actually there's a bunch of Hollywood couples that stayed married 50 years or more Eva Marie Saint & Jeffery Hayden for one they've been married 59 years this October and it was due to Eva's second pregnancy that Joanne got the part of Clara in The Long Hot Summer in the first place becoming pregnant herself during production only to miscarry during their honeymoon a few weeks before the world premiere of the film

Obviously you don't know much about Joanne in the right situation her sense of humour is more off colour than Paul's ever was and the fact that they made each other happy for more than 50 years particularly considering the tragedy they were dealt right at the begining of their marriage with her losing their first child to miscarriage and also this is part of the backstory featurette on the DVD of Long Hot Summer
