Fanbutton, I work for the Florida Wildlife Comm. but am mostly a water patrol guy, but the way that I understand this is that the Panther is merely a subspecies of Cougar. In fact there is a subspecies of Cougar in Texas that we are using in Florida that most closely resemble the DNA of our Panther in order to launch a breeding program.
