The animoisity of the French toward their often-time benefactor and frequent adversary passed intact to the Quebecois in New France. in recent history (1900 to the present), the English, American and fellow Canadians have served as allies in the infrastructire of Quebec. Without which, the Quebecois could not have weathered the (4)
4/ march toward a secure future. that ancient distrust of the English (and English-speaking) fellow Canadians continues to be a stumbling block for the Quebecois today. The advances in technology and mrdia from the English speaking majority can be compared to the arrival of europeans to the Americas. These :discoverers" forever altered a pattern of perspective in a rapid manner, rather than anything which would be considered a gradual and natural evolution. (5)
5/ the Quebecois have allowed themselves to be ill-advised to leap into the modern world. the desire for sovereignty & identity has placed the Quebecois at a disadvantage, sovereignty is an option no longer feasible and identity is a fallacy of academics vs present-day challenges. a rapid leap into the current-day will not be seamless, transparent or without disappointment, consider the First Nation who were coerced into the (6)
6/ acceptance of europeans into what was an existance beyond their comprehension, for the Quebecois, the transition need not be as extreme, violent or confusing as it was for the First Nation ancestors. it may be clear what needs to transpire for Quebec, but that does not necessarily make the transition easy to accept. greater Canada has permitted its offspring too much indulgence and rescinding of privileges will not be without frustration for both parent and child.
