@lokotron1 you are wrong my friend!we are too wick to destroy or help the earth!!!earth is 4.5 bilions years old and its doing fine without our help!!maybe we have done some damage but earth will find the way to survive...maybe it will take thousands of years to come back to normal but as i said is 4.5 billions years old...even 1 millinon years is for earth something insignificant...
George Carlin, Please stop making this useless videos, SAVING EARTH AND ENDANGERED SPECIES IS A WAY OF SAVING OURSELVE. what will happen if carnivore became extinct, Herbivores will eat all the plants and we eat them. Then will starve or eat eachother,What happen if we cut down all trees, We and other animals cannot get oxegan, What happen if shark went extinct, the ocean will be filled with dead animals and 20% of oxegan will be left for us.THINK BEFORE MAKING VIDEOS MR. DUMB
@jasejunk hahahahahaha thats the funniest thing I've heard all day! I do fully understand all aspects of evolution thanks very much, I wouldnt post comments based on ignorant opinions unlike a lot of people, and I dont hate Carlin either, as he was a good comedian, his comments about the 10 commandments are hilarious!
@Emlovesmnms George Carlin had his moments, but his schtick was that he was arrogant. Pretty much anytime you come across arrogance, like to say that you fully understand all aspects of a theory, it usually means that the person is somewhat of a fool.
Other than that, I remember his statements about the 10 commandments to be unfunny, contrived, arrogant, semantically flawed, and self-consecrating. I agree that we should make an effort to save species tho...a lot.
@thatamazinggeek Someone's butthurt. We're trying to play gods by saving all species, it doesn't help, it might actually decrease the growth of this planet. We learn things from species, so what? We will learn new things from the species that are yet to come as well.
Meh. I don't make much of a distinction between species; only between sentience and non-sentience. Sentient things suffer. Suffering is bad, and ultimately preventable. So let's ALL go extinct and just be done with the matter.
You should see the whole video. This is way less than half. His point is "Humans destroy everything around them". Do watch it, please. I think Carlin was brilliant.
I do respect to all opinions, so thank you for posting!
Sorry to say this, folks, but, barring nuclear war, an asteroid, or some other sort of cosmic event, human beings are gonna be here a while. Now, I am all for slowing down population growth and not wiping out endangered species, but the ideal behind VHEMT is nothing more then a fallacy. If you wanna have kids/adopt/not have kids at all, that's a personal choice and should remain so. Don't force your opinion on others.
That being said...George Carlin: gotta love the guy.
It makes me laugh at this arrogant little man... I wish the best for him. Those who think that human beings have not done any harm to their surroundings, and that all extinctions are natural live in their own sweet bubble. Don't make yourself very comfortable and wake up to reality. Anthropocentric attitude of man if it continues will cause human extinction and with it a lot of other beautiful beings. But this guy is right when he says "let nature have her way" - by not ruining her of her wealth
well considering there are only 0.1% species that have ever lived actually still alive, then extinction should be a slight concern if it is caused by ppl, and in most cases it is so ppl have a responsibility to help stop it if they are the cause
I LIKE HOW ALL YOU CARLIN BASHING GEEK FKS TYPE IN CARLIN AND VIEW HIS MATERIAL , IF YOU DONT LIKE HIS PROPOGANDA GO BACK TO YOUR LAME PATCHOULI SCENTED DRUM CIRCLES, YOUR OPINION ON THIS MATTER MEANS ABOUT AS MUCH AS YOUR MOTHER BIRTHING YOU FROM HER RECTUM.....- TRUTH OR NOT HE CAN GET YOU THINKING LIKE NO ONE ELSE CAN
@Emlovesmnms He doesnt just mean on the human effect on species. Animals like the panda to name a famous one, the symbol of the WWF, should of died out naturally ages ago. Its simply not adapted to its environment and has had low numbers by recent recorded history, the last few thousands years atleast from what i read.
Yet we've kept it alive and are trying to put it back in the wild. Thats playing with nature and trying to keep things right for the sake of 'ethics'. I see your point however.
@dadubs93 dude, being "well adapted" is not why things exist.
To draw an analogy to what you are saying....It's like saying "well I shouldn't brush my teeth because if they aren't adapted enough to not rot in my mouth, they should fall out and I will be rid of them." You have to acknowledge that there are a lot of unnatural situations like your modern sugary diet and long lifespan that make teeth "poorly adapted" to their purpose and they are worth saving because they make your body work better
@kowalityjesus uh, yeah it is, anything not compedative, or not enough in it's eco system is extinct, very quickly. But we can run with your poor analogy of the teeth. Human teeth don't stand up to as much wear and tare as they used to. yes there is a sugary diet and human living longer now, unnaturally long, but thies changes happened pretty quickly, too quickly for the realatively slow process of evolution to keep up, even if it did still work right with humans
@Dawnphyre you are exactly right, humans longevity has outpaced natural selection, which is why we had to start brushing or our teeth would fall out.
However, the reason why people are complaining about species extinction is because MOST of it is stemming from human activity (habitat loss, overfishing, pollution etc.). So most extinction is probably as unnatural as the human lifespan, so many people think we need to take measures to correct our wrongs, or 'brush our teeth,' if you will. :)
@kowalityjesus really? heartless? I'm alive so I must have a heart. Social... well yes I'm a realtively popular person. Darwinist... well I'm ok with it, you say it like it's a bad thing
Nitwit... well with an IQ that ballparks at 140 I'd say that's unfounded but then again with a name like Kowalityjesus you don't quite seem like the fount of well grounded knowlage
fuck you. we interfiere nature because we damaged it. asshole. its our obligation. a lot have been dissapeared by us. you are wrong.

No we are not in control of nature but we are what we do...and being destructive seems to be our way.
Tell the children suffering from polluted air and poisoned water that nature did that...not humans.
And yes all through time people die....species die...eventually this world will be no more at some point.
But really people should be called to account for their actions.
Never will happen but a nice dream:)
