just to add what i wrote below,the version they released as a single was the beatles version,and the radio 1 show was roscoes roundtable which was on friday afternoons.

i think after all you need is love,which was their last single and was a flop i heard a article on radio 1 where they would review new records tony mansfield was talked about and hailed as a good songwriter,and producer, and the panel were puzzled why he did not use his own material as a single? after that as far as i remember he went on to produce other bands.
