My Cousin Nancy told me as I played the 45's 38+ years ago that I would out grow the oldies but goodies. Guess She was so wrong now I as I sit here. I remember going to visit my cousin's and playing all those great songs on her record player. Thank you youtube for makin it easy to remember. Thank you Nancy
I DIG this BEAUTIFUL SONG, It makes me BREAK DOWN everytime I hear it, I miss all of my Familia that has passed on to the promised land, You are always in my thoughts

R.I.P Grandma Adelia Robles
people was more talented and it wasn't all about the money back then it was all talent so what u got was songs from the heart. the words, the voice it wasn't how good you look or how much money you have because you can't buy true talent and you can't make it (like the Inc. try to) it is a god giving gift. that is why A good singer never need anything but a mic. and they will rock the house, like this lady....Brenda but thanks to American Idol you won't see another Aretha Franklin,Chaka or Patti
All their great hits back in the day makes you long for the old school sound. Brenda was a great talent. She honored us by singing background on our recording produced in Philly. To hear that performance google Mr. P - Over and Over on youtube and a few other sites.
wow. i sat down at my casio wk-3800 last year and played right along with this song as naturally as if i was there when they recorded it... i've heard the song ever since it was released, but had never tried to play it until then... amazing musicianship, amazing singing, amazing lyrics... what the hell happpened to music since then?????

Nothing can compare to the music from back then. I feel so grateful to have been able to grow up then, too.
I think that some, not all, of the musicians of the last few decades don't appreciate the art of good lyrics and good music.

i picked up the original LP a few years ago, it was worth the price, most of the album is smooth and made for slow dragging
