lol i have that athlon dual core in my PC right now. It's a feisty little bugger, hasnt let me down except in BF3. Got a 1055t hexacore coming in the mail tommorrow :)
@SGlitches You must remember some times Money is not a factor when you use your computer for work... I myself used to be a AMD fan when i was younger but now that i am only into top end CPU's intel blows AMD out of the water. If i was not planning to spend over $1500 just on my cpu/ram/mb then i would go for amd cause you always get value for money but now that i earn money with my PC its a different story. If i can afford the best why should i not buy it.
@bassesweswe Actually it depends on the game. Games like crysis 1-2, mw 2-3, can utilize 4 cores, and bf 2-3 can even utilize up to 6. Which is why I never saw the point in anything over a 6 core CPU for gaming.
@taix250 Hey im not saying amd is better but there are so many things to factor in with intel vs amd. Where they using same graphics card? Did they have the same brand of ram and amount of memory? Where the two motherboards basically identical only thing different is the socket? Until i get proof this is all true to what i said im not choosing any sides. Amd is more priced to the everyday gamer.
I think you should read overclock for dummy book. BIOS is not ever fail because you don't clear CMOS or don't take apart part then re-install hardware. And there is no sign of voltage regulator fail if you don't see burned. Biggest fail is you get stock CPU cooler while overclock.

@widdlepimplabs I dunno where u are, but in australia where i live, the amd x6 1090t goes for 200, and the intel 2500k goes for 230, on cpu passmarks the i5 2500k gets a 7459 and the 1090t gets a 6057 so, the extra 30 bucks is well worth it, and the i5 2500k is a 4 core meaning that games will run better on it because each core is faster, and most games dont take advantage of 6 cores let alone 4, much better value for money
@NathynKelly Pftft the Phenom II X6 1100T is about 20 dollars less or even less than that considering which site you choose, but I do have to agree that the 2500k beats the 1100t in all of the benchmarks
i was going with the average of the prices from about ten different sites and the 1100t was from $180 to $260 depending on the site. that is why I said approximately
thats not fair i like intel anyway i know that it is expensive but it is better for servers and serios stuff, amd is mostly for gaming it has also got an onboard graphics accelorator.
i being amd for years had no problem with them but when i started to own a pc i had intel but that intel was so cheap in made it died in the first month of buying intel support does indeed sucks then i got my cash back and got my self a amd 3.40 GHz single core and it was better then into duo all your intel lovers hope you don't have problems with intel as amd is more faster then u :)
@R3VBigBlue no amd suck donky balls considering my i5 2500k is equal with an amd bulldozer which has 8 cores the infatructure in AMD processors is outdated and cheap
Who the hell needs more than 4 cores? Most applications and games fully utilizes only 2 because developers are developing games for majority and majority atm still using 2 core CPU's.

All it really shows are the poorly designed Intel motherboards (bios, vrm's), and some bad cpu's Intel had at the time, I mean... These Pentium D 800 series were 2x P4 glued together... That would never work right...
AMD = way cheaper than intel with 90% of the performance. Good for gamers.
Intel = 10% better which does not nessesarly effect gamers but may be close to a day and night difference for pros. Also way more expensive, but pros need it!!!
I will use AMD for my fun and Intel for my work. I like both.
@jmans25 you tel ltruth, both are good, but AMD for the gamer as CPU are already expensive that is, and 90% of performance is all what its need, if i got to work on serious project that need heavy performance from CPU, ill got intel al lthe way
@NasherDezno No doubt. that dudes just throwing it on there, not saying he would have got a better reading but maybe better temps on his cpu if he'd spread it out even.
@0oDarkLordRevano0 your comparing the wrong cpus. if you compare the 6core phenom II 1100t to the 4 core intel i5 2500k which are similar in price, the i5 performs way better for gaming. Most games don't even use more the 2 cores and each core on the sandybridge cpus perform better than the cores one the phenom. Im not an intel fanboy btw and both cpus are fine for gaming.
@Killamancer I have both and I agree with you,I have an i5 2500K and a Phenom II X6 1090T, and I'll stick with my Intel anyday... Less heat, less consumption, and really better performance, and the OC is unbelievable on the Intel part... A few years back AMD might have had it's light of the sun, but now Intel really rules.
@Killamancer That's what I like about my 1100T, when 6 cores are not in use.... it shuts down 3 cores and I get a boost up to 3.7 ghz. but if I can get a noctua cooler any time soon, I'll just overclock permanently to 4.0ghz +. Hopefully my CPU is just as good as my friends who has his @ 4.5ghz, but he's on water :P. I like the extra cores though. It seems there is a lot less lagg when I'm recording videos w/ Xfire and FRAPS, + there's the encoding after that too which helps
@SOF006 oh, your talking about integrated GPUs(i though you were talking about the myth that intel CPUs don't work well with amd GPUs). im not sure what that has to do with the CPUs but who games with integrated GPUs and expects good performance? I'm not expert on it, but im pretty sure intel doesn't even make integrated GPUs(thats still amd and nvidia) so im not sure what your talking about.
@0oDarkLordRevano0 Your choice is stupid, you shouldn't be comparing main stream CPU to extreme performance CPU. If you want great gaming performance for the money get i5 2500K which is quad core but beats 6 core AMD easily in gaming. If you're doing video editing and stuff get i7 2600K which costs just about 100$ more. It's stupid to put against 6 core Intel which is far more powerful and has far more greater price tag vs mainstream product... Compare it to i5 2500K which costs about the same.
@Dex1n But so does budget... and I think intel CPUs are a little overpriced. Their quality is obviously better, but maybe not a few hundred dollars worth >_>
@0oDarkLordRevano0 Just as I said, i5 2500K outperforms phenom II x6 and is same price. So there's no hundred dollar difference as you claim. i7's are way ahead phenom II x6's so don't compare them. You get what you pay for.
@0oDarkLordRevano0 And sure they can't cost the same, AMD Phenom II are all old Intel Sandy Bridges are new. I'd really put extra $40 on new CPU which beats the shit out of old one in gaming.
@0oDarkLordRevano0 It's more like $549.99 (i7 970) - $598.99 (i7 980) but.... $999.99 (i7 990x). I still went w/ AMD though, I bought an AMD 1100T. I wouldn't mind trying a i7 980 to check out if there's a different feel when using tri-channel memory. My 1100T will go to my lil bro for Xmas though when I buy a bulldozer cpu + 990FX mobo :) . I'll build a 2nd gen i5 Sandy Bridge-e for my sister.
@xterminator069 yes that's true but the processor which has a high-bandwidth L3 cache but a little? AMD already know what they do:) I'm AMD fan and will remain so! I LOVE AMD
I've done my research on Intel and AMD, it all depends on what the software was written for. AMD doesn't support SSSE3 or SSE4.1. Intel has advantages with that. But if you actually want to compare Intel's Core 2 Duo's or Quads to AMD's Quads, my Phenom II x4 820 crushes Intel Q6600 and it was $50 cheaper. You have no idea what you are speaking of. The only Intel processors that are better than AMD's high ends are the Sandy Bridge and i7's. Cheaper? No!
The x6 1100t is cheaper than the 2500k, not quite as fast though. The FX-8150 is $259.99 on TigerDirect. Also the 2500k doesn't beat 8150 in every benchmark. Windows/applications do not fully utilize the bulldozer yet. Of the 3 processors my choice would be to get 1100t. Not saying Intel is bad, I would much rather have more cores for less, when seeing the 2500k doesn't actually "dominate" the 1100t.
@0oDarkLordRevano0 yea but the amd 6 core is slower than the intel core i5 sndy bridge but not has amd a octa core (8 core cpu) but now comes the fun part 8 core amd 800$ and the intal core i7 sandy bridge 300$ and another thing the core i7 cpu is faster than the cpu of amd
I have a 10 year old PC With AMD Athlon +1500 processor, the PC was getting used constantly for 7 years. Booted up the PC with windows 7, and the processor is still managing that.
Intel is stupid for charging $1,000 that literally cannot be fully utilized unless you're doing serious rendering in which case you'll have a studio anyway. Intel is just plain greedy and have been stealing AMD's technology for years.
just look up intel's and amd's ibm days you will see amd is guilty of the same thing in fact thats how there company got of the ground by steeling technology and reverse engineering it. so when amd fan boys talk about history they usely dont know any
How can you say that? A low end i7 costs around $250. A High End AMD costs $289. How the hell is that better performance for the price? The AMD 6-Core has far better raw power especially for gaming. Don't forget new games now can run a dedicated 4-Cores for the game so the other two cores can be used for other functions. There's no way in hell Intel Processors are better price for the performance. If you want a good intel-processor better than AMD's1100T it'll cost $400+
HOW IS FACTUAL STATEMENTS OPINIONS? You have NO BASES on your claims. Now you're just being a dick. Leave please and take your complete and utter brainwashed ignorance with you. While you're at it look up Bulldozer by AMD. Funny how Intel have only recently came out with 6 -cores and they cost $1k.
@rashin Why do people keep comparing the phenoms to the gulftown cpus? The sandybridges are way better performance for gaming and are $100-300 depending on which one you get. Can you show me a single benchmark that shows the phenom IIs outperforming the sandybridges in gaming, because I can show atleast 5 different one showing the sandybridges smoking amds cpus. I'm no fanboy and hope the amd bulldozers will do better and give intel some competition.
@rashin yeah, and amd didnt take anything from anyone else.... doubt that, but anyways, intel is not stupid, how is someone stupid for charging $1000 when people buy them, and i dont AMD is stupid for not charging a logical price for their efforts, i think their nice, though i do use intel because i wouldnt trust anything but xeon for rendering
for gaming though, my next gaming computer WILL be AMD
this is why i use the asus motherboards

1. How come your work is so neat, my harware setup is like a 50 year old electrician's shop.

3. I want to make a custom laptop, how should I start learn about assembling them.
Thanks

1. You need experience in cable management to do that.
2. that cabinet is probably custom made using ac
3. you cant assemble a laptop. At max you can "customise" certain options from the manufacturers site.

@jmans25 you tel ltruth, both are good, but AMD for the gamer as CPU are already expensive that is, and 90% of performance is all what its need, if i got to work on serious project that need heavy performance from CPU, ill got intel al lthe way

GeoGenerationRishi 5 months ago
@Killamancer I have both and I agree with you,I have an i5 2500K and a Phenom II X6 1090T, and I'll stick with my Intel anyday... Less heat, less consumption, and really better performance, and the OC is unbelievable on the Intel part... A few years back AMD might have had it's light of the sun, but now Intel really rules.
V3ctorPT 5 months ago
@Killamancer That's what I like about my 1100T, when 6 cores are not in use.... it shuts down 3 cores and I get a boost up to 3.7 ghz. but if I can get a noctua cooler any time soon, I'll just overclock permanently to 4.0ghz +. Hopefully my CPU is just as good as my friends who has his @ 4.5ghz, but he's on water :P. I like the extra cores though. It seems there is a lot less lagg when I'm recording videos w/ Xfire and FRAPS, + there's the encoding after that too which helps
DoomTra1n 5 months ago
@Killamancer Intel CPU's are better for gaming, however you have any type of intel GPU in there and it'll run like shit.
SOF006 3 months ago
@SOF006 first i'm assuming you mean amd/ati gpu's and that is a myth. there is no truth to that at all.
Killamancer 3 months ago
@Killamancer What? You didn't even read what I put. Intel GPUs suck, AMD/ATi integrated GPUs don't.
Intel CPUs are good for gaming.
SOF006 3 months ago
@SOF006
Both CPUs are good for gaming.
Edge0fPain 3 months ago
@SOF006 oh, your talking about integrated GPUs(i though you were talking about the myth that intel CPUs don't work well with amd GPUs). im not sure what that has to do with the CPUs but who games with integrated GPUs and expects good performance? I'm not expert on it, but im pretty sure intel doesn't even make integrated GPUs(thats still amd and nvidia) so im not sure what your talking about.
Killamancer 3 months ago
@Killamancer They do, look up Intel GMA.
SOF006 3 months ago
@SOF006 your right, but I still wouldn't expect good performance from any integrated gpu
Killamancer 3 months ago
@0oDarkLordRevano0 Your choice is stupid, you shouldn't be comparing main stream CPU to extreme performance CPU. If you want great gaming performance for the money get i5 2500K which is quad core but beats 6 core AMD easily in gaming. If you're doing video editing and stuff get i7 2600K which costs just about 100$ more. It's stupid to put against 6 core Intel which is far more powerful and has far more greater price tag vs mainstream product... Compare it to i5 2500K which costs about the same.
Dex1n 5 months ago
@Dex1n Uhhh... sorry? lol a CHOICE can't be stupid, it's more of an opinion :3
0oDarkLordRevano0 5 months ago
@0oDarkLordRevano0 In technology opinions don't matter, it's the facts which matter.
Dex1n 5 months ago
@Dex1n But so does budget... and I think intel CPUs are a little overpriced. Their quality is obviously better, but maybe not a few hundred dollars worth >_>
0oDarkLordRevano0 5 months ago
@0oDarkLordRevano0 Just as I said, i5 2500K outperforms phenom II x6 and is same price. So there's no hundred dollar difference as you claim. i7's are way ahead phenom II x6's so don't compare them. You get what you pay for.
Dex1n 5 months ago
@Dex1n The 1100t is $189.99
The 2500k is $219.99
These are Neweggs, Amazons, and even best buys prices.
They do not cost the same.
0oDarkLordRevano0 5 months ago
@0oDarkLordRevano0 They are in same price range.. And you get much better performance for extra $40...
Dex1n 5 months ago
@0oDarkLordRevano0 And sure they can't cost the same, AMD Phenom II are all old Intel Sandy Bridges are new. I'd really put extra $40 on new CPU which beats the shit out of old one in gaming.

@0oDarkLordRevano0 It's more like $549.99 (i7 970) - $598.99 (i7 980) but.... $999.99 (i7 990x). I still went w/ AMD though, I bought an AMD 1100T. I wouldn't mind trying a i7 980 to check out if there's a different feel when using tri-channel memory. My 1100T will go to my lil bro for Xmas though when I buy a bulldozer cpu + 990FX mobo :) . @ExtremeCoopGamers there is some truth to that statement, provided the cpu has a very high bandwidth to make a large L3 cache useful.

petersupermann 3 months ago
@petersupermann
Cheaper? No!

old i5 (in my case the i5 2500k):140€

so what?
its better.
a 140€ i5 2500k is better than the BEST 300€ 6 core amd
and i know the amd bulldozer fx 8150 has 8...
petersupermann 3 months ago
@petersupermann

AMD has far better processors for their price.
Intel is stupid for charging $1,000 that literally cannot be fully utilized unless you're doing serious rendering in which case you'll have a studio anyway. Intel is just plain greedy and have been stealing AMD's technology for years.
Just look up the lawsuit AMD had on Intel.
rashin 6 months ago 38
just look up intel's and amd's ibm days you will see amd is guilty of the same thing in fact thats how there company got of the ground by steeling technology and reverse engineering it. so when amd fan boys talk about history they usely dont know any

@gmoiasovghb87fa
