He does sound like a more traditional, Reagan-style conservative than the Religious Right totalitarians we have now. It's unfortunate that he's going to be shut out by the GOP.
Sorry for sounding cynical, but the RR (and hence the GOP) has a tendency to reject people who don't toe their knee-jerk morality tests.
