  • why would you want to interchange harley and indian... thats just a waste of time.

  • @waysideleonard That 36 Harley had been setting up more than 10 years after being in a wreck. The carb's cork float was almost non-existent. My cousin threw the primary gear chain in the Indian busting the case into three pieces. I gave 5 gallons of multiple colored paint to a farmer to paint his chickens coop with. My coisin gave me the Indian. This was around 1956 or 57. As a kid I had very little spending money and finding parts were hard to do. So I switched carbs. This worked fine. Thatwhy

  • thats a harley seat.. just sayin

  • @waysideleonard My 1936 Harley had a shock absorber on the seat like this one butttt, the 36 Harley's seat was near twice the size of this seat you call a Harley seat. Looks like it fits well to the gas tank tilt. What makes you say it's a Harley seat? A lot of things between the Indian and the Harley were interchangeable including the carburetor.

  • I had a 47 Indian Chief. Threw the primary gear chain and bought a 1936 Harley 80 Cu Inch. Took the carb from the chief and it fit my Harley like it was made for it. Loved the Chief but in 58 I couldn't find a primary gear case. Mine was in 3 pieces. Chief had a wet clutch. Harley a dry clutch. They both were great Motorcycles.
