to come the way God set up on Pentecost. The Bibleway is the only way. man can't change it.
No man is good enough to be worshipped! He is a sinner just like you and me,Jesus made all Christians Priests not one man , if a man is trying to be an old testament Priest he is a liar and the truth is not in him. Read 1 Peter 2 vers.5 and you will see that i'm telling you the truth. Also read 2 Timothy 2 vers.15 and then you won't be mislead. Sorry to give you this bad news, but I was lead by the spirit of God
Watch the entire short film The Confession about an Irish lad who gets more than just penance after confessing his sins. YouTube [dot] com/watch?v=tGl5BnAjmxo
ok...hmmm Im not used to say about religious matters..lol
But as i can say to the comments posted..uhmm its all about RELIGION.
As i know the bible is not about religion. its all about our individual relationship with God. If there is a religion that could save the mankind in the punishments of it sins, well what would be the significance sacrifice that is made by Christ at the cross?
STOP comparing religion!!! after all, at the end its between you and God not between Your religion and God
Protesants have hatred for the Catholic Church and the Jews today because their leader the false prophet Martin Luther too hated the Catholic Church and the Jews and wanted to burn their synagogues... Luther threw out several books of the Bible... He was not divine nor did God give him that authority... No Pope has ever thrown out any books inspired by the Holy Spirit. St James whom Luther despised died a saint killed by Roman empeors. Luther died fat drinking German beers!!!
I do not think Luther hated the church. He saw local corruption and tried to reform her. However, unlike Francis who reformed her through obedience, Luther tried through disobedience.
He did remove several books of the OT that had been in for 1000 years and tried to remove James because it conflicted with his new theology.
I don't think he realized what he started since his views on many things including Mary were much more like Catholic then like protestants.
hey nice idols in the background! that's mary, is it not?? niiiiice :) worshiping mary, whoooo hooo! its a good thing that the bible allows praying to saints and ppl other than Christ... oh wait, it clearly says the oposite... aw man. :(
1) Praying to Mary and Saints - You need to understand the difference between pray and worship. Pray is to entreat or implore and is not reserved for God alone. When we pray to the saints we are not worshiping them but asking them for help. In many cases asking them to pray (to God) for us. Much in the same way you might ask a friend to pray for you. "Mary, mother of God, pray for me now and at the hour of my death"
2) Picture = idol? Would a picture of your mother be idolatry. No!!
I dont know why people think that Catholics confess their sins to a preist and not to God...they fail to see that when we do confess our sins to a priest Christ is there...just like God works through the apostles to write the bible the same way that God works through the priests
truthisbetter, Good question! Christ gave us confession when he told the apostles "Whatever sins you bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven, whatever sins you let loose, will be also in Heaven." Catholics did not make up confession, Holy Communion, Baptism, and all the other sacraments! Christ came to Earth to start a new Church. He said"Even the gates of Hell will not prevail against My Church" and that is the Catholic Church. We are the first Bible Church!
@ESEME11 The Word of God came FROM the catholic Church?? No! The word of God came from the apostles of Christ (Early Christian Church) The bible was finished right as the church was being formed. Moses wrote Genesis (He wasn't Catholic) Paul wrote Romans (He wasn't Catholic) You can view anyone in the bible, NO ONE was catholic. St. Peter was not Catholic. He was Early Christian. He is reverend as being Catholic from the Catholic Church because of his beliefs. But he was Early Christian.
So you don't believe in the God, the father who made earth? That Jesus is God the son, begotten from the father? That He was born of a virgin and became man. That he suffered died and on the third day rose again?
Your statement declares all these things as false, since these are Catholic doctrines.
Perhaps you only reject certain doctrine, if so, how do you personally decide?
Great comment Bogamir! People don't really know and understand what Catholics believe. They only know what someone else has told them. Hatred and distrust of the Church goes back to the Reformation and is the last accepted prejudice around. There are groups that preach we had Lincoln and Kennedy killed, started W.W.I and II, worked with Hitler. Amazing! I have never heard a priest knock another church but many Protestants base their entire belief system on smearing the CAtholic Church.
Shame on you sins4givenmain! How anyone can really read the Bible and not become a Catholic is beyond me. I am a convert to the Catholic Church and have found the fullness of my faith by coming home to Rome. There is no way to explain away all the things that Christ said and He showed by example. It is plain and simple truth and led me and millions of others to the Catholic Church. Confession, Communion,Baptism, the priesthood and the papacy, it is all there taught by Christ himself.
it is a real shame that so many have so much misconceptions. the bible alone (which is not biblical anyways) thinks the bible is the sole authority...but yet they cant prove that bible alone can stand alone...they cant even prove that every single book in the bible is from the word of God..I made some videos asking questions and no one has taken up my challenge..i too am a convert..it was the bible and reading history that brought me to the faith..the fullness of truth is so much better
Sculptured, painted, molded pictures, statues, or likenesses of anything at all. The First Commandment forbade not only the worshipping but even the carving, painting, molding, or the making of images in any manner (Ex. 20:3-5). The Jews were forbidden this because of the great danger of their falling into worshipping them as did their pagan neighbors.
The name of God was to be their supreme, spiritual, immaterial, and only representation of God.
However, except during the Maccabean period, this law was never understood to be an absolute and universal prohibition of any kind of image, especially of those not easily thought of as idols.
In fact some images were even commanded to be made: the brazen serpent (Num. 21:9); carved and molded garlands of fruit, flowers, and trees (1 Kings 7:18, 36); lions, finely carved, to support the king's throne (1 Kings 10:19); lions and bulls to support the basins in the Temple (1 Kings 7:25, 29); especially the great, carved figures of the cherubim that stood over the Ark of the Covenant (Ex. 25:18-22; 1 Kings 6:23-28).
It is the uncompromising attitude of the Jews in the Maccabean period, together with the literal interpretation of the First Commandment, that is responsible for the common idea that the Jews had no images whatsoever.
Images are in common use in the Catholic Church. The object of images is to set Christ, the Virgin, and the saints before our eyes. We do not worship the images themselves, the honor which we give these objects being referred to the persons whom they represent.
Bogamir, I really enjoyed your video. Ive recently returned to the catholic church and I am so happy to be back! Keep posting your videos and defending the true faith. God gave us the church as a pillar for truth!
Bogamir, thank you for answering other video. I have tried at length to discuss topics with these various Evangelists etc in a rational and respectful manner. However they will block comments that they can't answer. And so may not have the conviction of their beliefs. Rational dialogue is possible on u-tube, just like your channel. For the other hurtful channels, I think it's pointless to argue with them. You have done the right think and responded directly to lies and generalisations.. Thanks
this is the worst video, please read the bible while you are aloud to read it back in the day the popes would of killed you if they found you reading the bible.
Where in the world do you get these ideas? The first Bibles were kept in the churches because they were hand written and very precious, priceless. People could not read or write at that time. Only priests could and so the Bible was kept in the church. We have always not only been allowed to read the Bible but encouraged to do so. We are the FIRST Bible church. All others are splinters off the original Christian church. Only the Catholic Bible has all the original books.
nanabonniez, I am not sure who you were responding to,but I don't think it was me. I have noticed youtube does not always put replies after the comment you are replying to.
Love your videos. Keep up the good work of spreading the truth of Catholicism. Lots of people refuse to listen to it or believe it, but do not let that stop you. I was responding to someone that said we were forbidden by the popes to read the Bible. I am amazed that people believe that nonsense. Just think, the former prime minister of England came into the Catholic Church about three months ago. Now do people think he is stupid or blind? That he did not investigate the Church?
i went to the confessional and I felt the priest was being pushy and asking specific questions as when was my last confession and whether how long was it since i received Holy Communion also I am going to need a little help because my mother's parents never made her do baptism, communion, and confirmation for adults because my mother could go to mass but can't take coomunion
first of all honor is one thing i respect and love in a certain way, the ex virgin mary but to include her in prayers, tell me where jesus instructs us to go to mary or include her in anything,he doesnt it aint biblical, now secondly you catholics make images of mary, statues and bow down and pray to them, thats an idol God is against that, that aint biblical, jesus taught us how to pray and mary was not in it now if its not biblical why do you catholics do it.
Prayer to the saints and angels is part of orthodox historical Christian piety. It is a practice based on the doctrine of the communion of saints. We are one body in Christ and can pray for and help each other. It is completely biblical.
Images and statues are not idols. They are art. An idol is anything that you worship other than God. To falsely accuse others of worshiping an image in place of God just because you say so is slander. Isn't it?
Thank God that some one eventually came and speak out to answer the rude questions from the not knowledgable Protestants. Come all Catholics ! Let us stand together to defend our faith.
You say you speak to GOD. But do you listen to Him and his Church? Enter by the narrow gate. No pain NO Gain. The easy and comfortable road unfortuately does not lead to Heaven!!
The Greek tenses of John 20:23 make it clear that the apostles were authorized only to announce the terms of forgiveness, and that upon the basis of God's previous appointment. The first verbs in the two clauses are aorist tense forms, while the second verbs are in the perfect tense. The perfect tense verbs imply an abiding state which commenced before the action of the aorists.
Eialici, this is a lie spread around the internet. It does use the perfect tense, but it is the FUTURE perfect tense, meaning that it "will have been" sometime in the future. However, if it was the perfect tense, it would imply that they would only forgive sins that were already forgiven, thus imply infallibility.
Why would you trust in such stuff? I trust the Church with my salvation, but you don't. So you should only trust the bible, that doesn't include people who quote the bible.
21Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
Let's put an example instead of saying John 3:16-20 they just focus on John 3:16 only and discard the rest because they have these rosary prayers invented by a catholic clergy or monk in the 13th century.
I honestly do not understand your point. Catholics do not discard parts of the bible. The rosary is actually a meditation of the mysteries of the bible. Todays mysteries are the five sorrowful mysteries (1)Agony in the garden, (2)scourging, (3) Crowning of thorns, (4) carrying the cross, and (5) dying on the cross.
They are called mysteries since we can never exhaust the benefit of spending time thinking about them and never truly understand them completely.
Camara, my point was that the rosary is a meditative prayer. The point is to contemplate the mysteries. Todays are the joyful: ANNUNCIATION lk1:28, visitation Lk1:41, Birth Lk2:7, Presentation Lk2:22, Finding Jesus lk2:46
However, to answer your question: While those words do not appear in the bible, there is nothing in them that contradicts the bible.
It doesn't specifically say that; however it does say that Mary was "full of grace" which means she was without sin. It also tells us that the prayers of the righteous are beneficial, so why wouldn't you ask the woman who was the mother of God to pray for you? And who else would you want praying for you at the hour of death? Seems pretty logical to me.
Search "communion of saints" on Bible Christian Society's website and it will become clear.
I don't think so because we need to be direct and I have done it to the lady of Guadalupe once or twice and then I am prompted to go directly to Jesus but my issue is why invent her coronation in heaven instead say well you know she was the first believer who raptured she was also a jehovah witness because there is a gospel that a lady said blessed the lady who had you and he said something that would probably offend catholics because it appears they have this perception of + ways 2 go 2 heaven.
1:And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman .. upon her head a crown of twelve stars
5:And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
Now this child is obviously Christ and the only mother I know of is Mary. So we have Mary wearing a crown in heaven. Now revelation is full of double meanings, but the primary here is Mary.
it said we all fall short of god's glory no exception even mary of nazareth. why these catholics can't understand that god shares his glory with no one. No graven images however one should prefer to talk to those images for free than to do to the shrine and have to pay for counseling and medication and the psychologists only gives short-term solutions. Like mother angelica that says its like having a picture of your relative where you see and talk to your favorite saint and talk to the statue
images and statues remind us of our loved ones. e.g. We do not worship the statue of Abraham Lincoln do we? We do not worship the pictures of our children, parents and loved ones do we? Making statues is not against Gods will in fact God ordered Moses to carve statues of Angels on the Ark of the Covenant. But the worship of other things is against God. e.g. Money, self, possesions, car etc..
Read Revelation 5:8, where the prayers of the saints are offered up to God.
Intercessory prayers are encouraged in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, where they are called "good and pleasing to God." One cannot take the next verse out of context--Christ is the only mediator for our sins, not the only one for our prayers.
The popes have made JESUS their property(they think!) and slave...and the oppressed followers of this religion of death still follow this religio-hypnO-crap. Proving that religion removes ALL abilty to THINK. Newsflash catholics: the inquisition is OVER. You could set yourself free. WHY then do you STILL serve popes thinking you serve god? Are you still afraid of the rack? the sword? It's is NOT about the pope...or mary...or saints...salvation is from CHRIST alone.
Do you really think Catholics believe that Jesus is the pope's slave?? What kind of religio-hypnO-junk are you being fed?
Do you honestly think we are afraid of the rack?
I can assure you that I know salvation is in fact from Christ alone. He established one church (singular)Mt16:18. That church is visibly one church Jhn17:21-23.
You should really look at the writings of the first believers. Especially those that got the faith directly from the Apostles. Ignatius of Antoch is a good start
This church is not the Roman Catholic or the Greek Orthodox however I attend a Melkite or a Maronite church totally different from these crazy pope a** ring kissers. Anyone's inspiration should be the bible and not Ignatus of Antoch. How about forgiveness through the blood of Christ. Priests are mean and think they have a right to deny who receives the holy communion and hate it when someone comes in with a different attitude and fail to give a full explanation on why I am wrong with priest..
Catholicism is just a wicked religion that I would prefer to become a muslim for the beauty of five times in prayer, Ramadan, and the Al-Hajj. I see unity when all these folks prostate to pray on five different occasions with the catholics I see distracted and unfocused people just eager to eat the wafer and that is it the evangelicals and protestants bring in enjoyment in sermons rather than a boring priest saying fifty words instead of phrasing it in ten words
confession to a catholic priest is a sign of the spiritual slavery that the catholic church has held it's captives in from the beginning! And when the church needed money it said one could BUY their way out of sins...by purchasing indulgences. It is all bullshit in the name of god and has NOTHING to do with Christ or what Christ lived or taught.
Confession is actually FREEDOM from the slavery of sin. It was instituted by Christ as can be seen from the fact that the church has had some form of confession from the very beginning. Even you admit that confession was around from the beginning. The apostles understood confession to be a part of what Jesus wanted. To claim that you know what Jesus meant better then the apostles is not only arrogance but is not-biblical.
Also, Indulgences have nothing to do with the forgiveness of sins. Please try to understand what catholics believe before you criticize.
An Indulgence is the acceptance of the grace given (by God) to us BECAUSE our sins have already been forgiven through confession. Even after our sins are forgiven, we still have an attachment to them which is a desire to repeat the sin. Through penance (fasting, good works, etc) we respond to God's grace and allow him to help remove the attachment to sin.
video guy, your bishops knew of the pedofiles...making them accomplaces..they are guilty of the sin themselves then..if i were a betting man i'd say the popes knew also..you can't tell me they weren't knowledgable of it..
Catholicism is a perverted form of Gods true word, and teaches mostly the doctrines of man! "If it feels good, do it!" But make sure you confess that to your priest on Sunday. when will the catholics create a repentance booth?
You're spreading terrible, hateful propaganda against the Church... If you're gonna do it, at least know what we believe and strive for. That's why we use the saints as role models. :)
I'd suggest reading the about life of St. Francis.
Did Jesus not tell us to confess are sins to one another, and did he not give the apostles the power to forgive sins, the priest are his apostles because they try and follow in his footsteps thats why we say we are an apostolic church it stems from the apostles.
I am not sure what you mean by that, but I don't think I agree with it. If you mean that the more someone is able to reason, the less he needs faith, you could not be further from the truth.
God created a universe of order and he wants us to understand it. The more we discover how ordered the universe is, the more we see that it must have been created. Look at how the equations that govern a pendulum are the same that govern a electical capacitor and inductor.
Bogamir: One falsehood: God did not create a universe of order. "Out of chaos" came SOME order. Secondly, "that he wants us to understand it", is pure conjecture. How do you know ?
Philos: Please explain your frame of reference. Where does your statement "Out of chaos came SOME order" come from?
Since I don't know if you want a biblical answer or scientific, I will give a biblical; Man was given dominion over the earth. Giving someone control of something implies a desire for them to understand it.
Science itself shows that the universe is ordered. Science is after all a study or the laws that govern the universe.
Example: The law of gravity works ALL the time. Objects don't fall sometimes and not others. When we observe an object that seems to defy gravity (like a magnet), science can conclude that there is another law since the results are always ordered.
Bogamir: Order, sir, is what mankind can perceive as order. Not everything that follows laws is perceived as "order". The randomness, unpredictability of natural phenomena is not "order". The gas cloud that once was earth, is not order. The ramdomness of our time of death is not "order".
Order does not depend on being perceived by man, that is just relativist baloney.
As a boy, bishop Sheen used to sit at his mother's feet while she embroidered. Looking up at the bottom all he saw was random stitches. It was not until later did he realize that the pattern was viewed from the creator's side.
As a Roman Catholic in the Bible Belt (Nashville) I have heard every argument that you were responding to. Some times I had the exact same answer but I have learned one or two more. Thank you. Good job mate!! We need more folks, like you, that will defend the faith.
see my posts on the video you made this reply video to.
the bible version your using seems to mislead from the points, and dilute the word of God,
learn who wescott and hort are and what they did, and study all the new age bible copyrights, youll see the changes are just back and forth FOR PROFIT, the 1611 KJV is not wavering, and direct, as God's word covers a broadly, and as God word pin points, but your book is out in the oceans somewhere lost.
Please tell me what points you are referring to? I was not using a "new age bible" but the accepted RSV. I would however, use an older one if you wish. Would the Douay Rheims be ok? It was the first Catholic Bible in english. Also, the wording is surprisingly similar to the KJV in many places.
I did comment on the other video but it seems that Random331 is blocking my comments. I have been nothing but civil, so I assume he just deleted my comments because he could not disagree with them.
I agree. It was my first video ever and I didn't have it planned well. Also, it was 18 minutes and I had to chop it down to get it under 10 min. Next one will be better, Lord willing.
Randon331, I will not run away from anything in fear but TO something in truth. This being said, what is your view on the early church? At what point do you feel the Church went wrong?
"Crafty usurpers pretended a monopoly on Christ Jesus' free and open forgiveness of sins.
"
My friend, at our baptism all of our sins were wiped clean by the merits of Christ's sacrifice. However, just as Satan fooled Eve into thinking she could sin with recourse, we should not be fooled into thinking we can sin freely. Look at Hebrew 6:4-8,Rom 11:17-23
The word "baptism" in the Bible does NOT always mean "water" (Mt 20:23, Act 1:5, etc) - H2O cannot wash away sins!!
We are freely saved by being baptized "into Christ" (Rom 6:3 - no water mentioned!) through spiritual new birth, having our souls saved by being washed from sin by Christ by his blood (Rev 1:5).
The spirit is born again, the soul is saved, but the body is not YET delivered. A saved man still pays for his own sins in the body, but not in the soul or spirit.
The verses about forgiveness show that we indeed to retain or remit sins -> between each other and as a matter of church discipline (see also 1 Tim 1:20).
But before God we are forgiven by Jesus Christ ALONE and need no other mediator or advocate (1 John 2:1 and 1 Tim 2:5).
Your church has not taught you to discern OT teachings to the Jews - even when they appear in the NT. (See 2 Tim 2:15 "rightly dividing the word of truth" and Hebrews 9:17).
Judas was a DEVIL according to Jesus Christ (John 6:71) hence replaced to fulfill scripture. But there are ONLY 12 Jewish Apostles because there are ONLY 12 thrones - see Matt 19:28. Hundreds of gentile popes can't sit on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel.
JEWISH promises are given exclusively to the JEWS - the Vatican covets a worldly throne and seeks war for Jerusalem since the Crusades.
So, no successor is mentioned when Herod killed James in Acts 12:2.
If there are only twelve and Matthias replaced Judas as one of the twelve, then what of Paul? Paul was an apostle. 1 Tim 2:7
Paul also discusses bishops 1 Tim Chapter 3
bishops were given the care of God's Church as a father cares for his children.
As for Acts 12:2- It in no way implies that there was not one.
You should really read the writings of the early church fathers, especially those that learned the faith from the apostles. Ignatius of Antoch is a good place to start.
Greetings my friend, sorry to take so long to reply.
First, I want to make clear what Apostolic succession is. The bishop is given care of his flock under the authority of an Apostle or a successor. A good example is "what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2)
Note that Timothy is not simply a local pastor but a fellow missionary with Paul.
Bogamir, there is no scripture that calls Timothy an apostle.
Today's fake "apostles" must claim they're directly chosen by God and have the sign gifts - Benny Hinn, Cathryn Kuleman, Oral Roberts (Acts 2:43, 5:12, 8:18). These are lies (2 Cor 11:13, Rev 2:2).
But the "Apostolic succession" theory by Catholics lacks even these two essential points! It's a false claim of ecclesiastical lordship over fellow believers - a usurpation even rejected by Christ and Peter (Lk 22:25, 1 Peter 5:3).
You are right to quote Acts 20:29. Many false teachers did appear teaching heresies. The way a true apostle (little a) was known was from whose authority he was sent. Remember that the Catholic Church had not yet provided a closed canon of scripture.
Paul said "of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them"
These came from within the ranks! They claimed "succession" - 1 Cor 1:12. These crafty fakers claimed succession from men (Peter)- following men not Christ.
So when Catholics claim they follow Peter they violate 1 Cor 1:12+. 3:21, Gal 2:8, etc.
Jesus Christ actually called Peter "Satan" right where Catholics crown him pope! (Matt 16:23).
OK, I meant the writings of the early Christians which are normally called "early church fathers"
However, lets deal with the term father and Matt 23:9: Do you really believe that Paul single handily converted every member or the city or Corinth. No, in 1Cor 4:15 he is referring to his authority as their leader. Note also that the next thing he does is send them an apostle, Timothy. Sent to them with his authority. There is a hierarchy being shown here.
This exception is not stated in the bible. I don't think Paul personally converted every person in Corinth. Certainly, men spread the news of the gospel to friends and family. Paul does not claim to be the father of JUST the ones who heard him. He claims to be father of all of them. First, second generations and beyond.
Also, in Act 7:2 I doubt very much that Stephen was stoned by the one man who led him to Christ.
Huh? Acts 7:2 - the "fathers" in that context are his fellow Jews - the elders in the political nation of Israel, we can both agree he is not calling them his "spiritual" fathers, so if this is the proof text for calling a Roman Catholic priest father, its the only one: and what a poor example to pick!
Actually, he was answering the high priest and the religious elders.
As for other references, the best is 1cor 4:15. Paul did not personally convert everyone so your "only one" exception does not hold water. Plus it is not mentioned in the bible.
Also, there is Acts22 and in Romans 4:11 Paul says that Abraham is the spiritual father of all believers because of his faith.
Peter was NEVER in Rome. In Jerusalem Galatians 2:7, and in Baghdad 1 Pt 5:13, but Paul didn't mention him in Romans 16 or Romans 11:13! Paul wrote FROM Rome and never mentioned Peter! Peter wasn't in charge in Acts 15 but got rebuked by Paul - Galatians 2:9-14. Peter was MARRIED Mark 1:30 and would let people bow to him - Acts 10:26.
"Christians" got that name in Antioch NOT Rome -Acts 11:26, and our "Mother" is not "Rome" it's Jerusalem above -Gal 4:26.
GraceBM - the sky is free of broomsticks today, so you must be grounded.
While the broom is in the repairshop, why don't you take a moment to actually read the verses?!
Try to ignore those little goblins in front of your eyes telling you to stop, after all, you're a big girl now and shouldn't have Bible-phobia, right?
"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." Luke 6:27-28
We're called to show others the Way out of love... not arrogance or pride. I realize not all Catholics do this, but that doesn't justify your comments either.
Any good we do comes from the Holy Spirit working through us... so don't take pride in it.
gbm's Q: "What did Christians do for the first 400 years before the Bible was compiled???"
The did what real Christians have always done, the got saved by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, lived godly lives, preached the word, and they seperated from the pagan nonsense around them (what's now called Roman Catholicism).
They had the scriptures - see 2 Peter 3:16, 2 Tim 3:15.
No one was waiting around for a pagan pope to tell them anything.
Catholics certainly listen to scriptures. We get 3 readings at every Sunday mass (not to mention daily mass) and complete reading the entire Bible every 3 years. Each mass has a homily, which is an explanation of the scriptures and how they can apply to our lives.
Faith alone isn't enough to save us though. "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." James 2:26
If you have any questions about our faith, I'd be happy to answer.
At least here I can answer and know it will be posted- not filtered.
There are plenty of Catholic theolgians out there- they just have better things to do then argue with the over 33,000 points of view/false teachings protestant "theology" has presented to the world.
The one TRUE faith is the RCC.
BTW- I do own and read a bible. The one will ALL the books in it, tyvm.
Random33 - you said on your vid: "GBM- and your reply to "tell me where I'm wrong" is ???? Nothing. "
ran- Oh no that's not it! The problem is there is only a 500 character limit for posting. It would take about 10,000 characters to tell you where you are wrong. I don't have that much time.....
"Don't you have a persecution complex! Not one of your posts was ever removed."
Ran- you may not have deleted any, but don't act like there were ones you never posted to begin with! Many of my post were "overlooked or discarded" by you and never made it to the boards. That is why I am at this one. You can't stop me here or filter my comments.
I approved every comment you made that went thru.
Youtube sometimes stalls and posts don't go thru - complain to youtube about it, not me.
It must be terribly frustrating that your spooky spirits you always conjure up can't help you with such a simple matter! You poor thing ... maybe you need to light candles to a few more statues!
"Rome killed Christ" Is this what your wisdom in God has degraded to? Blaming the sins of the political ansestor onto the sins of their descendence? Ezekiel taught us about the nature of God, and that a mans sins stand on HIS SHOULDERS ALONE. God was quite emphatic on that point actually.

Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Also read 2 Timothy 2 vers.15 and then you won't be mislead. ok...hmmm Im not used to say about religious matters..lol

TroyeHaryanto 3 years ago 2
I do not think Luther hated the church. He saw local corruption and tried to reform her. However, unlike Francis who reformed her through obedience, Luther tried through disobedience.
He did remove several books of the OT that had been in for 1000 years and tried to remove James because it conflicted with his new theology.
I don't think he realized what he started since his views on many things including Mary were much more like Catholic then like protestants.

Wrong, true christians love catholics and all people, we don't agree with your theology, but we don't hate.

hey nice idols in the background! that's mary, is it not?? niiiiice :) worshiping mary, whoooo hooo! its a good thing that the bible allows praying to saints and ppl other than Christ... oh wait, it clearly says the oposite... aw man. :(
wolfman2431 3 years ago
1) Praying to Mary and Saints - You need to understand the difference between pray and worship. Pray is to entreat or implore and is not reserved for God alone. When we pray to the saints we are not worshiping them but asking them for help. In many cases asking them to pray (to God) for us. Much in the same way you might ask a friend to pray for you. "Mary, mother of God, pray for me now and at the hour of my death"
2) Picture = idol? Would a picture of your mother be idolatry. No!!

I dont know why people think that Catholics confess their sins to a preist and not to God...they fail to see that when we do confess our sins to a priest Christ is there...just like God works through the apostles to write the bible the same way that God works through the priests
truthisbetter 3 years ago
truthisbetter, Good question!

I agree, we need to be taught the Word of God which is contained in both sacred scripture and sacred tradition.
Where in the bible does it claim to be the only source of God's word?
Bogamir 3 years ago
The Word of God came from the Catholic Church.
Or what you think it dropped from the sky?
So by following the Bible you already submit yourself to Rome, now get rid of your Bible so you won't be following Rome.
ESEME11 2 years ago 7
@ESEME11 The Word of God came FROM the catholic Church?? No! The word of God came from the apostles of Christ (Early Christian Church) The bible was finished right as the church was being formed. Moses wrote Genesis (He wasn't Catholic) Paul wrote Romans (He wasn't Catholic) You can view anyone in the bible, NO ONE was catholic. St. Peter was not Catholic. He was Early Christian. He is reverend as being Catholic from the Catholic Church because of his beliefs. But he was Early Christian.

Only the Catholic Bible has all the original books.

first of all honor is one thing i respect and love in a certain way, the ex virgin mary but to include her in prayers, tell me where jesus instructs us to go to mary or include her in anything,he doesnt it aint biblical, now secondly you catholics make images of mary, statues and bow down and pray to them, thats an idol God is against that, that aint biblical, jesus taught us how to pray and mary was not in it now if its not biblical why do you catholics do it.
sins4givenmain 3 years ago
Prayer to the saints and angels is part of orthodox historical Christian piety. It is a practice based on the doctrine of the communion of saints. We are one body in Christ and can pray for and help each other. It is completely biblical.
Images and statues are not idols. They are art. An idol is anything that you worship other than God. To falsely accuse others of worshiping an image in place of God just because you say so is slander. Isn't it?
What does the Bible say about lying?

Isn't THAT a sin? "You shall not bear false witness."
WHO worships Mary in place of God? "You guys"?
Who's that? Me? Do I worship Mary? How would you know? This video poster? How would you know?
Show me someone who says, "I worship Mary. Mary is God." Where is this person or group?
No one knows of any such person or group (perhaps there are a few nuts out there), and yet this is a continual slander made against all Catholics.
What about truth?

The Greek tenses of John 20:23 make it clear that the apostles were authorized only to announce the terms of forgiveness, and that upon the basis of God's previous appointment. The first verbs in the two clauses are aorist tense forms, while the second verbs are in the perfect tense. The perfect tense verbs imply an abiding state which commenced before the action of the aorists.
eialici 3 years ago
Eialici, this is a lie spread around the internet. It does use the perfect tense, but it is the FUTURE perfect tense, meaning that it "will have been" sometime in the future. However, if it was the perfect tense, it would imply that they would only forgive sins that were already forgiven, thus imply infallibility.
Why would you trust in such stuff? I trust the Church with my salvation, but you don't. So you should only trust the bible, that doesn't include people who quote the bible.

John 20

Are your sins forgiven?

Let's put an example instead of saying John 3:16-20 they just focus on John 3:16 only and discard the rest because they have these rosary prayers invented by a catholic clergy or monk in the 13th century.
camarajunior79 3 years ago
I honestly do not understand your point. Catholics do not discard parts of the bible. The rosary is actually a meditation of the mysteries of the bible. Todays mysteries are the five sorrowful mysteries (1)Agony in the garden, (2)scourging, (3) Crowning of thorns, (4) carrying the cross, and (5) dying on the cross.
They are called mysteries since we can never exhaust the benefit of spending time thinking about them and never truly understand them completely.
Bogamir 3 years ago
Where in the bible does it say Holy Mary Mother of God Pray for us sinners now in the hour of our death Amen
camarajunior79 3 years ago
Camara, my point was that the rosary is a meditative prayer. The point is to contemplate the mysteries. Todays are the joyful: ANNUNCIATION lk1:28, visitation Lk1:41, Birth Lk2:7, Presentation Lk2:22, Finding Jesus lk2:46
However, to answer your question: While those words do not appear in the bible, there is nothing in them that contradicts the bible.
She is holy. The mother of God lk1:43.
Also, there is nothing wrong with asking her to pray for us since we ask each other to pray for us.
Bogamir 3 years ago
It doesn't specifically say that; however it does say that Mary was "full of grace" which means she was without sin. It also tells us that the prayers of the righteous are beneficial, so why wouldn't you ask the woman who was the mother of God to pray for you? And who else would you want praying for you at the hour of death? Seems pretty logical to me.
Search "communion of saints" on Bible Christian Society's website and it will become clear.
mcharris1 3 years ago
I don't think so because we need to be direct and I have done it to the lady of Guadalupe once or twice and then I am prompted to go directly to Jesus but my issue is why invent her coronation in heaven instead say well you know she was the first believer who raptured she was also a jehovah witness because there is a gospel that a lady said blessed the lady who had you and he said something that would probably offend catholics because it appears they have this perception of + ways 2 go 2 heaven.
camarajunior79 3 years ago
Actually, her coronation is in Rev 12
1:And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman .. upon her head a crown of twelve stars
5:And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
Now this child is obviously Christ and the only mother I know of is Mary. So we have Mary wearing a crown in heaven. Now revelation is full of double meanings, but the primary here is Mary.
Please send the gospel quote
Bogamir 3 years ago
nobody is without sin or we call Christ a liar!
eialici 3 years ago
it said we all fall short of god's glory no exception even mary of nazareth. why these catholics can't understand that god shares his glory with no one. No graven images however one should prefer to talk to those images for free than to do to the shrine and have to pay for counseling and medication and the psychologists only gives short-term solutions. Like mother angelica that says its like having a picture of your relative where you see and talk to your favorite saint and talk to the statue
camarajunior79 3 years ago
Honor your Mother and Father. This is a Command.
If the Blessed Virgin was saluted by the Angel Gabriel:
Luke 1:26
"Hail Full of Grace, the Lord is with you"
then is it not right that we can and should Honour the Mother of Our Lord and God, Our Saviour and say the same words as the Angel?
Her cousin Elizabeth said: Luke 1:42
"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
Luke 1:48 From now on all generations will call me blessed.
PeterMansour 3 years ago
images and statues remind us of our loved ones.
PeterMansour 3 years ago

YouTees 3 years ago
Do you really think Catholics believe that Jesus is the pope's slave?? What kind of religio-hypnO-junk are you being fed?
Do you honestly think we are afraid of the rack?
I can assure you that I know salvation is in fact from Christ alone. He established one church (singular)Mt16:18. That church is visibly one church Jhn17:21-23.
You should really look at the writings of the first believers. Especially those that got the faith directly from the Apostles. Ignatius of Antoch is a good start
Bogamir 3 years ago

I see unity when all these folks prostate to pray on five different occasions with the catholics I see distracted and unfocused people just eager to eat the wafer and that is it the evangelicals and protestants bring in enjoyment in sermons rather than a boring priest saying fifty words instead of phrasing it in ten words

camarajunior79 3 years ago
confession to a catholic priest is a sign of the spiritual slavery that the catholic church has held it's captives in from the beginning! And when the church needed money it said one could BUY their way out of sins...by purchasing indulgences. It is all bullshit in the name of god and has NOTHING to do with Christ or what Christ lived or taught.
YouTees 3 years ago
Confession is actually FREEDOM from the slavery of sin. It was instituted by Christ as can be seen from the fact that the church has had some form of confession from the very beginning. Even you admit that confession was around from the beginning. The apostles understood confession to be a part of what Jesus wanted. To claim that you know what Jesus meant better then the apostles is not only arrogance but is not-biblical.
Bogamir 3 years ago
you confess your sins to one another not to a particular clergy
camarajunior79 3 years ago
Also, Indulgences have nothing to do with the forgiveness of sins. Please try to understand what catholics believe before you criticize.
An Indulgence is the acceptance of the grace given (by God) to us BECAUSE our sins have already been forgiven through confession. Even after our sins are forgiven, we still have an attachment to them which is a desire to repeat the sin. Through penance (fasting, good works, etc) we respond to God's grace and allow him to help remove the attachment to sin.
Bogamir 3 years ago

I am not sure what you mean by that, but I don't think I agree with it. If you mean that the more someone is able to reason, the less he needs faith, you could not be further from the truth.
God created a universe of order and he wants us to understand it. The more we discover how ordered the universe is, the more we see that it must have been created. Look at how the equations that govern a pendulum are the same that govern a electical capacitor and inductor.
Bogamir 4 years ago
I agree completely. People have no recollection how for this reason many scientific discoveries have been made by Priests who were also scientists.
havock89 4 years ago
Bogamir: One falsehood: God did not create a universe of order. "Out of chaos" came SOME order. Secondly, "that he wants us to understand it", is pure conjecture. How do you know ?
Philos2006 4 years ago
Philos: Please explain your frame of reference. Where does your statement "Out of chaos came SOME order" come from?
Since I don't know if you want a biblical answer or scientific, I will give a biblical; Man was given dominion over the earth. Giving someone control of something implies a desire for them to understand it.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Bogamir:You made a statement"God created a universe of order" Give a scientific explanation of your statement. Peace !!
Philos2006 4 years ago
Science itself shows that the universe is ordered. Science is after all a study or the laws that govern the universe.
Example: The law of gravity works ALL the time. Objects don't fall sometimes and not others. When we observe an object that seems to defy gravity (like a magnet), science can conclude that there is another law since the results are always ordered.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Bogamir: Order, sir, is what mankind can perceive as order. Not everything that follows laws is perceived as "order". The randomness, unpredictability of natural phenomena is not "order". The gas cloud that once was earth, is not order. The ramdomness of our time of death is not "order".
Philos2006 4 years ago
Order does not depend on being perceived by man, that is just relativist baloney.
As a boy, bishop Sheen used to sit at his mother's feet while she embroidered. Looking up at the bottom all he saw was random stitches. It was not until later did he realize that the pattern was viewed from the creator's side.

the bible version your using seems to mislead from the points, and dilute the word of God,
learn who wescott and hort are and what they did, and study all the new age bible copyrights, youll see the changes are just back and forth FOR PROFIT, the 1611 KJV is not wavering, and direct, as God's word covers a broadly, and as God word pin points, but your book is out in the oceans somewhere lost.

Please tell me what points you are referring to? I was not using a "new age bible" but the accepted RSV. I would however, use an older one if you wish. Would the Douay Rheims be ok? It was the first Catholic Bible in english. Also, the wording is surprisingly similar to the KJV in many places.

I agree. It was my first video ever and I didn't have it planned well. Also, it was 18 minutes and I had to chop it down to get it under 10 min. Next one will be better, Lord willing.

Crafty usurpers pretended a monopoly on Christ Jesus' free and open forgiveness of sins.
W/false apostleship they invented the rite of confession for blackmail and psychological slavery.
An insult to Jesus Christ that fooled Bible-disbelievers, it deserves to be mocked (1 Kgs 18:27, Titus 1:13, Lk 3:7)
Thank God I escaped! You can too.

Randon331, I will not run away from anything in fear but TO something in truth. This being said, what is your view on the early church? At what point do you feel the Church went wrong?

Check what I wrote: "many were wolves: Acts 20:29"
Did you read all the verses I cited in just 3 min?

Our posts overlapped, I was responding to the other post. I will read them and comment. Leaving for a retreat so it will be Sunday

Bogamir 4 years ago
The word "baptism" in the Bible does NOT always mean "water" (Mt 20:23, Act 1:5, etc) - H2O cannot wash away sins!!
We are freely saved by being baptized "into Christ" (Rom 6:3 - no water mentioned!) through spiritual new birth, having our souls saved by being washed from sin by Christ by his blood (Rev 1:5).
The spirit is born again, the soul is saved, but the body is not YET delivered. A saved man still pays for his own sins in the body, but not in the soul or spirit.
see 1 John 3:2
random331 4 years ago
The verses about forgiveness show that we indeed to retain or remit sins -> between each other and as a matter of church discipline (see also 1 Tim 1:20).
But before God we are forgiven by Jesus Christ ALONE and need no other mediator or advocate (1 John 2:1 and 1 Tim 2:5).
Your church has not taught you to discern OT teachings to the Jews - even when they appear in the NT. (See 2 Tim 2:15 "rightly dividing the word of truth" and Hebrews 9:17).
random331 4 years ago
Judas was a DEVIL according to Jesus Christ (John 6:71) hence replaced to fulfill scripture. But there are ONLY 12 Jewish Apostles because there are ONLY 12 thrones - see Matt 19:28. Hundreds of gentile popes can't sit on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel.
JEWISH promises are given exclusively to the JEWS - the Vatican covets a worldly throne and seeks war for Jerusalem since the Crusades.
So, no successor is mentioned when Herod killed James in Acts 12:2.
random331 4 years ago
If there are only twelve and Matthias replaced Judas as one of the twelve, then what of Paul? Paul was an apostle. 1 Tim 2:7
Paul also discusses bishops 1 Tim Chapter 3
bishops were given the care of God's Church as a father cares for his children.
As for Acts 12:2- It in no way implies that there was not one.
You should really read the writings of the early church fathers, especially those that learned the faith from the apostles. Ignatius of Antoch is a good place to start.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Rev 21:14-> 12 apostles of Israel to govern the world (under Christ).
Contrast Paul Apostle to the "Gentile" Acts 9:15, Gal 2:8, 1Tim 2:7, 2Tim 1:11. See Paul's role here: 2Cor 11:2
So all "Apostles" are DIRECTLY chosen by God. Lk 6:13, Jn 6:70, Jn 15:16 (and Christ: Heb 3:1). Local pastors ("Bishops") can be selected by others.
RE "early fathers" NOT "fathers" Matt 23:9 (except the ONE person who led you to faith in Christ: 1Cor 4:15) - many were wolves: Acts 20:29
random331 4 years ago
Greetings my friend, sorry to take so long to reply.
First, I want to make clear what Apostolic succession is. The bishop is given care of his flock under the authority of an Apostle or a successor. A good example is "what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2)
Note that Timothy is not simply a local pastor but a fellow missionary with Paul.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Bogamir, there is no scripture that calls Timothy an apostle.
Today's fake "apostles" must claim they're directly chosen by God and have the sign gifts - Benny Hinn, Cathryn Kuleman, Oral Roberts (Acts 2:43, 5:12, 8:18). These are lies (2 Cor 11:13, Rev 2:2).
But the "Apostolic succession" theory by Catholics lacks even these two essential points! It's a false claim of ecclesiastical lordship over fellow believers - a usurpation even rejected by Christ and Peter (Lk 22:25, 1 Peter 5:3).
random331 4 years ago
You are right to quote Acts 20:29. Many false teachers did appear teaching heresies. The way a true apostle (little a) was known was from whose authority he was sent. Remember that the Catholic Church had not yet provided a closed canon of scripture.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Paul said "of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them"
These came from within the ranks! They claimed "succession" - 1 Cor 1:12. These crafty fakers claimed succession from men (Peter)- following men not Christ.
So when Catholics claim they follow Peter they violate 1 Cor 1:12+. 3:21, Gal 2:8, etc.
Jesus Christ actually called Peter "Satan" right where Catholics crown him pope! (Matt 16:23).
random331 4 years ago
Fathers:
OK, I meant the writings of the early Christians which are normally called "early church fathers"
However, lets deal with the term father and Matt 23:9: Do you really believe that Paul single handily converted every member or the city or Corinth. No, in 1Cor 4:15 he is referring to his authority as their leader. Note also that the next thing he does is send them an apostle, Timothy. Sent to them with his authority. There is a hierarchy being shown here.
Bogamir 4 years ago
We are NOT to call mere men our spiritual father - "Holy Father" is the title of God alone! Jn 17:11, Is 57:15
The only exception is the very man who personally led you to Christ - 1 "father" but many "instructors" in Christ. 1 Cor 4:15.
He was their father by the preached gospel NOT by baptizing: 1 Cor 1:14-17.
random331 4 years ago
This exception is not stated in the bible. I don't think Paul personally converted every person in Corinth. Certainly, men spread the news of the gospel to friends and family. Paul does not claim to be the father of JUST the ones who heard him. He claims to be father of all of them. First, second generations and beyond.
Also, in Act 7:2 I doubt very much that Stephen was stoned by the one man who led him to Christ.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Huh? Acts 7:2 - the "fathers" in that context are his fellow Jews - the elders in the political nation of Israel, we can both agree he is not calling them his "spiritual" fathers, so if this is the proof text for calling a Roman Catholic priest father, its the only one: and what a poor example to pick!
random331 4 years ago
Actually, he was answering the high priest and the religious elders.
As for other references, the best is 1cor 4:15. Paul did not personally convert everyone so your "only one" exception does not hold water. Plus it is not mentioned in the bible.
Also, there is Acts22 and in Romans 4:11 Paul says that Abraham is the spiritual father of all believers because of his faith.
Bogamir 4 years ago
Jesus said call no man "father" - this either has meaning or it doesn't.
I call my Dad "Papa" (not "father") but let's assume this exception is ok since Jesus was not talking about real fathers in the passage.
He was talking about honorific titles that people assume to elevate themselves over other men.
Paul's role as the actual person who led people to Christ was another exception.
Thus: Don't call a Catholic priest "father" unless he won you to Christ by the gospel (not baptism).

Random331- re: your video that this one was in response to, why don't you just let people post at will there instead of filtering the comments.
What are you afraid of?
Sure it is your video, but don't you think it is a little control freakish of you to pick and choose what gets posted?
GraceBeMine 4 years ago
If it's left wide open people end up posting 50 comments in a row and nobody has a chance to reply.
I usually let all the comments and challenges go through - and try to reply back to each one.
But one guy turned out to be a perv and got himself banned and another kept emailing me a thousand times and wouldn't stop.
"PROJECTION" = Catholics thinking Bible believers want to censor them!

I have seen Sola Scrips post 7-10 bible qoutes in a row, so it looks like the page is full but it has never prevented someone from responding.
There is no "projection" here- just rejection by you of the One True faith Jesus establsihed for the world through the RCC.

Rome killed Christ!

Try to ignore those little goblins in front of your eyes telling you to stop, after all, you're a big girl now and shouldn't have Bible-phobia, right?

ran- if you have the guts- go to
ScriptureCatholic dot com
There is PLENTY of support for Catholic Doctirine listed there. Far too much to list here.
But you wont because you are afraid of TRUTH.
The Truth shall set you free, but your version of it keeps you imprisoned.
BTW- Just were exactly in the Bible does it say "scripture alone" is the only way to be a Christian???
GraceBeMine 4 years ago
You haven't listed ANYTHING in rebuttal, so obviously you just like being in the dark.
And don't misquote the Bible - it's "made free" not "set free". You Catholics do have a time reading your Bible straight, don't you?
random331 4 years ago
I told you my "rebuttel" we could fire off scripture at each other all day and night.
You still have not answered the ultimate $10,000 question:
Where in the Bible is "scripture alone" described as the only way to be a Christian.
Oh- and here is a bonus q-
What did Christians do for the first 400 years before the Bible was compiled???
GraceBeMine 4 years ago
Since you haven't quoted ONE scripture the better question is where did you get your "nada scriptura" doctrine?!
Without the word of God you have NO faith:
"faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17
You cannot be born again EXCEPT by the word of God:
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." 1 Peter 1:23
random331 4 years ago

No one was waiting around for a pagan pope to tell them anything.
random331 4 years ago
