  • can i be like you ? im 14 . :(

  • Awesome! May I ask was it by choice that you went with a more "outrun" style ground instead of the space harrier style "checkerboard?" If you did want to go with the checkerboard look, all you would have to do is make the ground (and ceiling in some other levels) have non-moving vertical stripes vanishing towards the horizon, and that way when the horizontal lines move toward the screen it gives the space harrier look. But considering the awesomeness of what I just saw it was by choice.

  • You did an awesome job !

  • nice SpaceH version. You're doin' great!

  • awesome a super smooth space harrier 2 game.

  • i've always thought the combination of the dude flying through the air and his retarded-looking stance made him look utterly homosexual

  • every 1 that knows this game remembers the deaths then the GET READY!

  • Did you use the official Sony PS2 TOOL dev kit, or a Linux Kit enabled retail PS2?

  • If only the version on the Sega Classics Collection looked this nice...

  • anyway to donwload this?

  • amzing stuff dude now you just gotta port this on portables lol

  • nice and smooth

  • awesome! you did a really great job recreating Space Harrier! if only the Wii has any creation tools like the ones used for this!

  • That is very impressive - I remember playing the original back in the days - Even had a moving hydraulic sit-down version at an arcade I used to go to - The game portrayed here looks even better than the original - Excellent work!

  • Holy crap!!! this needs to be made into a retail game!!!!

  • Excellent job. That was brilliant.

  • cool im related to the man how made the game

  • Excellent mix of smooth scrolling and games!

Didnt know if I was looking at Moot or Stuna Area! Very well programmed. Nicely done. Where can I get hold of a playable version?

  • You, sir, are a genius.

This is a very smooth, fast-paced, arcade-accurate port of Space Harrier for PS2.

Not hard to see why it won 1st prize.

  • Hey look, it's Space Harrier!

  • That it is, mon ami!

  • lol, you know who this is yeah?

  • damn good port! really impressive! Yes, the source will be great. I would like to port it to non linux ps2sdk if I had the time...

  • aye good stuff

  • Nice demo, ever play Wonderboy on the Mega Drive?

  • Other than Space Harrier, what else are you capable of programming at the moment?

  • I programmed this about two years ago for a university coursework. Now I tend to work with DirectX, shaders and the PhysX API. Currently I am writing a Maya exporter for an official PSP dev kit file format, so I guess you could include the Maya API as well. In terms of actual games, I can do Arcarde-esque platformers and shooters in 3D/2D. Nothing too AI or art focused since its just me :)

  • Wow this is amazing. Mava you must be some kind of programming genius! I had this on the good ol' Spectrum (128k I'll have you know)

  • Best Space Harrier EEVVVEEERRR!!!! Make another game please!!!

  • This is very very very cool.

  • Thanks!

This was my first proper project since I started to learn C++ and PS2 programming. I'm working on my website at the moment and I will be putting the source code on it when it is done, if anyone is intrseted :)
