@DragonTamer2345 Most people in the slow lane are usually going between 80 and 120kmh... You don't HAVE to floor it but it helps :) Not much different than US freeways, except that you can go as fast as you want in some spots.

Nice video. But the 320CDI facelift doesnt have a top speed at 210.

My dads 220CDI does 215-220. The 320 probably has around 250 at least.

One thing about Germany is no one hogs the left/fast lane. And you passed a lot of Benz trucks too. It is too bad they have a speed limit again in Montana USA. I had an opportunity to drive an Audi through the state once as fast as I can go, but I imagine a diesel Benz CDI would not falter through the hills.

That's the thing about the states. It is currently illegal to sit in the left lane, but it is so hard to prove so cops don't do anything about it, so the driving sucks. Prius' going 50 in a 60, in the passing lane because they're all a bunch of snobs.

Last word on this. I would take this car & feel safe, not any car with this driver. Mercedes has safety built into its cars - even good drivers have accidents - caused by people like this guy. I watch the driver of the car in front, not the car. If I had been behind the Mercedes (likely since I drive a Hyundai) I would have seen him fiddling with something - a cell phone, drinking coffee, driving fast then braking late & hard in traffic. I would change lanes or pull back as defensive driving.

@DavkarsHobby He should have put both hands on the wheel but he must have been used to it and thus an 'expert'. At Mercedes implemented the Brake Assist which would decrease his chances of stopping on time.

I noticed how the middle section of the autobahn has a steel divider, despite the higher speeds. It seems to act as a 'rubber band' in case of an impact, so it means it is stronger than the cement barriers, which just 'breaks' in other highways like in the US. Also, when the DJMunich was fiddling the radio on the steering wheel, it means you don't have to bend over while driving over 130 mph. That's why the Germans are the ones setting the STANDARDS for the automobile world.

@Mr330d This was only a rental while my other car was at the dealership, so its not my car... but if I remember correctly it was pretty maxed out... didn't have a whole lot of power left at the top end. Not sure if its limited or just not enough HP.

@Mr330d no men, It's e320 cdi with r6 engine and 204 hp, not a e320 cdi with v6 engine and 224 hp, the e320 cdi v6 224 hp goes to maximum 255-260 km/h and e320 cdi r6 204 hp goes to maximum 235 - 245 km/h

Cool vid, I love driving on the Autobahn, but this vid shows why it can also be a pain.. people driving on the left lane although they're not overtaking anyone, people driving on the middle lane when the right one is free... that's vintage german driving style for you...

@ManiPulatoR84 So true... Only the long stretches between cities do drivers really respect the left lane, and even then its not a guarantee. I love it when they go 80km/h in the left lane.

@MarcinM592 I have a 2008 E220 CDI, and there's no electrical ou mechanical problems whatsoever.

But that's E220 CDI, it's a different engine.

It has 1000 cc less than the 320, and has 170 hp but trust me, it's a very very good engine.

if I go to EUROPE from UK how do I change the Lights to be on the EUROPE expectations. My Mercedes has automatic movement lights but I don't know how to move them and I cant find any switch that will move them.

@MarcinM592 I live in Portugal, and ALL I KNOW is that if you have xenon or bi-xenon lights you must have light washer and automatic movement lights. You don't find any switch to move them because they're automatic. It self-regulates to not "flash" other drivers.

@zebutes o because I live in UK and my lights are set on the other side to light harder than the other and now I'm going on a trip to France in May and I don't know how to switch the lights to move down and light harder on the other Europe side.

@MarcinM592 I know someone who owns a 320 CDI and a relative owns a 280 CDI. Both are without failure, for years now. They only go to the garage for the regular check-ups at 60.000KM for example. Guy with the 320 CDI is trading it in for a new one (cause it's financially attractive).

Schönes Video, einfach mal ne normale Autobahnfahrt ohne stupides Rasen wie bei vielen anderen Videos.

Dem Lieferwagen hättest du aber ruhig mal Lichthupe geben können. Ist nämlich nicht erlaubt, was der macht, Rechtsfahrgebot missachtet. Lichthupe dagegen ist im korrekten Sicherheitsabstand erlaubt. Wissen bloß die wenigstens.

PS: E320CDI, 330CDI gibts nicht
