I know this video is old, but has anything changed on the tuner front? As far as I can tell I still can't buy anything so I can access HD content over my media centre. It's pretty annoying and I am really close to just switching over, though I'll miss being able to record four shows at once.

BTW, I'm with Shaw, if that makes any difference.

The only difference ive noticed with dear cables is they last longer. I went through dozens of 3,5 to stereo cables before i decided to get gold plated ones......and a year later there still fine.That said i aint gona run out a buy a hdmi for €80, thats a joke

Hasn't Linus heard of a TIVO? There is even High Def. DVRs now. I'm not entirely sure of the point of a media center computer anymore.

I have heard of TIVO, but believe it or not, the HTPC is about to become WAY more relevant. Hauppauge has a high def DRM-free tuner coming out that will be able to record 720p or 1080i content from your cable box over component.

true, in Vancouver / Burnaby, you can receive HD channel over the air, make sure you dont get those cheap HD antenna, get a normal UHF antenna large in size to get the best signal possible (indoor you give you poor signal but do-able). I recommend the coby DTV140 to act as the receiver

That sure is a nice mouse. They're the Logitech MX Air Mouse. Which has an operating range of upto 30 feet.
