Dude i got a sword stronger well higher stat power than the drake sword and i barely started and its the black knights sword and its from the one protecting the blue tearstone ring
Getting the drake sword is like running away at the start of the game. I've literally only used it once, and that was to try to kill the bell gargoyles, but I failed. After getting all the good items from the first shopkeeper, I just killed him to get the uchigata. It has served me well in my endeavors so far, but I might just use the iaito as its faster, but the bad thing is that my uchi is already +6
love ur vids just wanna say i killed black knight first try using the reinforced club the trick is not to go that way but go the bak way and get him in the backstab and then just keep blocking his attacks (or parry if ur pro like me) then go around and get backstab the rinse and repeat hope this help laaaaawwwllllll
@codpwningmachine i killed the one in undead burg when i was lvl 1....... just use pyro..... its makes shit a whole lot easier.
Don't know why people keep making strategies to kill it with mellee, just use pyro or sorcery spells. Not like it matter though since by the end of the game, you'd feel like a god.
lol @ the end you jumped to the ring item. I just ran and confronted the creature and ran away again. I didn't care if I died since once I have the item I will be able to keep it. Voila
I've just faced the gargoyles without the flying dragon sword armed with my weedy sword of astora. The difference is amazing! The difficulty early game just flew out of the window without the drake sword lol. If you want a challenge. completely avoid this.

I got invaded like 14 times trying to get this sword back when I was a noobie...then when I finally disconnected from the internet and tried my PS3 froze as soon as I killed it...
If being invaded is bugging you out stay hollow or join the Way of the White.
Being hollow means you'll never get invaded but you'll also not be able to summon help.The Way of the White covenant has a perk that prevents you from getting invaded as often.

@naudae You can melee him down near the stairs. There's not really any good reason to, though. You get some souls, and that's it. Well, he won't breath fire at you anymore, too.
My buddy took him on by running from one end of the bridge to the other sniping him with the huge greatbow.
Easiest way is a bit cheap but you come up the steps,hit him with a bow and when he comes down the the bridge hit him and run back down the steps.He eventually returns to his perch and you rinse and repeat.
@Jacobmedina711 If you shoot the tail more than 75 times and don't get the tail to break off, you don't have the required stats for your bow. Check to make sure you have enough Dex to use it properly. If there is an "X" over the weapon icon when you equip it, you can't use it. You'll have to raise your stats.

Dont know if its a glitch but i saw a message on the far left of the bridge (sniper spot) just before the undead rats, look up and you can quite clearly see the dragon's head. Take out the sewer rats first. Shoot the dragon, preferably with a bow plus 5, he will fly onto the bridge, keep shooting repeatedly with arrows, I received the drake's sword just before he died. He will fly to and from the bridge.
damn, this one looks pretty awesome, but in my case the dragon just flew away when i ran through his legs to reach the fireplace: is it still able to get this sword or did i just screw it?
Sorry if this seems a tad off topic, but I just got this game for Christmas. I made a knight and that wen bad, so I made a warrior which went pretty good untill the second main boss you fight. I think it might just be the way i'm spending my skill points. Anyone have any good suggestions on another good class, and what to put your skill points into?
@Chillin846 for beginners, a very good choice is the Pyromancer. He may be a little weaker than a warrior or a knight, but his damage output really pays off.
PROTIP: Pyromancy spells DO NOT scale with int, so DON'T spend points in it, unless you want some normal magics as well. Just get 16 str and 10 dex for the Drake's Sword ( Flying Dragon Sword ) and spend some in vit ( about 20 early game will be nice ), some in endurance, and 19 attunement only if you plan on using pyromancy.
@EpicNameBro ah yeah i was thinking about asking my parents for this game for christmas or renting it first. Ive played and loved skyrim and oblivion and have played other rpg games. Idk if ive played a game that looks as difficult as this though haha.
@MultiGuitar12345 You'll be ok as long as you keep your cool. There's tons of OP tricks you can use to make the game really easy. (Get a great shield, and use magic / lightning spear combo and you can just sit back and kill things as they come)
@MultiGuitar12345 Dark Souls isn't a difficult game. People confuse the concept of difficulty with a different game design. It's designed so you will die. And you will, many times, especially if you're playing blind. After a bit of trial and error, you'll be *looking* for ways to make it more challenging. Like Epic did. I don't think he even realized exactly how much he had to TRY to make this game difficult.
But if you like RPG's, get it. Game of the year, imo.
@ElitistSponge I rented this game today and I was not prepared haha.The Undead burg area is what got me. I found that the game was difficult not only that you die a ridiculous amount of times but their is no real tutorial and your thrown into a world where every monster can take down half your health with one strong hit. I would do well and progress far only to be mobbed by 3 skeletons around a corner while simultaneously getting shot by random a crossbow in the distance.
@MultiGuitar12345 That great thing is that you now know to take out the crossbow guy first and then pull the undead one by one with a bow! (you can take them all on at once, too... once you've learned how combat works through experience).
This game requires trial and error for most players, and it does take patience for sure. For now, go to the first merchant and get a bow and a spear. My fiance managed to clear the Undead Burg using that combo... I'm sure you can!
@MultiGuitar12345 Well, yeah. That's the trial and error part of it... You'll find where mobs are, what each one does, how you feel comfortable dealing with them, and then you'll be a bad ass in hours. Until you move onto the next area, of course. Ha.

This doesn't seem to work for me :(. I used the crossbow, and got the drake down to about 1/3 hp with roughly 100 bolts, but from there on he never seemed to lose any health at all. In total I shot about 400 bolts in him, doing about 12-13 damage on each hit. Sucks :(
Outa all honesty, do you do pvp at all? Not like you get invaded randomly and you fight him off. But do you actually go out and try to pvp for a day or so? If you do, you should do some videos like that, i'd find that VERY entertaining. If you need any suggestions for builds/wep combos, message me, im ranked 14th in the xbox guilty book ^_^. Working on my pvper for ps3 now too.
@EpicNameBro Awh hells yah man. Not many parry pvpers. You see alot of Shielding fags that just back peddle, or the guys with moonlight with Wrath of God that they just spam, or even the Tranquil Walk of Peace ( TWoP) and they just use that to backstab you. Real lame. If you were to make a dex build to use rapiers and maybe the parrying blade, I would SO respect you.
how do you use the bow in this game? I could never figure it out for some reason, but the controls for it are definitely different than Demon's Souls because my guy doesnt pull an arrow back or anything
I killed the dragon with i assume was a glitch today. First I cut off the tail with arrows while under the bridge, went back to the top and shot in the head with another arrow, and when it landed on the bridge, I ran behind it into the area under where it perches. After lighting and sitting at the bonfire it was gone. I attained no souls, but the drake sword kicks ass.
Ok so theres a way better snipe spot than this one AND you dont have to shoot the tail you can just shoot him anywhere and after some damage its tail will just ''fall off'' and youll get the sword , you can also kill the dragon for like 10 000 souls pretty easily
@DanteDMCry at 0:52 , he is standing right at the spot. its basically right on top of the stairs . What you do for max damage is just stand on top of stares ,from there you can shoot its body. Once u shot it on the body ,the dragon wont spit out fire ,it will fly and land on the bridge , you can get a clear shot on its head for good damage, then you have just enough time to roll down the stairs and evade the fire. Soetimes , the dragon will walk forward after the headshot and u get an extra shot
@EpicNameBro does the tail's hp reset when u leave the zone/rest at bonefire? Because i used more than 100 big arrows and i get nothing please help me
@darkn941 if you used more than 100 arrows, then you must not have the stats required for your bow. Are you using the short bow? Make sure you have the 12 dex that you need to use it, or it will take forever.
Is it common in Japanese phrases and wording to use English words? Is it because there is no literal translation? I.E. regained souls, OK, Cancel etc.

@hypotnuse You have to go to the shopkeeper in that level. Right by the bonfire in the undead burg you will see 2 enemies with shields standing diagonal from the archer that tries to shoot you when you walk out of the room where the fire is. Go to the guys with shields and roll in the group of boxes right beside them. There is a staircase there. Go down the stairs and out to the balcony thing at the bottom and the shopkeeper is right there.
PLEASE HELP ME! i can't understand why i can not upgrade any weapon +5 to +6. i tried 4 blacksmiths including the one in catacombs and no one offered me to do it.
@lugorifm You need to modify your weapon. It's the top option at the smith. Each smith can only do certain types, and you need to bring them a special ember in order for them to be able to do it

there is a way to get the drake sword without arrows u have to after the dragon breathes fire wait a little on one side of the bridge as close as u can get to him on the sides then u want to go out and he may jump off the ledge onto the bridge when hes there attack his taiil
This is so OP, I killed the giant Black Knight with the hammer in 4 hits, the GArgoyles in like 6, using one potion and beating them in like less than one minute. I would never be able to get anywhere without this.
I have the following Problem, I got all, Taurus Demon and the Stone of the guy down there but in my case, dragons sitting on the end of the bridge just like at you, but he starts flying and setting the bridge under fire MUCH earlier so i have no chance to run to the save point! Pls help me!

I got past the dark knight by luring him out, then bum rushing the ring.
I ended up accidentally rolling off the edge to get away from him, and I think he followed.

My trick to kill the Dragon fast and easy (thanks to the sword he gives you):
Go up the steps, snipe him.
QUICKLY pull out your Drake Sword, 2hand it and go dead center of that middle square area next to the steps.
Prepare an R1 attack for it to land on his face bone right as he lands.
Rush back down the steps.
Wait for him to perch again.
Repeat.
Done.
175 Damage every hit. He also doesn't seen to trigger his anti-snipe regen if you melee him.

That giant knight can be defeated with pivot backstab. Block his thrust and pivot around to his back while he recovers. Rinse and repeat. =D

This doesn't seem to work for me :(. I used the crossbow, and got the drake down to about 1/3 hp with roughly 100 bolts, but from there on he never seemed to lose any health at all. In total I shot about 400 bolts in him, doing about 12-13 damage on each hit. Sucks :(

Outa all honesty, do you do pvp at all? Not like you get invaded randomly and you fight him off. But do you actually go out and try to pvp for a day or so? If you do, you should do some videos like that, i'd find that VERY entertaining. If you need any suggestions for builds/wep combos, message me, im ranked 14th in the xbox guilty book ^_^. Working on my pvper for ps3 now too.

I'm a pretty average PvPer because I always try to do flashy stuff... not the most reliable way to win, but damn I look cool when I do!

You see alot of Shielding fags that just back peddle, or the guys with moonlight with Wrath of God that they just spam, or even the Tranquil Walk of Peace ( TWoP) and they just use that to backstab you. Real lame. If you were to make a dex build to use rapiers and maybe the parrying blade, I would SO respect you.

how do you use the bow in this game? I could never figure it out for some reason, but the controls for it are definitely different than Demon's Souls because my guy doesnt pull an arrow back or anything

I killed the dragon with i assume was a glitch today. First I cut off the tail with arrows while under the bridge, went back to the top and shot in the head with another arrow, and when it landed on the bridge, I ran behind it into the area under where it perches. After lighting and sitting at the bonfire it was gone. I attained no souls, but the drake sword kicks ass.

Ok so theres a way better snipe spot than this one AND you dont have to shoot the tail you can just shoot him anywhere and after some damage its tail will just ''fall off'' and youll get the sword , you can also kill the dragon for like 10 000 souls pretty easily

@DanteDMCry at 0:52 , he is standing right at the spot. its basically right on top of the stairs . What you do for max damage is just stand on top of stares ,from there you can shoot its body. Once u shot it on the body ,the dragon wont spit out fire ,it will fly and land on the bridge , you can get a clear shot on its head for good damage, then you have just enough time to roll down the stairs and evade the fire. Soetimes , the dragon will walk forward after the headshot and u get an extra shot

@darkn941 if you used more than 100 arrows, then you must not have the stats required for your bow. Are you using the short bow? Make sure you have the 12 dex that you need to use it, or it will take forever.

@hypotnuse You have to go to the shopkeeper in that level. Right by the bonfire in the undead burg you will see 2 enemies with shields standing diagonal from the archer that tries to shoot you when you walk out of the room where the fire is. Go to the guys with shields and roll in the group of boxes right beside them. There is a staircase there. Go down the stairs and out to the balcony thing at the bottom and the shopkeeper is right there.

@lugorifm You need to modify your weapon. It's the top option at the smith. Each smith can only do certain types, and you need to bring them a special ember in order for them to be able to do it

If you position yourself just right you can shoot the tail multiple times without moving your aim at all. just make sure you time your shots right.

there is a way to get the drake sword without arrows u have to after the dragon breathes fire wait a little on one side of the bridge as close as u can get to him on the sides then u want to go out and he may jump off the ledge onto the bridge when hes there attack his taiil

This is so OP, I killed the giant Black Knight with the hammer in 4 hits, the GArgoyles in like 6, using one potion and beating them in like less than one minute. I would never be able to get anywhere without this.

needed about 50 or so arrows, dex 12, after enough careful shots, got sword, rocking and rolling hard XD. but to kill the dragon, would likely need like 350 - 400 as i read somewhere, so, good luck :3
