i tried it and it froze on me, and i had to restart it to factory settings, and then i did it to my ipod touch 1g 2.1 and it worked perfectly. Im starting to think its the 2.2 firmware

i took the risk and jailbroke my iphone 3G.

I have not had any problems! its running really smooth. but i dont know if i'm gonna uprgrade to firmware 2.3 when it comes out. but who cares!
